Maybe you like it or not but people who are in a position as Stephano is(skilled, popular, plays for a big team) are always in the spotlight and people observe every move they make. So they need to be careful about what they say or write. So they simply can´t make bad moves like Stephano did. It doesn´t matter if it was a joke or not. I´m not judging what he said, but that´s how it works, you simply can´t make these comments when you are Stephano because it will cause a shitstorm,(Joke or not.)

It´s not just Stephano. Imagine Christiano Ronaldo, Michael Jordan, ... or some other famous athlete making comments on the lever of Stephano did. It would cause a huge drama.

Stephano has his own personality and charisma. Assuming it was a joke, I don't think it deserves such punishment or attention at all. Pedophilia and homosexuality are both perversions and people in gaming community are joking about the latter all the time. I dislike such a hypocrisy morality as much as I dislike perversions.

Also, I didn't read his contract, but how can they suspend him just for joking?

I obviously understand why Stephano was suspended but I still disagree with the decision. Stephano wasn't even streaming during that time right? He was just caught on another persons stream.
This reminds me of the orb situation when orb was bming his opponent and people started making a big deal about it. It just seems really stupid to me =/.

Only if he actually did anything against the law.
You need to realize that he said "I abused a 14 yo", not "I had sex with an underage girl".
Aside from that he just SAID it, he didn't necessarily do it. I think it's unreasonable to punish someone for saying something that is not hateful or abusive to anyone else, and is unsubstantiated, especially when said under the expectation of privacy.

While still overblown, that was far worse, and he said specifically hateful and abusive things against particular people — he also said such things under full knowledge of a public audience as far as I know.

There are thing you just don't say. Try saying that you are a terrorist inside an airport for once, and see what happens, preferably an American or British one. Last time someone in UK got into some real trouble tweeting that they were going to blow up the airport, even though it was intended as a joke.

I can't believe the number of people who have not heard about statutory rape and are saying that he didn't do anything wrong...

well, maybe he didn't do anything morally wrong, but he would have committed a crime in many countries.
