Proton Charge can be cast using mini-map?

In SC1, all abilities that don't require a target can be cast through the minimap. I'm assuming that this use of the minimap as a target area designation interface still holds true for SC2. But I want to ask specifically: Does this hold true for Proton Charge?

Yup, you will be able to use the mini-map to cast the ability.

While this may make it easier in compared to the other 2 races, warping-in with the highest efficiency is much more difficult than having queued units of Terrans with reactors or Zerg with their many extra larvae and all units being built from hatcheries.

They are different yet will be balanced

You dont have to go back to the base to cast it. You can keep your probes fully charged while still macroing your army.

Yea but you would most likely miss your mineral patches

Plus you have to go back to your base to warp in stuff anyway (remember warp in has a smaller cooldown than the build time for a unit)

Trying to cast this via mini-map would probably require precision, and precision on the mini-map takes time. I feel like I could do it faster with a quick screenswap+click than through the map. "Huge" is probably a bit of an overstatement

The AoE is really big. I dont think it would be that hard to miss.

One thing struck me as strange. "Warping-in with the highest efficiency is much more difficult than having queued units of Terrans with reactors or Zerg with their many extra larvae and all units being built from hatcheries." Resources bottlenecked in a queue or in extra larvae are inefficient and make a poor comparison to optimizing another process. (Extra larvae may be necessary for anything akin to the BW muta timing, but that can't be the norm.)

In the screenshot it appears that having the AoE be off by one mineral patch's length would make it miss some miners, making it inefficient.

The AoE only affects probe movement speed and not mining rate (as I understand). So if you have a fully saturated mineral line with extra probes, you aren't really mining faster since probes are already waiting for empty patches so missing a probe here and there wouldn't really do much. Obviously earlier in the game missing a probe would have a greater impact but mid/late game it probably wouldn't matter.

It lets probes return 6 minerals instead of 5.
