It's a punishment presumably within the bounds of the employment contract. EG is completely allowed to enact it. It's not a punishment that they weren't allowed to hand out.

You should have seen DeMuslim's stream when Stephano first moved into EG (before he was signed) and he was pretending to be really upset and calling Demu a racist. He has a very edgy, deadpan sense of humor. Better than most native speakers. That's why he's the best American.
