Lina is support but she's much more offensive oriented than CM - you can also solo mid with her, whereas CM...can't
it comes down to their ult and passive skill. CM's ult is utterly useless and her passive is global mana regen fo rthe entire team, whereas Lina's Ult is a Dagon-esque move and her passive lets her kill faster
