That is dumb :/ I almost always listen to requests if they come early enough (asking for void when 5th pick and we need a support doesn't work.) And I try to draft with variety, because I don't believe playing the same heroes over and over will improve you faster. e.g. as a support there are like 3 core things Positioning Movement When-you-use-your-spells (teamfight decision making) And you can practice movement and positioning with a lot of different heroes. Sand King / Vengeful / Crystal Maiden / Lina / SD etc will all have very similar movement patterns. For the most part, it's the movement that is lacking in these inhouses. A support is a "play-maker" early game. They set the pace and do a lot of decisions early. Which is why it's often the supports who are the captains in pro-teams. Positioning is very key in teamfights, but then again, there will be heroes it's very similar to each other. There are like the Initiators (Puck, Storm, Clockwerk, Meepo etc) The follow up (Sand King, Enigma, Silencer, Undying etc) The counter-initiators (Warlock, Sand King, Dark seer etc) And the I-will-sit-back-until-its-my-time-to-go (SD, Bane, Rubick etc) Often times the last category will be supports. SD is sort of a counter initiator, by disrupting the target the enemy team goes on you can waste a lot of their early spells. Similar to Vengeful Spirit who can swap out the person they are going on. Bane sit back and wait for the carry to pop their BKB and then they ulti them through BKB to hold them in place. Rubick also sit back and wait for that 1 spell to be casted so they can steal it. I don't know why or how this ended up being a guide, so don't ask me. | ||
