To all the playoffs participants: Congratulations on advancing to the TLCMAT playoffs! The following interviews were conducted in order to HYPE up the playoffs, and so that the TL community can get to know each player better. So, without further ado, here are the Ro8 participants' interviews!

I didn't do an interview. It's weird for me to answer my own interview questions
Inflicted
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do esports wise and what do you do real world wise?) Please explain your ID as well. How did you come to choose it?
Hi, I'm Inflicted. I am a staff member for Liquipedia and mostly follow SC2 and LoL. I also do some TL calendar stuff and update Aligulac from time to time. I've been a full-time uni student for the past few years so I've had a lot time to shitpost in LRs as well. My ID was shamelessly stolen from someone I met playing MapleStory years ago, and I've used it ever since.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT?
Mmmm, it's nice.
Out of the Ro32, and the Ro16, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult and why?
Definitely Kashim, Liquipedia mafia is no match for NetWars cartel
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
I decided to go with the same winning strategy as last time and did nothing.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
I hope to show good poll results so please cheer for me.
You already know who your Ro8 opponent is going to be. Is this going to be a landslide victory for you or will it be really close? Or… Do you perhaps expect to lose?
I think Neeb can answer this one for me:
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
Well, it's either me or Seeker so the choice is obvious.
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
Kashim.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
DieuCare going 0-2. The votes must have been fixed
Who would you like to see in TLCMAT for next season and why?
Some more non-Liquipedia TL users
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s have some fun now.
You receive a knock on your door. You open it and find a briefcase waiting for you in the hallway. You bring it in and open it. You see a note that says: “Congratulations! You’ve just won $10,000,000! (or whatever the currency is for your country) However, you only have 24 hours to spend all this money. If you miss even a single cent, then it will disappear forever the next day and you’ll be in debt for $10,000,000.”
The note then explains that you cannot deposit any of this money into a bank account and that you cannot use it to invest in anything. What would you do to spend all $10,000,000 in just one day?
Sounds like a money laundering scheme, I'm not touching it.
You wake up one day on a deserted island and the seven others in the TLCMAT playoffs are there with you. Suddenly, you hear a voice out of nowhere saying that you are all about to play a survival game that will last for one week. You are then told that you need to elect a leader who can distribute responsibilities to each and every other member. You also are notified that out of the 8 people on the island, 2 people are actually traitors who put you on that island. If these 2 people can successfully kill off all the other members and become the only 2 remaining alive by the end of the week, they will win an enormous fortune.
Who do you elect leader? Who are the 2 traitors? (Feel free to include yourself) How do you find out who these 2 traitors are and how do you lynch them before it’s too late?
The leader would be salle of course. 2 Americans who don't contribute to Liquipedia, it's obvious who the traitors are.
The TLCMAT playoffs has an opportunity to take place in a real live event anywhere in the world where all expenses will be paid for. Where would you want to go and why would you want to go there?
Nowhere in particular.
Right before the TLCMAT playoffs start, you receive a letter in your mailbox from an anonymous person. The letter states that one of the qualified 8 finalists is not who they say they are and that they have an ulterior motive for participating in the TLCMAT. Who hid their identity and what is their motive?
Seeker is actually an American using his Korean citizenship to gain those Aligulac points.
FINAL QUESTION! A fictional character comes to life and tracks you down for an important mission. You have the ability to enter their world with them and alter the events that occurred within their storyline.
Which character came to life and tracked you down? Which event do you choose to alter within their storyline and why?
Enel losing to Luffy was some Deus Ex Machina bullshit. I'd help him with that moon spaceship technology so he can finally fulfill his dream of being the pirate king.
CynicalDeath
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do esports wise and what do you do real world wise?) Please explain your ID as well. How did you come to choose it?
Hi, I'm Gio(rgio) from Italy, I'm thirthy-*couhgs* years old. I'm LP Staff and I work mainly on the sc2 wiki. IRL I work in the tourism sector in Venezia, where I do live. I've always played a lot of different-genre games, especially when I was younger: I started my "RTS life" with the old Dune (no comments on that pls), followed by the C&C saga and then Blizzard came with Warcraft: when at last StarCraft came out I jumped into it and never left it... now I have way less time to play but I still like to do it when I have some spare time (on rare weekends)... My ID, that I have since forever, comes from the two bands I like the most of the musical scene (Cynic and Death), which were two of the very few bands to pioneer non-onanistic-technicality in death metal.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT?
