It's still maddening because, well, I actually do care about the things I believe in and it is not just a game I play for fun. Also you come up on the limits of your own knowledge, where you are pretty sure that something is true but you discover you don't really understand it as well as you thought before you started trying to say it. But on the other hand the internet is a place where people have weird notions about what constitutes 'proof'
as for that star someone suggested... Lol. I'll be happy just if I can hold my tongue well enough to keep my posting privileges.
I know what you mean, and I wouldn't say that you need to not care about topics to keep sane, but just be aware that you are unlikely to have a significant impact on others' perspective, and instead just be content with convincing them that theirs is not the only rational one (for some people I would consider this a significant impact).
I only find coming to the limits of my knowledge frustrating when the person letting me know decides not to be humble or does so in an overly aggressive way, which is admittedly pretty common on the internet, but TL does a better job than anywhere else, that I have seen, in reducing such behaviour.
These are the kinds of problems I have with posters like DEB, it's not necessarily that I disagree with all their ideologies, it's that I feel aversion to actually have a discussion with them because of their need to aggressively defend their opinions rather than let their arguments do the talking.
DEB's understanding of his own Catholic faith was always very, very cringeworthy. He was getting pretty simple historical and codified catechism stuff wrong all the time.
I was going to make a post apealing his ban beacuse he got baited into it. I was digging up posts he made starting a few pages back and searched for when it started.
He started rageing and got banned in like a page its pretty pathetic.
Nothing piss's me off then people with an unpopular position misrepresenting the position by being a dumbass. If anyone wants to do some christian bashing I've got more shit then all of you put together.
I wasn't talking about the last couple of posts that led to his ban but just a recurring theme within his posts for I dunno, the past couple of years? Secondly, I don't have any problems with him being a Christian or a Catholic given that I'm a Christian. I have a problem with DEB because he's a dumbass.

Yahoo? For some reason that makes far more sense than it should.
Why, because they're all yahoos?
Zing! But honestly more because how many people do you know with Yahoo, Rocketmail, Ymail anything that are under a certain age? Because of my work, which deal a lot with peoples's emails, I've come to have certain stereotypes about individuals based on their email service providers:
Oh well maybe DEB can take refuge there for a while.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amen brother! It's great to see another Christian here on TL. I went through some serious periods of doubt during my life but after I came across this Christian writer called Lee Strobel who actually went an interviewed hundreds of Christian scientists explaining why evolution is wrong and how Jesse really did walk this Earth, it really strengthened and confirmed my faith. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Look, if you're going to go as far as claiming others are stupid, I would say that given you believe in a fairy in the sky who you can pray to and will listen to you, you are the one who is the dumbass. Check out www.reddit.com/r/atheism sometime and maybe you can finally recognise your joke of a religion for what it is --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shit like that is why we generally never allow religion threads on TL, so just stay out of what has been a pretty good one.
Seems like multiple personality disorder isn't as rare as it seems. I have to laugh at his switching of stance as though he didnt make that last post.
Or he's trolling. He's only got 58 posts. How many times have we seen positive posts in the Ten Commandments thread only to learn half of them are PBU alts, lol?
As well, "Christian scientists explaining why evolution is wrong and how Jesse really did walk this Earth" sounds suspiciously sarcastic, if you ask me. He may be acting consistently.

I'm on gmail. Judge me.
See that fits the bill for a community generally comprised of 15-30 year old computer literate males.
Gmail wasn't around when I needed an email address, so I used hotmail. The sad thing is I still use it :/.
I see Hotmail, or MSN and I generally think it is a European who owns the account. Those two never really did terribly well in the States; I see Aol, and you are likely over fifty.

What else should it be? Lamenting about a race not being in the finals and the "still" implies it has been too long since P actually won anything. Especially since he got debunked just two posts later by Naruto.

With some subtle adjustments could just be lamenting.
Still no Toss in finals,
Wasn't until he got sassy with it that it crossed the line.
