Sometimes personal attacks are okay on TL if you are of a certain forum social standing, but otherwise is bannable for all regular folk. Which is REALLY just a shame, because so many people need to be told they are uhhh what's the politically liberal euphemism... minimally exceptional.

I have just discovered the joy that is reading the automated ban list, looks like this never gets old.
Sometimes personal attacks are okay on TL if you are of a certain forum social standing, but otherwise is bannable for all regular folk. Which is REALLY just a shame, because so many people need to be told they are uhhh what's the politically liberal euphemism... minimally exceptional.
They're pretty much never okay, just some people can get away without punishment due to their standing. Lack of punishment doesn't mean it's okay to do it though.

But according to the original quote provided in this ABL, that means that these events would have had to transpire:
- user makes bad post and gets warned
- user edits his post but leaves in the warning
- ABL poster quotes said edited post with warning into this thread
- I check out post and see the warning is gone, meaning he later edited out the warning itself