I felt happy, it’s the third time in a row and glad to be a part of this community.
Out of the Ro32, and the Ro16, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult and why?
My first match in the Ro32 was against Kashim so I thought of being already out since he’s got a nice fanbase. I felt surprised winning against him, and my win against DARKING, whom I lost last year, was pretty unexpected as well.
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
Last year I went out in the Ro8 and was far far better than I could ever expect. I hope to advance to the Ro4 this time, to make a better result than last year but I fear salle will stop me
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
I’d really like to get to the finals but, seeing the people in the Ro8 idk how fair that would really be tbh.
You already know who your Ro8 opponent is going to be. Is this going to be a landslide victory for you or will it be really close? Or… Do you perhaps expect to lose?
I’ll lose pretty badly I suppose, I am vs. a giant of LP and a really nice and socializing guy so I don’t have much hope to pass this turn.
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I work pretty hard on the sc2 wiki, both in live editing and in the "behind the scenes", and I'm getting better the more time I spend here so fuel me with your votes!
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
The remaining players are all pretty though but I think Inflicted, salle and Kashim stand among them as the possible contenders for the Finals.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
FO-nTTaX, razarza exiting in the Ro16 was surprising. Swampy, Clubfan and Ricci exiting in the Ro32 was almost disgustingly inexplicable.
Who would you like to see in TLCMAT for next season and why?
Liquipedia Power!
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s have some fun now.

The note then explains that you cannot deposit any of this money into a bank account and that you cannot use it to invest in anything. What would you do to spend all $10,000,000 in just one day?
I’d buy "a couple" of cars (Nissan GTR first ofc), a couple of (little) houses around the world and maybe build and refurnish a TaKeTV-ish place where to make the other 2 HSC that would allow us to have 4 in a year instead of 2. I'd help my closest friends with their basic needings (50k each should work). What would be left I’d give for charity.

tldr
The TLCMAT playoffs has an opportunity to take place in a real live event anywhere in the world where all expenses will be paid for. Where would you want to go and why would you want to go there?
I'd seen it well as a side-event of Blizzcon with us playing a "neutral" old cabinet game (in which noone excels possibly) just to have fun... obviously the losers would be sacrificed in splatter Saw-ish fashion but that's just to make things funnier
Right before the TLCMAT playoffs start, you receive a letter in your mailbox from an anonymous person. The letter states that one of the qualified 8 finalists is not who they say they are and that they have an ulterior motive for participating in the TLCMAT. Who hid their identity and what is their motive?
...salle (ofc) who clearly participates only to overthrow the TLHQ and take possession of TL and LP at the same time
FINAL QUESTION! A fictional character comes to life and tracks you down for an important mission. You have the ability to enter their world with them and alter the events that occurred within their storyline.
Which character came to life and tracked you down? Which event do you choose to alter within their storyline and why?
Cthulhu that comes to teach me the way of the Ancient Ones. I'd help him to get out of his eternal sleep in R'yleh to bring a bit of chaos to Earth...

+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do esports wise and what do you do real world wise?) Please explain your ID as well. How did you come to choose it?
Hi I'm Erik, I'm the Head of Liquipedia and have been since 2012. And also now the person in charge of the ads on our websites, sorry for all the terrible ones, thanks to all who aren't ad blocking.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT?
It's always nice to be nominated, I don't think I'm that big a figure outside of liquipedia, but the liquipedia community is growing every year (so I must be doing something right, right?)
Out of the Ro32, and the Ro16, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult and why?
I didn't pay that much attention, I even thought I was out in the round of 16 group stage. So this PM was a surprise.
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
I have been too busy to actually do anything this year. I read through the nominations, I voted a couple of times (on LP people when they linked the thread in our discord.)
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
I don't have a goal, I would like to win but I am also content going out in round of 8 vs CynicalDeath.
