Damn, I whould support this, seing as how I'm a huge fan of iNcontroL, but then I saw this:
...and her answer to the evolution question. That is total bullshit. I'm now actually glad she didn't make it. I just can't believe iNcontroL, who seems like such a smart guy, is dating someone who thinks that "evolution is one of many valid theories". Sure, it's possible her answer was tailored to fit with the conservative audience that you should assume a contest like this would have, but even so, sinking to their level to appease them is pretty low.

You're disappointed because she pleads for tolerance instead of black and white choices? There's nothing more pathetic than an atheist who doesn't know anything about the religions he refuses to follow.
Does she actually believe that, or is it just to attract random american audience ?
edit: after watching the videos of other contestants, they all answered the same to that question. I guess they can't all be that stupid, so that just must be a way to get more votes from religious nutjobs :p

Luckily hes not as cynical as you are. Dating someone who shares your exact opinion on everything must be fun! I would be quite dissappointed if she pulled her answer out of her ass as well, but she believes in ID so that answer is legit.
Anyways, this has already been discussed and mods got furious. Gl with your bigger stuff coming up Anna.

I'm honestly not sure how our lady won that. Weird stuff.
She is more blonde? This is why these contests never grabbed my attention. Every winner looks the same, always some too-skinny blonde with an awkward smile and too much makeup.
Anna has class yet she doesn't make it past that New Mexico bimbo? I just don't get it.
Next year Anna, we are always behind you.
A short report about the contest was in the news today, and funnily enough, the last year's winner was Ms. Rima Fakih with a family from Lebanon running as Miss Michigan, as far away from blonde as you can get and not looking anorexic.

Out of pure curiosity(I'm not trying to judge anything ^^), does this competition get a lot of attention in the U.S.? Because in Germany you'll have to look hard to find anything about something like that on T.V. (maybe in a 15 second fluff peace).
How can people watch crap like this, walk up to a mic then yell your name and state... It makes them look so dumb. Obviously I cannot generalize the entire process and say it makes them look dumb but for some reason that really didn't work for me.
Before flaming please note that I am fully supportive of smart women trying to make a difference, but did not even remotely enjoy that segment due to the format the organizers decided to force on the contestants.
Also, her answer to the evolution in schools question was really good.
Oh my, I am glad I did not vote for her Glad that the winner was sophisticated enough to understand that the place for teaching biblical theories is church, not a fucking school.

If we want to walk the line of extreme technicality, discussing intelligent design is not discussing religion. The difference between creationism and intelligent design is the religiosity of the support. (Yes, that's a real word.) Of course, the mods will ban as they feel is necessary, but I think that as long as people focus on the idea and not the religious aspect of it, and don't derail, they'll skate by.
Personally, I take science more seriously than the opinions of the girlfriend of an good SC2 player.
Props to Miss California, self proclaimed (hot) science geek.
For those who've heard her on State of the Game, they should realize the way she got portrayed wasn't quite the way she is. Gj to the winner and I think she got 4th place, which isn't bad. That's 4th out of more women than guys who compete in tournament SC. So I'll give you props.
Also for those who don't understand, this is different from how a lot of guys might think, if you've ever had to watch this before you'll notice they are professional and classy. Which I appreciate. gg Anna, gl on anything else you do.
