I think it's fine the way it is. People know that the General Forum tends to have a lot of stupid crap in it, and they can partake or avoid it as they choose. If we actually had a separate "post stupid crap here" subforum, it would be like begging for even lower quality discussions.

If someone in the judge thread genuinely believes that corporal punishment is okay and tried to discuss why in some instances it is an appropriate or effective method of discipline and control- then discuss it with them and do not sink down to petty insults. You can tell by my language where I stand on the issue but I strongly urge you not to just randomly toss shit around. No one will change their minds and General will be that much more of a shitfest.

I'm frustrated that there is even discussion in the judge thread. That video was one of the most psychologically fucked up things I have seen in a while, yet there's people (or trolls I guess) saying it was basically fine? That's one of those topics where i'd be fine with it being a 50 page long reaction thread, where every post was "oh my god, horrible!" or something along those lines 
Reaffirming my belief that staying away from the general forum is a good thing :3

On a related but not really related note, I am suprised by how civilized the OWL thread is going. I was expecting some 1-liners calling people communists or facists or telling people to go get a job. But almost every post in there is a paragraph or three of insightful writing into the other viewpoint.

It'd be like trying to ban someone on political views, it's hard to draw a line between what is allowed and what isn't. Granted I haven't read that thread and all of its replies since it was around like 13 pages long so it could be way crazy worse now.
Also there HAS to be some way to keep TI___ from registering. He's somehow even more annoying than Tdot was.
