If you're not tryharding then CM is a bad mode to play. If someone bans storm when the other team is trying to go for a lightning strat then all theyre doing is using their bans properly, which is to ban against what you think the opponent is going to pick. Playing RD will also lead to tryhard picks since people will pick the best heroes in the pool generally. RD is considered by a lot of my friends to be the most tryhard mode because people never random awful heroes for extra gold and lose the game because of it. The only good modes to play for a casual inhouse are AP with massive restrictions, AR and SD since people wont complain about picking good heroes as much. Or you can just suck it up and lose horribly in a good team vs bad team scenario, where the bad team will learn a lot about how the good team and good team composition is played. If youre trying to get people to play dota properly it is good to pick the tryhard heroes. In 90% of my ixdl-o games the whole game is decided on the shadow demon, since he makes or breaks the trilane. If he knows how to press Q you win the lane and if he doesnt you lose it horribly, which has happened more times than I like to think about. Zoning someone out with a 600 range hero and doing it with a 500 range hero are completely different. When I play clock solo long lane and a hero like a bane tries to mess with me ill walk up to him and kill him after I get boots unless he wastes most of his mana to nightmare me. He doesnt have enough range to harass me out of lane properly, and i can generally bait someone in the trilane to get too close to me or to walk into my tower and die, at least until the player is experienced in playing vs clockwerk specifically. I just think that teaching them the game with good heroes is a lot better than teaching it with bad heroes or uncommonly picked heroes since everyone is quite different. If you're just trying to have fun and mess around then thats totally fine, but make it clear what you want to do in the ih games so you dont play vs a naix bear second pick when you first pick meepo to ensure Firebolt gets it.

I call it "Fundamental Dota" - pick the 4 Fundamentals (Wisp, CK, Kotl, Enigma) and a random fifth hero, preferably also a higher being. Elder Titan isn't an elemental, but he shares a lot of lore with them so he can be the 5th!

- Do you guys mix US and EU together or separate? (ping issues) - What is the overall skill usually? I know all the roles and what should they do, but i am not a high skill with my execution yet. - I dont't want to get flamed if i miss last hit here and there or not hit perfect spell, but i don't want to play with people who have no idea what are they doing (i.e. supports not buying support items, pushing carry lane or trying to contest farm. Carry who can't farm whatsoever and getting useless items). - What is the standard way to play CM? Does the captain pick as he wants, or do people discuss what they want to play?

But the server is always USE. This has been asked a lot. We're ranging from kinda new -> very high. Most people won't flame no, it's a casual inhouse for the TL community. It's not an Inhouse league so people are usually chill. Almost everyone knows what items to get and they will get them. Supports will buy wards etc Different captains makes for different teams. Some captains takes request from the team and others just drafts a good team and then let the rest of the team pick the hero they want to play.
