Look closely, it's not deathadder. Probably lachesis as someone mentionned because i've a deathadder and i don't have the 2 buttons behind the whell's thing. Edit : Oh and don't buy Deathadder if you use palms... I keep clicking on them without intentions. So it's getting pretty annoying... :[ Basically : every optical razer/microsoft/logitech are good, also the ax7 seems to be great too, but i haven't tried it so it's up to you.

It's also cheaper than the average gaming mouse even though it has great drivers and same technical stuff as the other razers. It has gotten poor reviews by noobs who thinks it's bad because "what RTS gamer would want a small and light mouse without any extra buttons?". Stupid FPS players doing reviews! ![]()

![]() G9x, I use only my fingertips to move around a mouse, so the wide grip is great for my adult size hands. Also the benefit of a high dpi, i normally run it at 3400dpi. Only downside i think is weight i don't often pick it up but still moving around a heavy mouse with fingers only gets a bit tiring. I don't care for the DA just because of the tall mid section does not favor my grip. Really the ideal fingertip mouse would be light, not that tall(height) so it doesn't interfere with your fingers trying to manipulate it. Some what short in length similar to the G9 as you don't need a backside to rest your palm on, and all that extra backside makes it hard to turn the thing. And a wide base to which your thumb and index/pinky and get a firm grip on it, total opposite of the copperhead/krat/diamondback which kind of tapers as you get down which makes holding it a bit hard, via fingers only.

I personally can't stand cordless mice, as the last time i used one, there was a slight delay from when i moved the mouse, and when the cursor moved. That and I hate charging stuff. So I splurged and spent $40 on a new mouse. ![]() it's great!

![]() its like the deathadder except with on the fly sensitivity and is wireless. is it worth the money? that depends on the person; but i shopped around for weeks before i could get a much cheaper than retail one. i reallyyyy like it. =D * i specifically was looking for an ergonomic one. i looked at other companies like logitech, steelseries, and other razer mice. the only 2 that stood out to me as ergonomic and simple were the deathadders and the mambas (lol because they are the same design.) back when i got the mamba, i FELT like i had the money to get it. of course, now i wish i had more money in my wallet; but it's a great mouse regardless.

If anything, I've always felt that they were more inconvenient because you always have to remember to recharge the batteries or else you'll end up having them die on you while you're using them. Than I had some money laying around that I wanted to spend so I bought the Logitech G9x Logitech mice have not failed me to this date. EDIT: I use the mini op on my laptop now that runs a Minecraft server, and takes a beating from me coding on it (I know the mouse doesn't take as much of a hit as the keyboard, but it's still taking a beating after about 7 years and never has given me a single issue, I love that mouse). EDIT2: Also someone asked why this mouse was so great. Well basically, I just realized that a lot of Korean pros use this mouse (from reading this thread actually and doing a little bit of research on it) and I used to play all sorts of video games, Diablo, Starcraft, I played tf2 on it for about 2 and a half years. Just about every other Valve and Blizzard game and in game, out of game, wherever, I have never once had a single problem with this mouse, in seven years. That is why it's so great. I guess a lot of progamers just realized that too and started using it. Good to know. ![]()

But after awhile I get used to it. With 800dpi it's adequate for my 1440x900 monitor. If I'm getting higher resolutions monitor I would invest some more $ into a mouse. I was thinking to get MX518, the price is within my range, however since I get used to wireless mouse for quite some time, having a wired one is really drive me nuts for some reasons ^^ Razer product is looking great, and I'm really interested to get one, perhaps for my next one.

My first one was the MX500, which was legendary good. It was in use for about 9 years, until the left button started to miss like every 20th click. Tell me what mouse you use I have experience with many mice ranging from Razers to Logitechs and just now I am favoring steelseries mice. Now my hand rests in a palm grip but when playing Stacraft 2 my palm comes off the mouse into a claw/fingertip grip as you mentioned. Since I started using it I have been extremly satisfied with the mouse, it makes my deathadder generations 1 & 2 look cheap and fisherprice like in comparison. It does not feel cheap, the death adder around the thumb buttons has a cheap glossy plastic that is obviously done for visual appeal the xai isn't given any radical LEDs or shiny plastics. The only thing the deathadder had that I enjoyed is the feel of the scroll wheel but for Starcraft 2 the ammount of scroll wheel scrolling that is done is minimal. At the same time the scrollwheel steelseries makes is quite excellent its just not as big, which may be better once you get used to it. I like the Ikari because its made just for right hand users, xai is amidexterous which I am not a huge fan of because unless I plan on getting my right hand chopped off it is sort of meaningless. I love the shit out of it however. Another thing I noticed about the xai is that my hand doesn't heat up using it for a long time, or rather it doesn't sweat. The mouse doesn't have tons of lights in it and the screen on the bottom it does have you can turn off or disable the brightness. Razer mice make my hands sweat even when the lights are turned off. Give me more details and I can probably help you out.

