Seems kind of unbelievable and farfetched to be on 3rd page after 10 games of solo queues on a brand new account (regardless of what skill level you clicked). Like.. I'd like to see if even Dendi could pull that off.
I just looked it up, I played 12 games on the account and 9 out of these games were with a buddy who also created a completely fresh account on the beginner setting. I lost one game and in another game a teammate disconnected after a couple of minutes.

edit: Don't focus too much on the 3rd page thing though, it was at 2 or 3 AM in the morning CET so there were only about 1000 pages of games active iirc. If you play at a more crowded time there can be up to 2000+ pages of active games, so in relation that would be a lower page of maybe 6, 8 or 10 depending on how many high MMR players are playing. The key thing for me was that I was in a game with rmN- and Tzar who are legitimately good players.
Also, and I think thats really important, I played a game on my little brother's account a few weeks ago who really tanked his MMR because he's 11 years old, really bad and often has to shut off the PC in the middle of a game because he is only allowed to play for a certain period of time per day. So he plays in the MMR regions where people have stats like 10 - 30 with 15 disconnects and usually 2 or 3 people leave the game midway through. Anyway, I picked Sniper and completely rolled over the enemy team with a completely ridiculous score of like 50 - 1, and after that my brother got a message before he queued for the next match that the previous game (which I played for him) didn't count into his matchmaking rating because it was too far off from his usual performance or something like that (the words were different and I don't exactly remember them, but that was the notion). That tells me that they definitely change your MMR based on performance. How exactly they acquire information about the performance that is accurate, I have no damn clue. But thats also the reason why they don't show any numbers to the players I think, because then it would be easy to figure out and exploit the Matchmaking.

I'd like to see if even Dendi could pull that off. It is entirely possible actually, when dendi makes a new account it hits very high in less then 10 games. If you completely outperform your teammates many games in a row it will skyrocket you in mmr until you start losing. My evidence is that on my first smurf account I closely watched the average number of wins of all the people I was matched against, it took me seven games to go from playing with people who had 2-20 wins to people with 300+ like my main. edit- I played mostly solo queue and maybe 2 or 3 with one friend who was literally brand new to dota.
i thought people are saying your in game stats doesn't count? if so how do they account for your "outperformance"?
|
I dont now how it works (and I dont think anyone posting here really does), but I do know that winning 4 or 5 games in a row in very convincing fashion causes your mmr to skyrocket from the bottom. Maybe in game stats are not taken into account, but I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if valve implemented a system to cause people who destroy (like, 33-1 naix or w/e, which happens to a lot of people when the play their first games on a smurf.) to be moved higher in mmr then people who did reasonably well and won.

So I just lost a game because the CK on our team decided to sell all his items, buy a rapier and then walk inside the enemy base thus feeding them a rapier.
Seems legit.

Sooo i got a genuine qq, about me, and hell do i feel dumb;o Last few days I am playing terribly, and by that I mean just baaaaaad. Out of my last 10 games, I think I won something like two, and that is only because my teammates somehow made up for my failures. The rest of the games, I was at fault for losing every single one of them. As in 4-14 drow, 2-10 Jug (a hero I had 90% win rate with), etc. Failing as carry hard, failing mid even harder. One game I was finally winning mid, we had a dc. Imma go ahead and play support till i manage to get my shit together I think, anyway, though I doubt any my teammates are on TL, sorry On a side note, flaming does not help. At all. One of the bad games i played, and yes i was at fault for losing, i started getting flamed two mins into the game. => went on tilt harder, failed even more. Instead of flaming ppl should given sound advice, or even better, try to get the guy who is messing up in the right state of mind. Flaming and inteam fighting only increases your chances of losing, which imho is as bad as a guy who is playing subpar

Exactly that, remember that 20% of the time you're going to be the worst player in your team yourself. A lot of people feel that if they're doing bad "only" one game out of five means that they are much better when what their current MMR is. This is an illusion, 4/5 of the time you and your time will have to carry a player that is worse than you. Try to get a more positive attitude and you'll have better games overall, as iokee said flaming will only make your teammates play worse. Also an advice that worked well for me, if someone starts to talk in russian answer: "i don't speak russian, can you speak english please". If they don't aknowledge you, mute them and keep playing, but sometimes (like it happened today for me) they will say "ok i will speak english" and you'll have a great game.
|
I speak Russian too^^ So after my qq post i decide to go support, random into CM. Great, we are losing a lil bit, i buy mek just cause, see a team fight setting up in our jungle, see that we will outnumber them. Think kk, full mana, meka ready, ulti ready, we are outnumbering them, this is our chance to turn this around. Fight starts......... You have been disconnected from the game. I almost never have connection issues, must be a curse. I reconnect 30s later to know we got wiped 5-1. QQ

This is probably me being dumb, but 60% slow on auto cast for 12 mana seems utter bs from every fucking angle.

There's only one angle on a 60% slow on auto cast for 12 mana...the other angles are a 6 second aoe silence, ridiculously scaling agility, and a global damage bonus that is based off of your ridiculously scaling agility. All those angles are broken too so you may as well just talk about the hero as a whole.
Drow has some issues.

you mean on drow ? it is quite strong but I dont think thats what makes her such a pain in the ass, its the damn global dmg on creeps

thats because you pussied out, against a solo drow, you need to man the fuck up and kill her, solo or with a gank.

I remember Me lvl 9 Tiny. There lvl 9 drow.
"Easykill i think".
Run up with Phase/Drums to combo... "Silence"... I'm dead before i can cast a spell.
Pewpew.... Damage on that bitch is just beyond ridiculous.

I fed super badly in one game today, fucking hate sand king/jakiro or similar combos
actually, I hate any lane that involves jakiro

she has 0 escape abilities and any sort of stun will wreck her shit.
She might be broken lategame but her early game sucks balls. A lot of the time in early game if you get some spells off on her, and man up and fight her instead of running, her attack damage is not enough to kill you.
Standard mid heroes like QoP, tinker, invoker, TA, Rubick and even some weaker laners like NS will wreck her just through spell harass.
|
i qq about all the ppl qqing about drow....i mean it was not necessary (and should be fixed) to make her ulti global but she is not a broken hero. she is still squishy as fuck and easy gankable. i mean sure when you are stupid enough to walk alone into her silence with something like tiny *cough*.........sure you can say now "but wtf what is when they play a good 4 protect 1 *cry* *cry*"....well if you see a "good" 4 protect 1 in a pub, this team wins with every other hard carry too -.-
