Should you wish, I can provide my piloting expertise by orbiting your laser ship of death, with one of these. + Show Spoiler + ![]() As I lack any reliable means of transport for such dangerous space. If you will have them in place, I will pay FAIR market value and fly them in tight circles around you, painting all the things. I think this will be better than a bellicose, simply because of survivability, and I am much more experienced with frigate piloting (and staying alive in a frigate). Although, I have spent more time in cruisers in recent days. I do miss the days of old, when I flew my righteous rifter of tackle godliness upon the inept fools of new eden. Also, if it pleases the pilot of the laser ship of death, a painter could be replaced with a fed navy web, which on these wonderful ships has 36km range (heated) providing decent protection from pesky, offending tackle. Which I am also perfectly willing to pay for. I care not which you prefer. Please post your thoughts on this setup and any improvements, as well as any plans for a fleet in this thread so I can fly my way there, I will check this thread daily. I am also perfectly willing to pilot a bellicose if this setup is found to be unacceptable.

I would think you would be more receptive to idea of having one of these orbiting you. Less tank, less dps (bellicose fills an anti-frig role in smallgang), awful speed (literally 2k/s slower than the t1 version of itself), less painting ability, must sacrifice tp for a web it can't really use. It's hugely inferior because it has much worse stats than the vigil, slower, fewer rig slots for lock range, no real ability to use web bonus, shitty t2 resists. It's a poorly conceived ship and a victim of power creep.

It's a poorly conceived ship and a victim of power creep. Good points, I feel the same way about the griffen vs kitsune. I actually looked into a vigil for this. But the issue I was having was that I couldn't get an MSE to fit on a vigil. I imagined the extra lock range beyond 80km was irrelevant because the oracles only lock out to about 80k and the falloff ends 76km. The numbers I'm getting put it 800km slower than the vigil, but it gets a 10% bonus to paint effectiveness over the vigils 7.5%, it locks faster, and why is the t2 resist shitty over the t1? Are they not flat out better? The only reason I suggested the web as an option was for defensive purposes. I'm orbiting your oracle painting, something manages to tackle you, or is close to getting under your guns. I web and paint it, and you blap it. However, as always, you are much better at taking all things into consideration. The bellicose does provide the anti frig protection, the problem I was having the last time I flew with you, was that it is easy for big stuff to hit a belly, and it has bad range and lock time. You were able to 1 shot a fucking stiletto once it was painted the last time I flew a bellicose with you, so I was thinking that the painters were what I was really adding to the fleet. Being in something with smaller sig, higher speed and agility, larger painting bonus, more range and faster locking then the bellicose had me under the impression that I could do that role better with this ship. I noticed in the bellicose that you were always getting a shot in before I was locked and painting also, I had to be pretty far in front of you to lock them. I concede to flying a bellicose, It doesn't matter to me, I was just surprised you were so against trying it. Anywho, let me know where and when, and you'll have your bellicose pilot.

BTW, I can also fly everything on the list except an oracle or hugin, and I could be in either of them pretty quickly I think.
