Please remember that while this thread is for QQ and venting about the game, racism is not tolerated here on LD. |

There are a lot of what I call fair weather players that are perfectly capable of playing decently when all they need to do is follow along, but will crumble and throw the second they need to make big decisions for themselves or step up and try to deal with a losing situation.
If you can really step up and set a pace on a game and give your allies a clear direction on how the game should go you can prevent a lot of player throws.
So things like winning your lane and securing early towers can have a disproportionally large effect on the game by giving your teammates a lot less room to screw things up.
Even if you farm insanely fast if you don't want your team to be able to throw you need to find a way to get involved early. It can even be through farming by really forcing the enemy team to respond and react to your farming (like aggressively farming lanes to force pointless rotations).

Last night playing DP stacked with a lower MMR friend. We are behind but we kill their mid rax while the enemy is 5 manning our top highground. We have a great opportunity to throne as my DP ult comes off cooldown while our sniper/oracle combo are delaying them at our base. My other two teammates spend 20 seconds dithering around buffer buildings and enemy bot rax instead of helping me take T4s/throne. Ultimately we get throne down to about 10% hp before the enemy can respond. After another 10-15 minutes we win, but it was way closer than it should've been.
After the game my friend gives me shit about going for the risky throne play and that I shouldn't have gone in when the rest of our team didn't help me commit. Fuck that - sometimes the risky play is NOT going for throne. QQ - pubs choosing wrong when thinking about the jugular.

Just got fucked by bought account. Guy was almost certainly very low skilled player. He was CM in my game, was level 5 at 20 minutes and he afk farmed woods.
This account 12 months ago guy was a good mid 4k player, did well on ember. No games for 12 months, 30 days ago first game after 12 months break, goes 1-6-1 on bristleback and goes 5 wins and 28 losses over all his games after account started to be active again.
Man, I just got fucked.

Been having a really good string of games recently with no memorably/offensively bad teammates. But then I just got this 2 stack on my team:
1. Ursa who repeatedly dives the enemy jungle, gets kited and destroyed. Ultimately doing a rage buyback, tping to enemy base to try solo destroying a ranged rax, hence losing his life
2. Sand King who jungles from minute 1 without moving to any of the lanes, dies once to the roaming venomancer, gets blink at minute 15. Continues to not help or hold TP scrolls, doesn't buy aghs or aether lens, instead going for midas (after blink), BKB and then FOURTY-MINUTE RADIANCE. Not a single decent epicentre was had on that day.
Needless to say they both flamed the team when we lost.
How the fuck do these people's brains work? Like "oh hurrdurr i want to play solo yolo all day long" might as well go play some fucking bots

I have only a few words to explain to you my feelings.
Me: "Hey Phantom Assassin, you should farm more." PA: "I'm too squishy to get kills."
After some more talking, PA says that the only way to really get farm is to get kills, and creeps and towers are meaningless. Please feel rage with me.

I'm definitely going to try improving those parts. I sometimes try to take that role, but I avoid it because you often play with people with a "don't tell me what to do"-attitude. But when it does work out, it's great. It's rare though.

9-1 as a Lifestealer who's dealt all the tower damage (3 towers down and a tier 2 at <50% health) and I have spend 20 minutes listening to my team bitch about how I'm just "going around in an ancient" because I want Magnus, SWM, or ET to land a disable against the Agh's Lina they fed 15 kills to.
I don't mind the loss, but the complaining was unbearable.

where do people get the idea that it's a good idea to dive the enemy base instead of hitting rax? especially when they're already down two sets of rax? and then have the fucking BALLS to say the loss isn't their fault?

I hate games that are longer than 60 minutes, when they could have been max. 30-40min. And I had 3 of those in a row. The best part is that we lost them all, despite winning early and mid game. The third game I was really frustrated so I took the initiative and started telling everyone exactly what we need to do. People were quite listening which surprised me, but then came the moment that lost us the game. I say lets push their rax, we have a good chance now. Our magnus decided it is better to farm jungle. When everyone asks him to come help, he just keeps farming jungle. After multiple requestes, he only writes: I need to finish AC... I am like holy shit, you don't need fucking AC, we have to push the base now. Meanwhile we are still in front of the enemy base arguing with Magnus, when they actually catch us offguard and kill us, while we manage to kill one that bought back. GG Magnus

Dota sometimes. I get on, que a game literally the first thing I see is oh god not you again proceeding just the worst type of hate for another human being possible for 5 minutes during picks. Thank god the other team just gave up and left, I decided that this wasn't the right time to play dota.

That was the fastest tilt I've ever seen.
Mid WR yells at our offlane dark seer for using the courier to get the components of his soul ring, and further responds by abandoning mid at 6 minutes to block DS's camps so he cannot stack, and camp his lane when he's not stacking.
What do.

Just lost 2 sub 20 minute games..
First game I'm a solo support rubick trying to hold together 4 other players who are continually flaming each other. The ursa who "is on a smurf and doesn't give a shit". The mid zeus who is getting 3 man roamed on. The offlane bristle who is camping at tower and spamming "we lost". And the jungle axe who is basically just afk. Throne down at 17 minutes.
Second game I'm an AM. Picks behind me are a support kunkka, a mid OD "first time OD", an offlane ET, and then the final pick, an undying who decides to dual offlane with ET. So It's me and kunkka top against a dual weaver sb lane. Completely impossible to lane against of course, the kunkka leaves because he actually can't do anything in that lane. I don't blame him for doing so. I can't get anything at all. To make matters worse, somehow the dual offlane of ET undying is losing hard, and the enemy alch gets a 10 minute armlet. Meanwhile I have yet to manage to farm boots. Undying blames me for the loss.
3rd game, we have a mid invoker. He gets dove on at minute 4 by a charging sb, and a tiny with haste along with the mid ember. We don't have tp's for him (kinda our fault, but even if i had tp, i wouldn't have had mana to do anything). He tilts right there. Buys chicken, sells all his items, tp's mid and feeds continuously.
Great games
