Well I saw a number of posts before he made that one and I would say he is a solid poster, plus its not like he just posted a one liner and then a spoilered image, he actually had something to his post. I think it's about the context. Like if somebody out of the blue changed their sig to "umad Mani?" that would probably not be bannable. But in the case of Idra it was blatant defiance in response to a justified ban earlier, so it resulted in a ban.
In his case, he was repeatedly warned earlier for posting image macros/memes. So obviously the mods are going to be more strict since he was a previous offender by the same crime.

I'm pretty sure he's had over 10 bans and a previous account which was permanently banned. Super lenient.

We know already.. He meant it insulting obviously, if you knew their history that is.. His last ban was due to insulting Mani and a few bans before that too if im not mistaken.

I think in 90% of bans people were trying to be "funny". It's a moot point.

He was trying to be funny by being spiteful. I sometimes wonder if the guy's brain pattern completely changes when he sits down in front of a computer because he seems mannered enough in real life. Maybe he does it thinking he will never really get permabanned on TL. I guess it's up to the mods and admins to decide whether the crap he spews is worth the contributions he makes/made.

I know what you mean, there is just no point to it. I can't think of a good reason for him to be so bad mannered online.
We all know that most people are like that, anonymity brings out the worst in us.
But idra is a well-known guy, he doesn't have this anonymity.