Basically: 1) DPI, the higher DPI, the more precise it can be in it's actions. 2) Weight. Many mice got a cartridge allowing you to adjust the weight, giving you more control. 3) Palm Position. It needs to fit nicely in your hand, and not have your fingers drag along the mouse pad, or give you a hard time clicking buttons.

I for one like to drag my thumb and pinky on the pad, gives me more precision in FPS. I know a lot of people prefer the extra stability as well. I'm using a death adder btw, or my Logitech g9.

1) DPI, the higher DPI, the more precise it can be in it's actions. That's not exactly how it works. DPI - CPI more correctly - is just how many times the sensor reports movement per inch, effectively just the sensitivity of the sensor. In most games a certain amount is necessary to avoid pixel skipping - e.g. in CS you don't want to turn you mouse sensitivity above ~5 in game, I think, so you need a mouse with high enough CPI that you can reach your desired sensitivity without going above 5. The number is not that high, in most games it might be around 400-500, certainly not close to the 5000 CPI advertised on some mice. Starcraft is a little bit different, as it doesn't have a sensitivity control of its own, it just adjusts your windows sensitivity. To avoid pixel skipping, all sensitivity adjustments must be made by adjusting the CPI of the mouse with the in-game sensitivity left at 51%-54%. In this case it is quite useful to have a mouse with a wide range of CPI settings so that you can finely adjust your sensitivity without running into pixel skipping.

Bought a MX518, right mouse button broke after half a year, lost the stuff necessary for warranty, so, duh. Opened it up to see if I can maybe fix it, noticed it looks nearly identical to MX500 inside. I kept my MX500 since only the cable was broken, so I tried to exchance the circuit boards with the mousebutton triggers, and oh wonder, it actually worked. And still does, since 5 years. Just love that shape.

I wish they made one with higher DPI like xai so I use xai. Are you satisfied with XAI? I have a claw/fingertip grip and not very big hands...Would you recommend it? Thanks for the description Carefoot ![]() The thing is, I've been using Logitech G1, and then G3 for 3 years, now I've got the G500(which is a great mouse don't get me wrong) but it's to bulky for my grip, can't seem to adjust to it...So I was wondering if the SSXai would be the way to go since my hand also raises from the mouse and I have a claw/fingertip grip. I compared the measurements of G3 and Xai and they're not very different, but until I hold one I can't really tell...

![]() Was using an MX518 'till the middle mouse button broke, same thing happened with the g7 before it... Guess it's just the platform. Took it because it was pretty much the best on the ESReality chart and I had to replace my mx - I use that button a LOT in blender. It's a bit smaller/heavier than the MX/G7 - the weight was a major bugger at fist but after a few weeks you get used to it (warsow rulez). Otherwise.... 1000hz polling, responsive keys (easy to press, not too easy), insane perfect control speed, no prediction firmware, runs w/o drivers flawlessly... Can't really imagine anything more that I'd need for gaming ![]()

Took me a while to get used to the sensitivity and the larger size, but I'm finally getting used to the speed at which the mouse operates. Had to boot into Windows to update the firmware, but now all is well on the Mac side. Drivers work awesome, the mouse is extremely smooth with the Steelseries QCK pad. Showing off the lights when I feel like it adds a nice touch. Overall, very awesome mouse and satisfied with my purchases.

Not to say that they're necessarily poor quality, but their prices are inflated far more than other brands (MS, Logitech, whoever).

