##Vote: Kavdragon
We're not suppose to be voting yet. The thread will be created on the Day 1. Right now it's Night 0. So we can't vote yet.

You have the power of Census. Every night, you have the ability to determine the number of any alignment or role in the game. For instance, you can check the number of mafia total, OR the number of godfathers, OR the number of roleblockers in the game. The valid alignments are Town (returns the number of vanilla townies), Special Town, Mafia, and Serial Killer. All roles listed here can be counted. For the purposes of census, bodyguards, the mayor, and godfathers count as their original alignments and roles.
Normally, the Mayor cant be targeted by DTs either, but it seems like that was purposefully left out.
Mod Question: Can the mayor be DT checked/medic protected/mason recruited?
The mayor can be DT checked, but it returns "Mayor" regardless of alignment. So there's not much point. The mayor can be medic protected and mason recruited.

I think we should talk about: elections how we should use the census power
Also I want to remind everyone: behavioral analysis is what drives mafia games and scumhunting
It is too easy for the mafia to hard focus the game on clues while misdirecting the suspicion onto townies or doing a late bus. Yes, clue analysis is important. When you think you have a strong clue tie-in, look through that persons posts assuming they are scum. Does their posting make sense? Do they defend other players or attempt to misdirect town efforts subtly? Then you might have a hit!
The only time I'd feel comfortable lynching on clue analysis alone is when the clue is really strong and obvious (either overwhelmingly obvious or it couldn't possibly fit another person) or when that person has been mostly or completely inactive (meaning there is no post behavior to go on)
It's too easy to get distracted by red herrings. Keep track of all potential clues. For instance in Haunted Mafia, people focused heavily on the "silver hammer" in one clue and the "baseball bat" in another when both were completely irrelevant.

Maybe if there wasn't a guy whose only picture was A DUDE WITH A BASEBALL BAT, then that wouldn't have been a problem :p

some mods like me are bad at writing clues

Yeah, and not to say anything bad about the mods, but wouldn't they want to make the clues decently hard? This would mean making clues that could point to multiple people depending on how you looked at them, or that are somewhat ambiguous.

Well that's an interesting twist. Now my interests are piqued - prior to this rule change I assumed the Mayor would almost certainly be GF if Mafia. This now gives Mafia the opportunity to effectively have [at least] two GFs. Boo

Meh, this is how the mayor role usually is. It's not so bad for us. A mafia with "two godfathers" can get really cocky and make huge mistakes. Without PMs it's hard to take advantage of that as much.

Yes of course they can. I don't see how that is relevant to what I'm saying. If they can't PM townies then it's much harder to use the godfather role to full effect.

Day 1
Cue the clash of lightning. Play the roar of thunder. And make sure there is a shower of rain.
It was just a movie scene, just something from a scary film. A bad dream. This couldn’t be happening.
I should explain.
Oh, how I've tried to get you out of my head.
We all first met at a party in Florida. A ‘pre-sailing’ party as they said. We all applied to start a colony on an unnamed island in the Caribbeans. We were going to be heroes, the founders of a city, the explorers of the modern age.
And I lied, broken words I said.
As the host brought around the drinks, as the the crowd crescendos with laughter, as the band broke out into another song... I felt something was wrong. Did the lights in the ceiling just black out? Are those black shapes in the alcove bats? Is that shadow in the corner a black cat?
Never thought I'd walk on this street again.
I should have known that this voyaged was cursed with bad luck from the start.
Standing where it all began.
A piercing scream woke us up.
Where am I? What’s happening? The last thing I remember... our glasses raised, filled with dark red wine, the color of blood... a toast, a sip...
A scuffle and gun shots snapped me to the present. We dove, crawled, or pulled ourselves to the nearest cover. A gurgling, gory, throaty sound forced me to see what was happening.
It was outside, our ship’s nurse Korynne was on the ground, hand clutching her slit throat, black blood gurgling onto the ground. Behind her, a man dressed completely in black, knife clutched in his hand, a hole in his head.
Our captain, Foolishness stowed away his gun, fell to his knees and clutched the nurse’s head. I listened as in between sobs he choked out what happened
“The man... the man was following the nurse. I... You must avenge her death. He is not alone... I will be their next target. They will come after me next and… Mi Dio!” + Show Spoiler +I picked up the dropped switchblade, pressed it to the captains throat, and sawed.
Korynne has died. Qatol has died. Foolishness has died.
+ Show Spoiler [Clues in the Night 0 post] +Note, this was the clue in the story LSB and Node were bound with duct tape This points to Qatol. "Guns make you stupid. Better to fight your wars with duct tape. Duct tape makes you smart." -Burn Notice This is in Qatol’s profile. In addition. There was a red herring in this story “...the hell? That sounds like... Spoon?” Spoon is an indie rock band. It says in Node’s profile that he listens to indie rock. Therefore, the clue points to him. There will not be many intentional red herrings, but as the stories become more detailed, there may be some. For example the intruder pulled a small, serrated switchblade from his pocket. He pressed it against Node’s throat and sawed Was not an intentional red herring, but it could possibly pointed to someone. These clues are a bit easier than the ones that will be found in normal day posts. There are no clues in this spoiler
Day 1 has started. Please elect your mayor.

[b]Are clues using the traditional method (each death is tied to one killer with one or more clues in the story)
or is it one relevant clue set per post?[/]b

ebwop
also nice writing.
Just so everyone is aware, I'm already starting tracking what may or may not be clues/relevant info. You should all be doing something like this, it does wonders for figuring things out.
Day 1: Anberlin song "Retrace" The word "black" bolded dark red wine, drinking blood Mi Dio!
Killer A (korynne) dressed in black wields knife (switchblade) hole in his head
Killer B (Foolishness)? Narrator Sawing motion
i googled the song lyrics to find the name of the song. might be relevant although I'm thinking it isn't. Try to figure out what things might be referencing.
