By that definition we can add in a few more SC2 progamers.

By that definition we can add in a few more SC2 progamers. For sure, if someone is making a living of SC2, be it streaming it or competing in it, he's by definition a pro. Someone not making a living of it is not a pro.

But then again, what would Naniwa know? I mean, why would you watch an hour-long interview with the person in question explaining most things instead of listening to Idra talking about him?

Shrugs I think it says more about said Koreans than about him that they can't let something as 'tiny' as that go for years, likely forever. Life is too short to grudge like that -.-

"The term is also used in sports to differentiate amateur players from those who are paid." Edit: Someone who lives at home and plays at top level with no compensation would be considered a pro-am. Not sure we have those in SC2...

Do you realize how much progamers actually have to pay to live? It's probably not much. I guarantee you that 30% of them live with their parents/other family. another 65% live with roommates/in a team house, and 5% in other circumstances. It's like being in university with financial aid. You live comfortably while someone else pays for everything you need to become a progamer while getting some money on the side. Of course there is extra money, but don't think it's a huge sum tallying in the $100k's. No single sponsor or collective group of sponsors is stupid enough to throw that much money at one player at this point in the game. To believe that the highest paid players make any more than $20k-25k is just wishful thinking because it's probably not happening.