You already know who your Ro8 opponent is going to be. Is this going to be a landslide victory for you or will it be really close? Or… Do you perhaps expect to lose?
I'm not holding out too much hope on winning this round, but nor did I expect to go through any other.
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I'm Swedish. My porn star name would be SC2 themed (Lance Thermal)... I am the scape goat for everything bad that ever happens on the wiki.
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
I don't know all who are still in it :x So since I lost to bisudagger once already so I guess it wouldn't be too surprising if I lost to him again.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
Maybe Ricci, but the voting is pretty SC2/BW biased so it's not too surprising.
Who would you like to see in TLCMAT for next season and why?
Not Seeker, not because he doesn't deserve it but it's clearly wrong for the organizer to be part of it too.
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s have some fun now.
You receive a knock on your door. You open it and find a briefcase waiting for you in the hallway. You bring it in and open it. You see a note that says: “Congratulations! The note then explains that you cannot deposit any of this money into a bank account and that you cannot use it to invest in anything. What would you do to spend all $10,000,000 in just one day?
Spending a sizable amount of money on non investments is hard. So donating it all to charity is probably the simplest. Either The Swedish Children's Cancer Research Fund or Doctor's Without Borders. Or both...
You wake up one day on a deserted island and the seven others in the TLCMAT playoffs are there with you. Suddenly, you hear a voice out of nowhere saying that you are all about to play a survival game that will last for one week. Who do you elect leader? Who are the 2 traitors? (Feel free to include yourself) How do you find out who these 2 traitors are and how do you lynch them before it’s too late?
I suck at Mafia.
The TLCMAT playoffs has an opportunity to take place in a real live event anywhere in the world where all expenses will be paid for. Where would you want to go and why would you want to go there?
A submarine base in the mariana trench with a glass dome ceiling and huge search lights shining up in the water above illuminating the weird creatures.
Right before the TLCMAT playoffs start, you receive a letter in your mailbox from an anonymous person. The letter states that one of the qualified 8 finalists is not who they say they are and that they have an ulterior motive for participating in the TLCMAT. Who hid their identity and what is their motive?
Everyone hides at least part of their identity, just different parts to different people.
FINAL QUESTION! A fictional character comes to life and tracks you down for an important mission. You have the ability to enter their world with them and alter the events that occurred within their storyline.
Which character came to life and tracked you down? Which event do you choose to alter within their storyline and why?
I'd try to save the starving kids in Grave of the Fireflies.
DARKING
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do esports wise and what do you do real world wise?) Please explain your ID as well. How did you come to choose it?
Hello. My name is Eduardo Tavitas, better known online as DARKING. In real life I'm a 31 years old Mexican programmer. Over the internet I'm better known as being THE GUY for Liquipedia in Latin America, mostly SC2 but I also dable in the wikis for other games. I'm also a player representative in OSC, and the main admin for the weekly tournament Sentimiento Latino.
As for how my name came to be, it was simple: I was 13 years old, and wanted an "edgy" name. DARKING came as dark + king, minus a k because doble k looked silly. I was in luck that it was a good nickname, and have been using it since then.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT?
I'll be honest, I was kinda expecting it once the season was announced. I was 3rd place last time, so I was not worried I would not get in.
Out of the Ro32, and the Ro16, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult and why?
I was not expecting very difficult matches. I really thought I was favored in both my Ro32 and Ro16 groups, which is why I was surprised when CynicalDeath beated me in our match. I won't underestimate my opponents like that again.
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
It feels good to be participating again. Just being nominated is pretty cool 'cause it shows that the community still supports you. There is not a change of plans for this season, just a change in scope. Try to get to more people in and out of the site to gain votes.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
This season is to see if I could do even better than last time. Each season I've placed higher, and so my goal this time is 1st place. Anything less would be defeat.
You already know who your Ro8 opponent is going to be. Is this going to be a landslide victory for you or will it be really close? Or… Do you perhaps expect to lose?
I'll be honest, I'm not sure. BisuDagger comes from a different game community than me (BW vs SC2), and one has to never underestimate the BW community. So I'm kind of in the dark to predict how close or not this match is going to be. I am still confident I can make it tho.
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I'm Mexican, bilingual, and have put much effort into community projects for many years! People know that whatever I've done I have do so with passion and love for the community.
