Even if it isn't him, banning over a name that doesn't include any vulgarity, obscenity, racism etc... Is a damn stupid policy, and EvilTeletubby's comment on the automated ban signs a superiority complex. Just because something does not tickle your fancy doesn't mean you should wave your fickle fingers at them and abuse the power you are supposed to moderate with. Wouldn't be surprised if he just scans the member list to see names he dislikes to remove them.
I'll take a wild guess here and assume they all got hit over the head with the tuby hammer once upon a time lol

If teletubby really is a dick, then how does he ban people? Surely having assumed the shape of the male genitalia would render you somewhat impaired in the field of permanently banning people from a website.
Other than that, I'm not sure what people are getting mad about in the reddit thread. That USAUSAUSASTARCRAFT guy has made some really really good videos, and he should be allowed on TL, but the fact that his ID is in ALL CAPS and is reciting a meme on TL that most often receives a ban/warning when uttered in an LR thread, well, just get a different name for TL?
I dunno why reddit has decided that they needed to get their panties in a twist over this.

What amuses me is that I always thought of ETT as the mod who was a bit quicker off the draw against banworthy anti-American posts than other mods. Seeing the 51st Fighting Pitchfork Division of Reddit march on him for banning an apparently pro-American username slightly boggles my mind.

This is a summary of so much interaction on reddit it's amazing. I've seen great things, and greatly disappointing things, out of reddit, which is why I confine my activities to TL. Whenever all seems lost, at least on TL I have the ABL to lull me to sleep each night.

Well I think that whole USAUSAUSASTARCRAFT thread on Reddit would have been avoided if it was originally clear that the TL user isn't the same as the youtube user. We ask low post users to choose another user name all the time. This one just got attention because the youtube user is famous (I'm a big fan too).
It's always interesting to see what other communities think of our community. Between the absurd criticism and white knights (does that work in this case?) there and some good suggestions. It's always good to stay humbled.
