Whats wrong with posting like this?
I see no wrong in it at all. They express what they feel and think with as little text as possible.
Just cause its not a wall of text and doesnt have some huge impact on the discussion as in "contributing" doesnt it mean that they are worse or bad then a big post.
If you throw away posts like this it would make tl.net a very boring and strict place to be.

Omg great writeup I don't actually like the idea of me going around reporting everything posts that might or might not be actual offenses, but on the other hand I was warned for writing 200 words which summed up to tl;dr Don't mind much of the bad or dumb posts, but posts like that get on my nerves. yeah dude lets report people for giving someone else a nice compliment That's probably the only thing on TL I would like to see moderated more. The idea of "nice compliments" gets a little out of hand in a community of ten thousand people and most of the threads that announce something positive are completely useless because of that. But I now this is a cultrural thing - most of US-based forums are like that, for example CloudyNights, the world's big astronomy forum is completely flooded with affirmations every time someone posts a picture, whereas on our local astronomical forum, we strictly moderate such posts and encourage people to posts open criticism, becuase it helps others improve, and noone is surprised. http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=388669¤tpage=2look at all these complimentary posts without content!!!! A bunch of horrible posters wrote nice things without any criticism because they don't any clue about sculpting but are appreciative of the effort. This site is in ruins. Most of those aren't what opisska and Mataza are talking about. Every single post there is longer than six words. But if half of them were Nice job Congrats! Very nice! That might be
opisska apparently does not like posts that are positive but not critical, and thinks they should be moderated strictly.
The following people are bad and dumb posters, going by this criteria:
Zealos United Kingdom. December 18 2012 02:56. Posts 1446 PM Profile Blog Report Quote # That is so fucking awesome. I really enjoy reading these updates, albeit I mainly skim through for the pictures : D
CatNzHat United States. December 18 2012 03:18. Posts 1189 PM Profile Report Quote # 10/5 very cool work, i love to watch a project like this progress over time
HollowLord United States. December 18 2012 06:07. Posts 3612 PM Profile Blog Report Quote # This is some manly shit right here.
flamewheel LINCOLNLAND. December 18 2012 10:49. Posts 20650 PM Profile Blog Quote # this is fucking awesome
loving the WIP mate!
Chill Canada. December 26 2012 05:11. Posts 25122 PM Profile Blog Quote # Wow that's really good.
QuanticHawk United States. December 21 2012 02:49. Posts 19868 PM Profile Blog Quote Edit # Really love your blogs man. So awesome. Wish I had that kind of talent
kierpanda United States. December 21 2012 03:07. Posts 441 PM Profile Blog Report Quote # This is awesome. I'm excited to see the rest of this process. :D
His head might explode if he reads a kierpanda thread with people saying only nice things!
I would love to see whatever wonderful post mataza made that got him warned and turned him into the content police, terrorizing the good citizens of TL with the threat of a sternly worded warning to the mods!

You are a bad poster Hawk, and you should feel bad.

If the thread is a subjective piece of work or news article or announcement, there is nothing wrong with saying "Congrats" or "Nice!". Post counts mean nothing...and not every post can possibly have thought provoking content. Some occasions just require a simple phrase, and if a user just wants to limit his/her use of Teamliquid to browsing and contributing like that, nothing wrong with it imo.

Shouldnt they be more strict with people who actually have done BAD posts before instead of being strict at people who makes light and short posts just cause they are used to doing that?
Like, a guy curses some progamer and gets a 2 day ban. You are meaning that the mods think kind of like this: "This guy does make short posts so lets ban him, but if he would have made bigger posts and try to discuss more he would have gotten a warning instead."
Is that what you mean? Is it really like that? So I need to write more to maybe get a warning instead of a ban?

Instant drama! Maybe we should all look into http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=375795 for tips how to properly post.
And I actually asked in this very thread if such a thing was an offense at all. And the answer I got was to maybe check his post history if all his posts are as empty. So why do you have a problem with me following mod advice? I have no idea what to make of this, but luckily, I don't have to.

Some people just doesn't have a lot to say, which is not a valid reason to not allow them to say what little they actually have. However there are people who just post "I agree" or "+1" without reading just to boost post count for some reason and it should be judgment of mod to identify them.

Guys, bans...
arrowheads was just banned by Kennigit.
That account was created on 2012-08-09 23:06:22 and had 1 posts.
Reason: tfw 1 post. tfw banned after 1 post. tfw Kennigit takes out the trash.

This is a thread for bans, not milly moggled posting debates!

It just seems a bit ridiculous to punish someone for that. It's not like they're actually doing anything negative, so I don't see why anything should happen. Maybe the mod could politely PM them, but apart from that I wouldn't think action needs to be taken.

If we were to ban for one liners I'd be in serious trouble haha. "+1" and "this" etc. get warned though. If you want to post, at least put a few seconds of effort into it

I've posted this before in this thread but I once had a dream that I was banned from TL by Jinro with the reason "for posting as many 1-liners as flamewheel".