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
CynicalDeath is the obvious answer, and he has beated me once already. I would see a future where the finals is me vs him. Gemini is also another one to look out for. He is the dark horse of this season, beating even the current champion FO in the Ro16.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
Clubfan losing in the Ro32, as last place was kinda surprising. Ricci I had high hopes for him, tho he got a difficult group. FO is definitely the one that surprised me the most, losing to both Seeker and Gemini. I thought for sure he was like an automatic seed to the playoffs.
Who would you like to see in TLCMAT for next season and why?
I would like to see more latin american people. Unfortunately there are not very many on the site, and those that do are usually not very vocal. C'mon my people, rise up!
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s have some fun now.
You receive a knock on your door. You open it and find a briefcase waiting for you in the hallway. You bring it in and open it. You see a note that says: “Congratulations! If you miss even a single cent, then it will disappear forever the next day and you’ll be in debt for $10,000,000.”
The note then explains that you cannot deposit any of this money into a bank account and that you cannot use it to invest in anything. What would you do to spend all $10,000,000 in just one day?
Not being able to deposit in a back account is kinda hard, cause I would make a quick online esport tournament and give it out as prize money. I suppose the most sensible thing to do would be to buy land. 10 million is a good size piece of land, and could be profitable in no time.
I would elect Seeker as a leader. He organized this event, so I'm guessing his skills to manage people must be good. One of the traitors it's easy, it's salle, because #blamesalle. I would literally just jump to him and take him out asap. The other once would be harder to detect. Two Americans, one Italian, and one Australian. Each one could easily be as traitorous as the others. With salle out, the other one would be more nervous and more inclined to make a mistake. I would bet Inflicted would be the other traitor.
The TLCMAT playoffs has an opportunity to take place in a real live event anywhere in the world where all expenses will be paid for. Where would you want to go and why would you want to go there?
It would be in Las Vegas! We would rent out some venue where we could put nightly shows, where the 8 participants would put some kind of show to show off their skills and thus try to gain the peoples votes!
Right before the TLCMAT playoffs start, you receive a letter in your mailbox from an anonymous person. The letter states that one of the qualified 8 finalists is not who they say they are and that they have an ulterior motive for participating in the TLCMAT. Who hid their identity and what is their motive?
Seeker. He has come to sabotage the TLCMAT and bring about its destruction so that he does not have to organize it year after year.
FINAL QUESTION! A fictional character comes to life and tracks you down for an important mission. You have the ability to enter their world with them and alter the events that occurred within their storyline.
Which character came to life and tracked you down? Which event do you choose to alter within their storyline and why?
That would be Kelsier, from the Mistborn books. He has come to add me to his crew to help him topple the Lord Ruler. I would alter the end, where Sazed takes the Shards of Ruin and Preservation, and have me take them instead so that I would ascend and become a god. Good times.
BisuDagger
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do esports wise and what do you do real world wise?) Please explain your ID as well. How did you come to choose it?
I’m the #1 Bisu Fan on TL. Since I became a father my contributions have been limited to managing Liquibet 1 and casting Korean Tournaments that Tastosis don’t cast (most recently DSL3). In the real world I’m program simulations that include Apaches, Chinooks, Blackhawks, the Boeing 737, 777x, AR/VR 787, and currently Cranes (yes cranes!).
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT?
After winning TLCMAT season 3 I was ecstatic. I think I carry the burden of being a protoss fan well and people respect that. TLCMAT4 I was happy to be eliminated early cause my new born would prevent me from being able to be a fierce contributor. For TLCMAT5 I plan on taking the gloves of for the next round, so whoever has me next better watch out.
Out of the Ro32, and the Ro16, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult and why?
I expected to make the ro8. I may not have a Yoshi icon that wins me easy votes, but I was still confident.
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
In the season that I won, I don’t think I lived up to my promises as well as I would have liked. This season, no promises after getting votes, I am going to just do things ahead of time and have fun with it.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
I will be happy to have a ro4 finish, but hopefully I can make my run hilarious.
You already know who your Ro8 opponent is going to be. Is this going to be a landslide victory for you or will it be really close? Or… Do you perhaps expect to lose?
