But really just following the rules will ensure you're here a long time Humility has taught me that I am impulsive, but I temper it at best with contemplation. Often Im wrong and when I think about things Im the first to see it. Its so hard to temper our voices and that is what text is. After my first and only ban I said to myself, your better than this, your more thoughtful. Im sure I screw up (Ive gotten a warning or two) but I really try to temper it with humility.
I think that is what separates the long term from the short term in the long run. There are those that show respect and those that dont. Some of those that dont make it through anyway but they lack all sense of humility and it shows in their posting. Be it a silly and loveable poster like marttorn or a serious debater like Torte, you see it in the way they write and over time if your like me you begin to gain respect and show it.
These are people I would open my home to in need. Humor or seriousness, there is a sense of respect shown that I in turn respect. I think you need humility to see that even if you disagree on fundamental things.

Are the mods preparing for a purge in the judge thread? In defies belief that a 40 page thread has somehow managed to go without a single ban.

Yeah, it does. I don't see how people getting banned can possibly benefit me. At least try to presume good faith, KwarK. Sometimes a question is just a question.

The dad is pretty fucked up in regards to the power trip/verbal abuse, but I think people are overreacting on the actual physical punishment. Beltings in general are pretty typical in Asian families and it actually works in the short term in that you never do stupid shit after that again. Whether you disagree or not, most people who got beat as kids (not abused or to the extent of that video), after they grow up, are generally thankful towards their parents and have no hard feelings. Not saying I agree with the judge's actions, but just try to look at things from a different perspective.

Most divorced women don't remarry, and of those who do not, two thirds report no sexual contact (not even hugs) over the past 10 years, with 89% reporting no intercourse. As for breeding, keep in mind the left wing stances on social issues correlates with low fertility.
Perhaps my views seem archaic. They are archaic. Old is not a synonym for wrong.
And yes, it was just a question. I was surprised, though in retrospect, I should not have been.

I'm tired of all the fucking trolling in the judge thread. It's a serious topic that's getting shit on from trolls and people who agree with the judge's brutality.

Sometimes I think the admins need to create a new TMZ subforum in general. We get these gossip-y topics like that judge thread way too often nowadays. Frankly, I'm surprised there's no Kim Kardashian divorce thread yet.
