If you have an urge to trash talk random strangers in a video game you probably have bigger issues in your life or you're just a douche. I guess being 15 years old is also a common denominator. Im probably too old for this shit but i can't for the life of me be mad at a player who obviously has no idea what he is doing... i just get even mader if i start a chat war with someone and my day just got a little less fun.

worst thing is im getting a bit of lag on us east, so im back on eu again. last game with the fucktards, then im off to murika, lag or no lag
I was crawling my way comfortably up away from the the 50% win rate the other day. Then hit a horrible strong of losses dragging me to just over 50% again.
Seem to be on the way back up again, despite all the russians on EUW, so fingers crossed...

See, i enjoy flaming/trashtalking with people. It's part of the fun and i also forgive people fast, it's just a part of the game for me. I enjoyed it when i was 15, I enjoyed it when i was 20, I enjoyed it when I was 25 and i still enjoy it being damn near 30.
I would counter and say, if you get angry about a little trashtalk over the internet or in a game, you probably have some issues .

I really dislike being racist, but I really really wish that Russians could just stick on their own damn server. I don't think there is anyone from EU west that wants to play with Russians. They can't communicate, and are generally annoying and flamy.

Well good for you. I have to say i do enjoy trash talk when it's witty and/or in good fun but when some mouthbreather who is playing like shit himself is flaming his team mates the whole game i do get a little annoyed.

Even Russians don't like playing with other Russians so they play on the EU West server :D

still don't quite understand....now that my win % is over 55, won my last 14 out of 17...and i still get teamed up with someone with 4 games?
|
winrate doesnt matter. Firebolt is under 50% and queue sometimes into known names
|
Number of games also doesn't matter. Unless you are at a point someone is unable to reach with that amount of games played.
The only thing that happens is that there is a huge uncertainty on whether the player with ~5 games is actually at that skill level, there is a good chance his MMR is still adjusting. You should be able to get to "High" MMR with around 5 games, for example.

Then they make believe they are awesome and have amazing MMR when they are just carried after selecting "I AM SUPER PRO TRUST ME" option. There was one such idiot in TL chat channel.

it really doesnt matter what you choose, you are either horrible, bad or acceptable. and the game detects this very quickly
its funny how many people complain about why they are matched with idiots, noobs and so on every game 90% of those suffer from the common dota 2 disease called " i think too highly of myself"

Counterpoint: even Dendi gets matched with idiots periodically.
Frankly there ARE legitimate problems with any form of matchmaking ranking system based on team games. That said its nowhere near as bad as some people make out; but neither is it as good as you seem to be implying. Instead its somewhere in the middle whereby it works to a point but with an enormous margin of error. Perhaps slightly biased in favour of people who prefer to solo mid.

because if the game is still going then if you're starting to bitch and complain you've effectively ruined it. It pisses me off when someone makes a mistake and then his teammate goes "WELL GG TEAM IS RETARDED AFK IN CAMP"
oh and there's the whole 'being a decent human being' thing. You don't care what random strangers in the street think of you either but that's no reason to spit in their faces and act like a dick

I think understanding the "everyone on my team is worse than me" effect is a little more complex than just citing Dunning-Kruger. On average, it's true that you're the best player on your team ~20% of the time, and are one of the three best 60% of the time; if you combine the statement being true a significant portion of the time with a healthy dose of confirmation bias, you could easily arrive at a sense of superiority. Further, I think fundamental attribution errors play a large role in this. Everyone has had the game where they went 0-11 or worse and had their team flame them. In the very next game, you might go 15-0 and experience the opposite reaction from your team. In the first case, your team probably thinks you're garbage, and in the second that you're amazing. With the tiny sample size of games, it's far too easy to say "this person is garbage" when they might have just had a really bad game/gotten beer in their eye (hey it happened to me once)/made a critical misclick/etc.
On top of that, most competitive games, video or not, have both a burden of knowledge and a burden of skill aspect to being "good." For instance, I think Chen is the hardest hero to play well in dota because he combines both of these. To be an effective Chen, you have to have skill (multi unit control, global map awareness) as well as knowledge (what all the creeps do). Comparatively, Rubick has a high burden of knowledge (encyclopedic knowledge of hero abilities), but a relatively low burden of skill. To complete the symmetry, Meepo has a very high burden of skill (multi unit control, last hitting, blink poofing, etc) but doesn't really require any special knowledge. Most denizens of TL/reddit/etc. have the knowledge part down pretty well, but might lag in skill. So, it's easy to say "wtf are these items/picks/ward positions/lanes this person is shit" because they don't have the same level of knowledge as you even if they are better/equal at the mechanics of playing the game.
TL;DR: Just play the game, trying to guage people's skill based off of one game is pointless.