Darking and I should be very close. I’m glad I got someone I recognize as a great guy on TL. I feel bad, but I don’t know what Gemini and Kashim do on TL. If I meet either of them in the round of 4 I’ll flatten them like banana pancakes.
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I’m not a KT fan, isn’t that enough?
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
I would say Seeker. I can’t understand how Seeker didn’t win this last season. I think it’s a runoff between Seeker and Inflicted to win the whole thing.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
KadaverBB. Why you hate Yoshi people?
Who would you like to see in TLCMAT for next season and why?
I would like Season 6 to be TLCMAT Black. In the next season we vote in the most infamous users of all time and vote to determine who has made our lives worse for having read their posts.
I heard Seeker is accepting dirty money for free wins. I’d give the 10 mill to him and win TLCMAT5.
Who do you elect leader? Who are the 2 traitors? (Feel free to include yourself) How do you find out who these 2 traitors are and how do you lynch them before it’s too late?
Cynical and Salle are clearly the traitors. You think they are really spending all this time entering data on wiki pages? The rigged that system and got themselves large stacks of coins. If they are willing to cheat for virtual coin icons then of course they’d be willing to betray us too.
To set a trap I’d host a fake tournament. They can’t resist making tournament brackets. We’d ambush them while they were busy churning wiki code.
The TLCMAT playoffs has an opportunity to take place in a real live event anywhere in the world where all expenses will be paid for. Where would you want to go and why would you want to go there?
The playoffs would take place on base where Bisu is residing in the military. The playoff would consist of Bisu trivia and Bisu would be the judge.
Right before the TLCMAT playoffs start, you receive a letter in your mailbox from an anonymous person. The letter states that one of the qualified 8 finalists is not who they say they are and that they have an ulterior motive for participating in the TLCMAT. Who hid their identity and what is their motive?
So much mystery in this TLCMAT. Obviously the letter is from me. My motive for winning will force opterown to play in the next season so that he can also be a two time champ. Then we can battle it out again because I am undefeated in rematches.
FINAL QUESTION! A fictional character comes to life and tracks you down for an important mission. You have the ability to enter their world with them and alter the events that occurred within their storyline.
Which character came to life and tracked you down? Which event do you choose to alter within their storyline and why?
I’d enter the Dragon Ball Z world. I would charge the Spirit Bomb in one episode instead of 7 episodes and it would hit Vegeta successfully. Then we wouldn’t have to worry about him or Future Swim Trunks constantly annoying us.
Gemini
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do esports wise and what do you do real world wise?) Please explain your ID as well. How did you come to choose it?
Hi my name is Gemini, I'm a 23 year old Protoss player who's been playing SC2 ever since WoL Beta came out in the beginning of 2010 and also toyed with BW as a kid years before. Since then I've been a fan of the game and played competitively and have been GM multiple seasons. Since I'm also in school to be a teacher, I enjoy sharing my knowledge with anyone who cares to listen and have been doing so with different strategy guides and videos over the years. My most popular one is the Build of the Week which is also featured here on TL.net.
I came up with my name because when I first was introduced to the SC2 scene and esports I found a website called the SC2Armory and needed a username. Since I had been mostly playing FPS games before that I wanted something new. I always have liked astronomy so I looked at a constellation chart for cool sounding names and picked out Gemini. It's also the name of the Gemini Program which was an important aspect of the Space Race during the Cold War (I'm going to be a history teacher if you couldn't tell). I knew it was also a horoscope so I figured I might as well see if I was a Gemini too, even though I don't pay attention to anything related to horoscopes or astrology. Either the site I looked at was wrong or the dates changed because I remember seeing something that said I was a Gemini but I'm actually a Taurus. But it's really because I've always loved anything to do with astronomy since I was a kid so I wanted a name inspired from that. 19 was just my favorite number so I tacked it on at the end since Gemini was already taken on the website.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT?
It felt great. I actually don't consider myself a large member of the TL.net community since I've mostly focused on other sites, but it's nice to know that people liked me enough and thought I did enough to be nominated for this fun tournament. It definitely caught me by surprise.
Out of the Ro32, and the Ro16, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult and why?