![]() Recently, however, the left mouse button partially broke because a speaker fell on the mouse and so I started looking for an alternative. I was also beginning to miss the side buttons for the thumb for other games besides SC and for some programs. Finding a new mouse was much harder than I thought. I was so used to the Salmosa that I totally forgot how huge and clumsy my previous mouse (MX510) and most other mice felt. I compared reviews of pretty much all current gaming mice and tried most of them at a local retailer. Most Logitech mice are too large and too heavy (MX518, G500), forcing a certain position upon the hand instead of being easily controllable. Alone the G9x was interesting, but the thumb buttons' position and the high price are large cons. From the other Razer mice, the Abyssus and the Imperator seemed good. Abyssus is very similar to the Salmosa, the Imperator has a very low weigth as well despite all it's functions. All other Razer mice were either too heavy (Orochi, Deathadder) or too expensive (Mamba). The Imperator isn't cheap either, though. Roccat has some decent mice. The Kone, though, is similar in size and weigth to Logitech mice and was a no go. The Pyra (corded) is pretty cool, but I'm not sure if I could get used to such a small mouse and I don't want to spend 40€ finding out. The Roccat Kova seemed best both in size, weigth and features, but sadly I couldn't try one at my retailer and it's getting pretty bad reviews regarding technical issues. The Salmosa is out of stock almost everywhere and not commonly known. I happened to find a vendor on Amazon that sold brand new mice with slightly damaged packaging for 20€, compared to the 30-35€ I'd have paid for the Abyssus - The general feel of the mouse. I tried the Abyssus and while it's lightweigth and sleek just as the Salmosa, it has a more "rounded" shape compared to the "flat" shape of the Salmosa. - The Abyssus' mouse buttons are curved at the sides, partially keeping the fingers in a certain position, while the Salmosa only has a slight dent in front for the fingertips, thus providing complete freedom as to the position of the fingers But those are all just details. I had the Abyssus in my hand at the retailer's and was like "Size and weigth are perfect, but the feel isn't as good as with the Salmosa" and that was it ![]()

But that brings me to the question, I love the feel of this mouse (small overall but not flat and has rubber grip on the sides) But being that I bought it only as a portable mouse to go with my laptop I am looking to get a nice corded gaming mouse now, suggestion for anything approximately this size and shape? I am thinking the Kinzu will do nice. Also anyone know where I can get a Filco keyboard? Or would it be more worth it to get the Steelseries 6Gv2?

Razer Salmosa. Solid, ligthweigth, high precision. I praised it a lot in my post a little bit above yours as it's the best mouse I've ever used. I even got a second Salmosa to replace my first, which I managed to damage. It's been discontinued by Razer (dunno why), but it's available for ~20€ on Amazon and Ebay. On the german Amazon site you'll only find them from a shop that sells "B" products, i.e. with slight flaws or damaged packaging. However, I've bought both of my mice from there and both were brand new with zero use, and only the package was slightly damaged (but who cares about the box). Alternatively, you can get it imported from Asia for ~20€ including shipping, but shipping will take a while due to customs issues. But the wait is worth it.

Then I visited the office of another friend the other day, and by chance noticed the mouse he's using for office purposes. Looked pretty bulky. Wide. Might be perfect for my hand. I asked him if I could borrow it to test it with SC2, he just smiled, got up from his PC and said: "Go right ahead, it's installed on this machine." 30 minutes and two won ladder games later, I went directly to amazon and ordered my new mouse, which was dirt cheap (around € 9,99), to be honest. ![]() Comfortable, the side buttons aren't obtrusive, and it definitely works well overall. It's only 400 DPI but from what I've gathered that really doesn't matter as I can just turn the SC2 sens up? Uh, I think I still don't quite get what DPI does or doesn't do. As I have to keep Windows at 6/11 sensitivity it is a bit slow when browsing but I'm used to it, and I haven't noticed any lack of precision while gaming. Though one problem is that the side buttons feel really cheap, I saw some fix for it but I'd rather not attempt anything that's well over my head in case I somehow kill the mouse.

Also the DPI buttons on it are amazing also, they get used a few times a day switching from different games or computers. The thumb buttons are also really good, never do they accidentally get clicked and never is it hard to click them; Dont like the look of the newer Sidewinder thumb buttons. The customizable weight is damn awsome for me too, seems im one of the few who like a heavy mouse? Added 30g(the most i could) of weight to it... Cant stand a light mouse! Software couldve been a little better though, wouldve liked more options for DPI settings. Sidewinder is win for me though, dont think ill buy a new mouse at all until this one breaks in probably like 10 or 15 years. . Ive never even considered lifting my mouse up while using it, why the hell would you need to do that? ^Serious Q / Interested.

