Reason: Manifesto7 for his intelligence and integrity
Please stop insulting the staff that makes this site and scene what it is. These people have put in thousands of voluntary hours so that you can have the job that you want and you do nothing but shit on them.
At some point it's going to be a perm ban if you're not willing to change this. So i am really the first one to post this here? It's from the "who is your favorite mod" thread. I am not a big fan of idra, his attitude is really annoying. But I feel like he was trying to be funny and not spiteful here. We will never know. He was trying to be funny by being spiteful. I sometimes wonder if the guy's brain pattern completely changes when he sits down in front of a computer because he seems mannered enough in real life. Maybe he does it thinking he will never really get permabanned on TL. I guess it's up to the mods and admins to decide whether the crap he spews is worth the contributions he makes/made. I know what you mean, there is just no point to it. I can't think of a good reason for him to be so bad mannered online. We all know that most people are like that, anonymity brings out the worst in us. But idra is a well-known guy, he doesn't have this anonymity.
Yeah also wonder about it, whenever i see him in a interview or soem video is seems like a really cool smart guy who i could be a fan of 100%. But then i go online and read his posts and it just seems like a completely different guy.
When i first read his post i took it as him being honest not bashing him, like a consolitary thing trying to make things better. But then i started wondering if i was wrong... No idea how he meant it but in the post inself i see no BM, but in the context of him having a history with Mani i can see how it looks that way.

Not everyone takes the internet so seriously. I personally think his trolling could use more subtlety, but trolling in moderation is frankly what makes a lot of threads actually worth threading.

How many times have they told Idra he would be permed if he kept acting like a tool?
Hollow threats are never a good thing, though I do understand they wanting to keep him around, he might actually post something good like he did sometime(in a galaxy far far away) in bw.

naggerNZ was just temp banned for 1 week by Nyovne.
That account was created on 2010-12-28 13:14:21 and had 25 posts.
Reason: You were warned to let go and stop attacking other people's faith. If you can't do so voluntarily I'll just make you incapable to for a week.
We do not accept intollerant people in this community, I strongly suggest you refrain from doing this in the future or the next religious moderation incident you'll be involved in will be your next.
Vaya con Tassadar!
Am I the only one who finds this funny?

I think otherwise. some of the bans like the last ones where he tried to make fun of manifesto for example show something else: I doubt that anyone has taken idras comments seriously. the problem is rather that ppl will mimic him. and he knows that I think.
the guy just has a very special kind of humor

I think he should just get an Anon account and let his main account stream and nothing else. And obviously stop posting things aimed at mods or regarding incidents where he himself is involved. I bet several of the big streamers/players have secondary accounts, it only makes sence.
Then he could post his opinions without his fans bandwagoning everything causing the mods the get angry on him.

Except Idra posting like Idra without the name to back him up would go through the warn -> temp -> perm chain in about as long as the tempbans lasted. He's learned to how to act in progames, now he just needs to do the same here.

There's nothing clever or innovative about his attempts at being funny. Maybe he doesn't realise people are laughing AT him rather than with him which is pretty pitiful to be honest.

If idra gets permabanned, will you lock the idra fan club as well? If so, would it be to prevent the inevitable incessant whine in the thread, or would it be to sever your link with him entirely, or to serve as extra punishment?

It would probably just spread the hate of the idra fans all over tl.net, if I were a mod I'd leave the thread open at all costs.

I think for the benefit of our mental health teamliquid should start word-filtering 'religion' and related terms to some other noun.
Religion is the root of all evil - Cotton candy is the root of all evil Christians are stupid - Horses are stupid All muslims are terrorists - All mammals are air breathers
.. please?

Agreed, if theres one thing TL doesn't need (besides Tdot and noobs in SC2 strat forum), its religion arguments. I think it would be better for the site to say keep your faiths to yourself.

I agree, there is no reason for religious discussion on a gaming forum in the first place. They should take it elsewhere. It would be nice if they implemented something like that.
As for IdrA's facade; it's called little man syndrome.

Grown men getting annoyed at nothing is pretty funny. If someone posted an equally abrasive response as yours against the mods and for IdrA; they'd be banned instantly.
I still don't see why IdrA shouldn't be regarded as an equal to the mods. Every other article on this website is about him. He's given up more and creates more interest than everyone else put together. This just seems like a mod fueled ego-trip to me. This ban serves no purpose other than to alienate IdrA fans and make TL more boring.

I was suprised there was no "PROTOSS OP" threads being made after (GSTL Day 1 spoiler) + Show Spoiler +Squirtle beat four terrans in a row, eliminating fOu from the GSTL, as protoss
Maybe this is a sign that this forum may be maturing up slightly.

*imagines what would have happened if + Show Spoiler +*
We can only hope its a universal trend for the forums and not race-related.

Probably the same if you switch T for P. Whatever the state of balance in SC2 is or isn't there is definitely more shitstorms caused when Z has trouble in tournaments, sure there are whiners for all races but a bloody failed bling bust can lead to an apparent "Z couldn't have done anything" discussion. Suppose part of the reason is that there are a few notable Zerg players who are quite vocal when it comes to their opinions on balance, for better or worse.

This ban serves no purpose other than to alienate IdrA fans and make TL more boring. You can run your site as you like. On mine I ask everyone including players to respect the staff that makes all of this possible. I will stand for that and have stood for that, and no matter whether it makes TL boring or nobody comes here anymore it will always stay that way. TL as it is today is the result of that vision.

And they wouldn't get away with it if they did it, IdrA's posting is simply below what TL demands from its users and while we'd all love to keep him here its just not possible until he fixes his attitude.
People look up to IdrA, if we would let his shitty posting continue we would have to deal with numerous people taking after him. Is his presence on the forums important enough to bring the overall quality of the forums severely down?
IdrA wasn't banned for just this one jab at a moderator, he was banned for showing that he still hasn't learned how to behave on the TL.net forums after pages of bans and warnings. He is already given more leeway than anyone else, immunity would be just plain silly.