As much as I joked how easily I could 2-0 a group with Seeker, FO-nTTaX, and razarza in it I knew that would be the most difficult. They're definitely much more established than I am on TL and have been doing TLCMATs for a while so I wouldn't be too dissappointed if I ended up losing in the Ro16. But I also knew that I still could get through otherwise I wouldn't have said anything.
You did not participate in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it for this season? Did you tell yourself that you were going to try to do things differently than what the participants from last season decided to do?
Like I said, it surprised me to be nominated so I didn't come in with much expectations or anything. However, since this is the first time I'm in the tournament I'd love to royal road it. I can always use some nice ego boosting so it would be fun to defy expectations as a darkhorse.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
The previous answer kind of answered this but I definitely want to go as far as possible to make me feel important.
You already know who your Ro8 opponent is going to be. Is this going to be a landslide victory for you or will it be really close? Or… Do you perhaps expect to lose?
Kashim does a lot of work for the wiki and posts a bunch of the WCS events threads but it doesn't really matter to me. I'll beat whoever I match against.
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
I'm the "new" guy. I've never been in TLCMAT before. I want to royal road it and I think the amount of work I've done substantiates my want to win. I've made 29 in depth strategy guides ever since patch 4.0 came out in November when I started sharing them on TL as well and am single handedly holding up the TL Strategy representation. All the while I'm watching just about every game of Starcraft that I can, continuing to keep my skill at a GM level, coaching multiple different students, and making plenty of other educational and entertaining SC2 content. I also did some writing pieces in the past for TL. I'd say I'm one of the hardest workers here but I do prefer to stay humble.
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
I'd say Seeker is the toughest. I unfortunately didn't get to match vs him in the Ro16 like I wanted to, but he's a mainstay of TL and the TLCMAT and I respect the amount of work he's put into the SC scene.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
I would have expected Wax and Mizen to go farther. They don't really give a shit about a meaningless ego boosting tournament though because they're too cool to have fun so they didn't bother trying to get votes, however I still expected their notoriety to push them farther.
Who would you like to see in TLCMAT for next season and why?
Myself again obviously.
I'd contract all of the teamless Koreans and reform them all into individual teams to bring back Proleague and sponsor it until the end of time to make myself the undisputed king of Korean support and be loved by all. I'd also use it to attention whore every SC2 streamer by showering them with multiple thousand dollar donations.
Considering that I know so little about all of the other playoff members because I don't frequent the forums as much as others I'm probably one of the two people that set everyone up. This is actually my elaborate scheme to take further hold of the SC community and supplant myself as the greatest and most influential community member. I've already taken control of Reddit and Twitter so TL was the last land that I had yet to conquer. The scheme goes so deep that I'm not even partnered with anyone. Someone else thinks that they're partnered with me but I'm actually just going to kill them anyway. This whole thing is mine. I won't rest until I have the entire SC community bowing at my feet and feeding me fresh fruit and salty tears of all the Terran and Zerg I slay on ladder.
The funny thing about this story is that it's probably what any of my haters from reddit actually think I imagine myself as.
The TLCMAT playoffs has an opportunity to take place in a real live event anywhere in the world where all expenses will be paid for. Where would you want to go and why would you want to go there?
Obviously they would be taking place in the Mecca of esports: South Korea. What better place to crown the new champion of the SC2 community than right in the heart of Seoul with Tastosis bestowing the honors. In fact, I was under the assumption that's how this whole thing was going down anyway. When are they contacting us about flight scheduling?
Right before the TLCMAT playoffs start, you receive a letter in your mailbox from an anonymous person. The letter states that one of the qualified 8 finalists is not who they say they are and that they have an ulterior motive for participating in the TLCMAT. Who hid their identity and what is their motive?
It's Liquid'HerO back to confess his true love to me so that we can get married and live happily ever after. We also adopt Trap as our son.
FINAL QUESTION! A fictional character comes to life and tracks you down for an important mission. You have the ability to enter their world with them and alter the events that occurred within their storyline.
Which character came to life and tracked you down? Which event do you choose to alter within their storyline and why?