How's the quality of the mouse, the surfaces, and how reliable are the buttons (rattling etc.)? It really feels much better than the 9,71 € I paid for it (amazon.de), AND in comparison to the razer mice for 30+ euros, it seems ridiculous how much they charge for a two button+clickwheel-mouse. looks great, the sides are rubbery with some profile for a sure grip, and they don't feel cheap either, control is goddamn precise, scroll wheel is rolling lightly but stopping right when you want it, no rolling back one step when you finish halfway between two lines, as there is no "halfway in between". my micro got better just by using this mouse (but i had some issues with my older one, read my post a few pages ago). and: no rattling. nowhere. even when you shake that thing like in some sean paul dancehall track. in short, i am amazed of how much quality and precision you get for so little money. think if i had spent 70 euros on some high tech thing with exchangeable weights and 42 side buttons...i'd rather save some money and still improve my rather mediocre gold level gaming.

Also the kinzu feels nice with claw grip, the 3.0 did not, at least for me it didn't. Something that was new to me when I picked the kinzu up was that it is designed for both left and right handed, which I feel is more relaxing for your hand instead of using a mouse for right handed people. But as you can see on the picture, my thumb is almost the same size as the mouse, so if you're having big hands and play palm I don't think you will like this mouse because the mouse will disappear in your hand, lol. ![]()

So, I went ahead and bought an Abyssus today (Planned for a Salmosa but heard it had the auto-correction issue and I couldn't find it in stock anyways). Planning to sell off my DA at a minor loss because it is only 2 months old anyways. Coming to the Abyssus, if you at all Fingertip your mouse because you have small hands like me, I can say that the Abyssus is like sex on my fingertips. It is definitely the best mouse I've owned so far from a usage point of view (I've owned the MX18, DA and Abyssus and all are great BTW). I can practically move it with a flick of the wrist and it doesn't hurt my arms too much. Added to that it is very light and compact which makes it perfect for me. You can clearly see why the pros prefer smaller mice like the Salmosa and the Logitech Mini when you play around with one of those. It gives you a great amount of control which is difficult to get with the larger mice. Also, people say it has issues on cloth pads but I am using it with a Razer Goliathus Speed edition (which is very smooth unlike the control edition) and have had zero issues so far. Although I have to say that the pad is also very new which could be the reason why. So, all in all, I am very delighted with the purchase so far and if any of you have small hands, then the Abyssus is definitely one of the options that should be on your list. It has the great Razer build that we know, it does 3500 DPI, does not require extra drivers and is pretty cheap to boot.

Question/Tip for other naos users: I noticed the naos software is hooked up to windows mouse settings, but it only goes from 1-10 as opposed to windows 1-11. Easiest way to get 1:1 pixel setting is to fix your mouse settings in naos software, save it, close the program, then go into windows mouse settings and put it at the 6th notch. When you open the naos software you can see windows has changed the sensitivity to just over 5, which is equivalent to 6/11 and 1:1 pixel ratio. Currently i use these settings Pointer precision (windows): off Sensitivity (windows): 6/11 Ingame Sensitivity (SC2): 51% (since it works at increments of 5, 51-54% is 1:1) Reduce mouse lag (SC2): SC2 reads raw mouse data (skips windows, so my settings there dont matter right?) Naos software: 1600 dpi at 1920x1200, every special features disabled more or less

I know that probably isn't feasible however, and I was just looking for confirmation that the best way to do this would be to pick one and be ready and willing to return it if I don't like the feel of it? I guess I basically answered my own question, so I'll pose a more simple one: have people had bad experiences with either of the G500 or the Death Adder? The best way to do this would be to drop by at a local retailer that has several different mice on display and to hold each one in your hand for some time to see how they feel. Unless you're living somewhere in the rural outback with no retailer for the next few hundred miles, this should be much more practical than ordering mice and returning them when they don't fit. Chances are you'll miss out on some really great mice if you stick too much to a certain model or brand before deciding, since the choice of a mouse is largely a matter of personal taste and few people can really help you with that.

my mouse is an old microsoft wireless mouse with 400 dpi. lol. i understand if i get an mx 518 with 1600 dpi and keep everything else the same i will move the mouse 1/4 as much to get the same cursor movement. that's a crazy increase in sensitivity which i won't be able to get used to. do i put the dpi at 1600 and turn down the sc2 sense really low? will i notice a difference? i never really notice problems currently, but now that ive been reading on it it seems like maybe my mouse is terrible and not precise at all. (i guess i do have some issues with precision on the minimap sometimes). help? btw ~2600 master, so something must be working okay for me.

