Reading these two posts resulted in a session of weeping hilarity on my part. It would of been slightly more tragic, as opposed to really damned funny, hadn't it been for the "Hide Spoilers" checkbox that would of taken him a few minutes (at most) to find.

One of the most fascinating things to this day is that people rage so hard when they get temp banned for 2 days. I got banned once or twice at the beginning (nor sure anymore) but I learned as well. And I was more afraid/sad then in rage, I fail to understand how people can get so built up about something like this.

Well, I've been on the site for almost ten years now, and have never been banned. But that's hardly the point.
The point is, that how you choose to moderate sends a message to the users. And in the example I've given the unmoderated post is a fairly dumb oneliner without any content whatsoever and formating/spelling issues. While the moderated posts is decently written, contains a personal reference to the material mentioned in the op and the observation that religious debates on TL/ the web always turn messy.
So which one is the post that you would like to send the message "don't post like that" about, i.e. moderate it?

My thoughts exactly...Perhaps this is his way of saying he's realized hes made a mistake with SC2 and wants to come back to the community..? Or maybe his rumors have some weight to it.

Apparently I missed the drama again.

That thread is well written, frames the issue nicely, references some more complete outside content, and actually has a thesis statement. There is no reason in the world that thread shouldn't be allowed to stay open, if people can't handle it in a respectful, intelligent way then let the ban hammer fall.