I'm running out of creative answers so I'm just going to say Captain Jack Sparrow comes and whisks me off to the Black Pearl and we spend the rest of our days doing stupid pirate things together.
Kashim
+ Show Spoiler [Interview] +
First off, please introduce yourself to the TL community. (What do you do esports wise and what do you do real world wise?) Please explain your ID as well. How did you come to choose it?
Hi, I'm Kashim from Poland. I'm currently recruitment manager at Comrade Gaming. I’m also tournaments organizer and administrator and starcraft liquipedia editor. My nickname is from the main character in anime Full Metal Panic.
In order to participate in the TLCMAT, you had to be nominated in. How did you feel when members of the community nominated you in so that you could take part in this season’s TLCMAT?
I'm happy about the nomination. From this place I would like to thank CynicalDeath who nominated me again.
Out of the Ro32, and the Ro16, which match/matches did you anticipate was/were going to be the most difficult and why?
Every opponent was difficult. Especially when I got in Ro32 group with CynicalDeath and Waxangel. They are great persons on the sc2 scene but somehow I maneged to took a 2nd place. Ro16 group was a little bit easier :D
You participated in the previous season of TLCMAT. How does it feel to participate in it again this season? What did you tell yourself that you were going to do differently this time around than last time?
Yes, I participated in the previous edition. It's great to be here again.
What is your goal for this season? How badly do you want to win the championship?
At least finals. But we'll see what the future will bring.
You already know who your Ro8 opponent is going to be. Is this going to be a landslide victory for you or will it be really close? Or… Do you perhaps expect to lose?
Nah. I'm pretty sure I win easy against Gemini.
Why should people vote for you? What exactly makes you stand out among the rest?
Why should they vote for me? As I said in 1st question I'm tournaments organizer and administrator and starcraft liquipedia editor. People appreciate my work on sc2 especially Polish people (they probably vote for me the most here).
Out of the players remaining in the playoffs, who do you consider to be the toughest opponent(s) that could hinder you from winning the whole thing? Why so?
The toughest opponents? Probably CynicalDeath or salle. They works so hard here.
Out of the players who did not make it to the playoffs, which one(s) surprised you the most by the fact that they got eliminated? How far did you think they were going to go?
FO-nTTaX - 3rd place in Ro16 group surprised me the most. He should easily advance to Playoffs.
Who would you like to see in TLCMAT for next season and why?
In addition to voting to people, you can do a 1v1 tournament or showmatch in each game (participants from sc2 playing each other etc.)
BAH! Boring questions… Let’s have some fun now.

The note then explains that you cannot deposit any of this money into a bank account and that you cannot use it to invest in anything. What would you do to spend all $10,000,000 in just one day?
Oh man. 10,000,000 PLN in 24h it’s impossible to spend :d But for sure I’ll buy a house(nice big house) or residence (ofc not in Poland) probably somewhere in Europe, car – for everyone who has a driving license in my family :D I'll organize sc2 tournament with big prize pool in the same day ofc and I have no idea what else I can do with these money XD

I would choose CynicalDeath as a leader. Two traitor’s are probably BisuDagger and Gemini. How will I know that these are traitors? It's simple one is bw fanatic and second is protoss player hehe.
The TLCMAT playoffs has an opportunity to take place in a real live event anywhere in the world where all expenses will be paid for. Where would you want to go and why would you want to go there?
Oh yes, I'll definitely go to live event wherever they would take place. Live streamed votes on twitch chat channel and few showmatches in sc2 for sure.
Right before the TLCMAT playoffs start, you receive a letter in your mailbox from an anonymous person. The letter states that one of the qualified 8 finalists is not who they say they are and that they have an ulterior motive for participating in the TLCMAT. I don't know who could impersonate one of the participants. It's a little bit stupid in community vote :D
FINAL QUESTION! A fictional character comes to life and tracks you down for an important mission. You have the ability to enter their world with them and alter the events that occurred within their storyline.
Which character came to life and tracked you down? Which event do you choose to alter within their storyline and why?
I like The Flash (TV Series) so definitely one of "villain" in this series comes to life but I don't know exactly who should it be :D I saw this long time ago and not remember all the story. But you know what I'll definitely ask Flash for help with this villain and close it to the end.