![]() Seriously, my best friend knew it was my birthday and that I was building a budget PC computer, so he bought me a mouse he felt was great and a great price. He also knew Idra uses it. It seems fine to me, but I read a lot of people saying how horrible it is because of the acceleration built into the mouse. I just simply disable it in the Kinzu menu, as well as delete the registry for mouse acceleration. It seems like everyone who has one, says they are awesome, while everyone who doesn't have them talk about how bad they are because of this supposed acceleration. Could anyone enlighten me about the Kinzu Steelseries, and why it's such a bad mouse? Or, otherwise, why it's so great? i like it so far, really appreciate my friend's present!

Also DPI higher than 3000 makes gaming or working more or less impossible so DPI shouldnt be the factor by which you choose a mouse! I just bought this and have been using it for a few days, so I'll chip in with my comments. Wall of text inc. + Show Spoiler + First off, there aren't three sizes. You could use it without a shell but if you do it's the most unergonomic mouse in history with absolutely terrible side buttons. You are supposed to use the shells, of which there are two : Precision and.. uh, comfort grip. I haven't actually used the bigger shell (the comfort one) but I got the impression that the mouse feels nicer with a palm grip, though it felt like the shell kind of got in the way. The precision grip is.. weird. It is as if it shaped for someone having their hands hovering about 2-3cm above the desk, I tend to rest my hand using the fingertip grip, with the pivot bone Day9 mentioned in his mechanical daily staying on my desk. If I do my pinky sits just a bit too far back, which isn't too comfortable. If i move it forward the back of the mouse hits the palm of my hand and I couldn't play like that for the life of me, though I imagine this is something I'll get used to. It also has a "Dry grip technology" (yeah..) material which keeps sweaty hands from gliding around the mouse. It's a bit like sandpaper that has been used for too long, won't scratch your skin by any means but definitely serves its purpose. It is worth noting that the precision shell doesn't glide at all, I used to tilt my mouse a bit when I lifted it and moved it but that doesn't work at all. Gotten used to it by now however. The two side buttons are nice, harder to press than on a IEM 3.0 but not overly so. They're just above my thumb which is ideal. No complaints there. As for the middle mouse button there are two modes, one of which has harder scrolling with a lot of tactile feedback, apparently it is used for switching weapons in FPS games without scrolling too much. Another small nitpick is that it's easy to press the scroll left or right while in the "gaming mode", as it is quite hard to press down. I do it rarely nwo though, and have only been using the mouse for a few days. Well, it definitely works. A bit harder to scroll than a regular mouse but it's not going to give your hand cramps or anything. It's positioned a bit further to the right of the mouse so it's easy to use whatever finger you have on your right mouse button to scroll, which is a bit meh on normal mouses. The second mode however has a few issues. The point is that it removes all tactile feedback and makes it easy as hell to scroll. And it is, if I spin it fast it'll keep scrolling on its' own, definitely feels nice. BUT if you have that mode enabled the mouse will rattle as it'll be a lot looser than it should be. I just stopped using that mode, but I suppose it's a nitpick. The DPI buttons are placed well, easy to access but near impossible to press on accident, you can have five different DPI settings stored on one profile if you find that necessary. But don't buy the mouse for 5200 DPI, because no one in their right mind would use that, unless you use a 70inch television as your main computer screen. That said you can store three profiles on the mouses memory if you visit LANs and such, you can also have an infinite amount of profiles on your harddrive. As for the software it's not perfect but with a bit of tweaking you can get everything to your liking. I rebind my side buttons to shift and ctrl and I had to make a macro that uses shift and ctrl respectively, kind of figured that would be an option to have as an input already. Oh and you can change the LED lights, I hope the mouse wasn't more expensive because of that :/ Precision wise the mouse is absolutely amazing. I haven't used many gaming mouses outside of the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 but playing on really high sensitivity I definitely notice a difference. I play a 6/11 Windows with 1700 DPI and the mouse definitely feels precise. No problems using it on a Steelseries QCK mousepad either. All in all it is a gaming mouse if there ever was any. I can't imagine using only this mouse at an office for example. If you like resting your hand on your mouse while browsing (palm grip) you have to get used to the feeling of a small shoe in your hand. But if you use a fingertip grip the ergonomics definitely work for gaming. Other than the scroll using the loose mode the mouse feels solid, I doubt the right or left click will break anytime soon, ditto for the side buttons. I like it, but it's not a perfect mouse. A bit more long winded than I was going for but hey, there you have it.

