I have a question. When you place 2 collapsable rocks next to each other, in game, they are linked units, as when you kill one they both collapse. Can you change this, or is that just a thing for collapsable rocks?

I don't know if it's really the right place to ask but I thought this wasn't thread worthy and there is no general simple questions forum
I don't like the HOTS move command animation (the arrow when you right click), and I noticed that in replays and some custom maps (IE marine split challenge), there is still the WoL one. I was wondering if there is a way to use the WoL animation instead of the HOTS one? I guess you can't as they forbid modding and such, but doesn't hurt to ask even if it's a very minor issue.

I would think so .. by changing
a/ the proper "vicinity radius for regrouping" if there is such a line in the data available for said unit (must be called something else of course)
b/ changing their inner or outward radius so that they can be "nearer" to one another without regrouping
c/ go to mapster, check and then ask

I would think this is a parameter possible to modify, thing is .. hots came after wol (lol stating the obvious) and therefore it is not "prudent" to go "back" .. and of course it might give you the "non melee" treatment

Search the "ui" (as opposed to data or units..) in galaxy ... if you have a map (maps..) you would like to apply this change to .. I suggest you do it within a mod file, so as to apply it to any number you want, plus it will allow you to break stuff when testing/polishing without breaking your own map(s)

Again, I think you should search for it on mapster, the mapmaker 's best friend/gal

Under behaviours: Collapsible Rock Tower Conjoined -> Edit the Radius field.

I think this would make it an arcade map however (?)

yeah, i have looked, but i didn't find anything.

oh well, i guess i don't need it. the images aren't that important and i can measure the distances manually. it would help though.

lol thanks, let us know how that testing goes I looked in the collapsible rocks thread and didn't see any mention of that behavior. I haven't tested it but based on whats in the data editor that should do the trick.

I have built a cliff that is higher than all my bases. How can I prevent units from accessing my cliff? For example, I don't want stalkers to blink up on that cliff or terrans to be able to drop siege tanks, etc.

EDIT: Found the answer, Pathing -> Dynamic Pathing Fill Tool. Click on top of the cliff.

Also, my map has only two levels with bases. Let's call them lvl 3 for main base and lvl 2 for natural. When I try to lower the level one more, to level 1, the tool instead lowers it two levels (to lvl 0) so I can't connect the levels with a ramp. This only happens at the lower level. I also have unusable cliffs with lvl 4 height, with no bases at this level. If I instead try to +1 all levels, main at lvl 3 can go to lvl 4, but unusable cliffs at lvl 4 can't go to 5 for some reason, so they end up same level which does not work.

What am I doing wrong? I want to be able to have 3 levels of bases (1-3), 1 extra high (unusable) cliff level (4) and a water (lowest unusable) level (0).

You can only have 4 height levels, and since the lowest is unusable you can only "use" 3 levels in the editor (for god knows why reasons)..
I have being trying to create more levels via doodads but for the moment i have been unsuccesful with that :/

You can raise and lower the terrain height with a brush to create new levels. Then just smooth the top out. If you want to create cliff edges, cover them up with doodads and then use pathing to make the area unwalkable. If you want to make the doodads to appear like they're the ground, then hide the terrain underneath the doodads, cover the black floor up with water, and use pathing to select the unwalkable parts. This is how "bridges" are made.

What is this glitch on the minimap? It looks like a little broken circle. The icon is only shown in the fog, it disappears when a unit comes near the place that is marked. When the unit leaves and the place goes back into the fog the icon reappears on the minimap.

I have found nothing wrong with the map at the place where the icon is placed. I have tried re-flatting and redoing the area hights, but no change.

How do I fix this?

EDIT: I had accidentally created a unit group. This unit group has an icon that defaults to what is shown on the map. Remove the unit group using the Map/Object Groups dialog.

Hi, is there any way to use arcade doodads in melee map modes in the editor? I want to use a specific doodad but it's only applicable in the arcade version of a map.
