I still don't see why IdrA shouldn't be regarded as an equal to the mods. Every other article on this website is about him. He's given up more and creates more interest than everyone else put together. This just seems like a mod fueled ego-trip to me.
This ban serves no purpose other than to alienate IdrA fans and make TL more boring. You can run your site as you like. On mine I ask everyone including players to respect the staff that makes all of this possible. I will stand for that and have stood for that, and no matter whether it makes TL boring or nobody comes here anymore it will always stay that way. TL as it is today is the result of that vision.

Seriously, I think a sense of humor often lends credibility to bans; the lack of which makes a system totalitarian and frankly just begs for more jabs!

Because he played BW in Korea, not that he was any good compared to the koreans but the fact of the matter is that he practiced with CJ Etnus which was/is pretty fucking huge for anyone outside of korea to do.
Honestly if he didn't do any of that stuff then he would probably be banned by now lol

Apparently he contributed quite a bit to the BW strategy forums. For SC2, I'd wager his stream and just bits of progamer insight here and there.

Even if he did make a new account, it would get banned. You may want to look at all the PBU bans in the ABL.

He's been doing this shit for years and no one really knows why. I mean he seems like a likeable guy irl when he's on camera and I've never heard anyone that met him in person say anything bad about him.

I think where my issue comes is, after 11,000 posts and many years, a certain amount of familiarity grows between everybody. Seriously, think about that. He has been a member of this site for many years. He has contributed, been interviewed, and participated in events on a weekly or daily basis. Even if you're not a mod or above the law, that familiarity breeds a level of comfort.
While I can't say for certain what IdrA's frame of mind is when he posts, I think banning for what is, at best, a poke at a moderator seems ridiculous. It's not as though he entered the thread and called Manifesto a retard or a piece of shit. He did a light jab that in the context of recent events (which is key, since it's not as though it was out of the blue) that was obviously meant to be funny. In that regard, I can see if you want to draw a line and say "no insulting of moderators, ever", but at the same time I think making IdrA the whipping boy (even if he deserves it at times) over it seems semi ridic.
Obviously I'm not privy to all the information and Manifesto's Garfield comics tend to point that there is obviously a lot more conflict behind the scenes, so I could be ridiculous far off base. If those (behind the scenes issues) are the primary reason for the ban, then I can't really speak on the matter. If it's solely based upon that post and his previous bans/comments that I think it is overblown.