As someone with big hands of the piano finger type (long, thin fingers), I absolutely love the DeathAdder. It's even more comfortable for me than the MX518 (which I still regard as an excellent mouse) and I think some of its features (like the braided cord) make it even more attractive. I'd strongly recommend the DeathAdder to anyone. However, considering it's size, it's best for palm and claw grip players (Razer, interestingly, has it under the "claw" category on their site). Finally, I should note that, if you like the old standby Microsoft Intellimouse, the ergonomics of the DeathAdder are incredibly similar. It's also a nice switch for anyone used to the ergonomics of Logitech mice. (All of these mice tend to be bigger and conform to the entire hand.)

![]() I just got a Logitech M505 recently, and it's pretty awesome. Light, portable, and feels soooo comfortable. I haven't tried gaming with it yet (I'll be doing that tomorrow), but the clicking and accuracy is pretty good for non-gaming use. My only gripe is that the Office Max I went to didn't have the silver colored mouse, which would have matched my laptop perfectly, but black is a nice generic color. Oh, and Logitech Unifying Receiver. Sweet. It was $30, which is more than I wanted to spend on a mouse, but I'm actually loving the choice (considering it was a gift from my dad). Wireless doesn't bug me at all (I'm actually more used to them).

However the extra grips and the weights are just gimmicks, the mouse is great with no weights and the regular grip it comes with standard. The max DPI is overkill but a lot of higher end mouses in the same price range are are also because of the DPI marketing crap, custom lights like most other mice in its price range. It has two side buttons but i really never use anything like that for RTS.

Maybe this picture is of help. Compared to the Kinzu, the Zowie EC2 is significantly larger and heavier, but it does have the better sensor and mousefeets.

Logitech MX518: by far, the reviews are the best and ppl say it's amazingly durable (also, it's an old model), which is something incredible for the price (maybe it's because it's not a new model) Logitech g9x: there are a lot of ppl arround saying the mouse is great and the grips are excelent, I even heard some coments about this being the favorite of some progamers Cyborg r.a.t. 7: words can't describe how cool this thing looks and ppl say it's amazingly confortable, however, I'm concerned about the durability and I've heard there are some complains about the Philips Twin Doppler laser sensor (http://cyborggaming.com/prod/rat7.htm) Any advice is welcome

While the DeathAdder is an amazing mouse (I use one myself), it's not suitable for those with fingertip grip and/or smaller hands. The Abyssus, and even better the Salmosa, would be better choices for someone who doesn't have very big hands. And QFT on the Logitech Mini Optical, I loved that mouse. Wish they'd come up with an updated version of it with higher DPI. I'd be all over that. In the end, I saw a video review of the DA with some dude who seemed to have my same complexion... after that, I took a moment and tought about what I saw... at work, I use a rather big mouse (the one that came with the computer), however, what botters me about it is that my whole hand doesn't fit over the mouse, (I drag my pinky over the desk all the time while I rest my hand over the mouse)... in the review, that dude demosntrated that you can actually rest your whole hand (even the pinky) over the DA; and I tought "maybe that'll be confortable"... Anyway, I'm not a progamer or anything close... I'm just a casual player who is tired of shaky pointers an slow (low dpi) mouses... As a side note... speaking about new mice made me remember the time I switched from my old ball mouse to an optical... I was so used to the z-axis problem and the unaccuaracy that the new precission of my first optical was too much to handle... that sotry sounds rather silly now.

http://www.aceofsweden.com/ace/mouse/laser/edge3200.html Edge3200 from Ace of Sweden Loved the feeling. Small hands , issue with side button so i changed it. Go for the +1 upgrades got the http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169418900/categoryId.35208800 Razer Naga. Really good and was pretty much exited about the side buttons. I really tried hard to use them. Worked exellent for the minor stuff. Probes, buildings etc In battle was not able to control spels, blink, etc At the end it was the side buttons that gave it away. I was notgood/fast enough to be able to handle them So now, just today i got this new mouse http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.171793100/categoryId.35208800 The Razer Imperator

When you take into account the natural arch of the DeathAdder and my tendency to claw the mouse, it's a perfect fit for me. The high arch of the mouse may put some people off though. I had to get used to it at the start, but quickly adjusted as it did help make my claw grip a lot more comfortable once I got used to it. Hope this helps!

Razer Deathadder 3G on other. I definitely prefer the Abyssus over the Deathadder for SC2. I just found the Deathadder to be a bit sluggish in comparison because its bulkier/heavier. Also, I love that with the Abyssus I don't need to install any drivers and can just set my dpi and polling rate on the mouse back and then just set my speed to 50%. The one major downside for me is that the Abyssus (and Deathadder for that matter) both have a glossy finish on the side, which accumulates residue and needs to be wiped regularly.

It took me forever to get used to the glossy siding with my Abyssus. I've had a wireless Logitech mouse, and it was pretty regular, horrible sensor though, always bugged out when i wanted to move fast on my low sens shooters. I love my keyboard and mouse with a burning passion, so I always clean it thoroughly almost everyday, and if i'm eating, I put a tissue over my mouse so I don't get anything on it. Already messed up my keyboard though, spilled some coffee on it, but i cleaned that fucker as thorough as i could, and it's spotless.

Ladies and GentIemen, I present: The Cherry Gentix. ![]() I'd like to quote this since I bought this mouse for my laptop at work and I'm loving it. It's running at "just" 1000 DPI, but that can be adjusted after all. What really makes this mouse special is the design. The picture displayed doesn't do justice to it's looks; it's simply sleak and sexy. One of the best looking mice I've ever had. And, as mentioned in the quote, it's dirt cheap. I could imagine it working well with SC2 as well since it's easily palm and/or finger/claw-grippable (is that even a word?). Weight is a little higher than that of my Salmosa at home, but then again the Salmosa is one of the lightest mice around.

Was interesting how one guy used it without the grips on. I tried it and kind of liked it. Comparing it to small mice like Steelseries Kinzu and Razer Salmose I actually preferred the "hacked" g9x ^^ Won't be using it though as mice that small hurts my hands but to anyone liking small mice - try it out ![]() EDIT: Oh god, I just LOVE how the mouse feels without any of the grips on. It's like the high-DPI version of Logitech Optical Mini. you need really small hands to use it without the grip i'm 6'1" anything but the widegrip on the G9x is unacceptable!

How's the tracking on that thing? I'm not worried about DPI, but I am worried about skipping/odd behaviour at high movement speeds, or negative/positive acceleration. I play Quake 3CPM as well, so any mouse that I use must be able to at least match my Deathadder in that regard.

+ Show Spoiler + ![]() However im currently waiting to buy one of these. The Cyborg Rat.7 + Show Spoiler + ![]() It is expensive but its fully adjustable in almost every aspect and has weights in it which you can swap around. 5200DPI with the choice between 4 different settings which i think are 1600, 3400, 4800 and 5200.

I didn't really want to advertise the mouse as a high tech gaming product, you seem to have gotten the wrong impression there. I just liked the design and remembered having seen it in this mouse thread before; that the person I quoted actively uses it for SC2 is an added bonus. You might want to PM him if you're interested in technical details / feedback, as I'll only be using the mouse for work and won't monitor pixel skipping or anything of the likes. Pretty solid performance so far when browsing or working through documents, but that's about all I can say .).

![]() I own/owned huge number of mouses and i could say that is my fetish ^^ (from some really old mouses i don't even know their names to mx500, mx518, g500, g1, g3, g9, copperhead, deathadder, lachesis, some wireless shit, magic mouse, mighty mouse) ATM there is 1 that suits my grip perfectly and its abyssus. It has no annoying thumb buttons that i never use, same optical sensor as DA and its low weight feels amazing for RTS, together with low-profile shape that really feels comfortable for my hand. However, There are few cons I would love to get better; shiny lower part of mouse that gets dirty easily which you have to clean pretty often cause you can feel dirt on it when holding mouse. also tracking on some surfaces that are not designed for mouse (like desk, blankets etc...) but with mousepads it tracks perfectly (tested on goliathus speed/control, qck+, func, icemat and some cheap pads). Abyssus minimalistic design stand out over any other mouse for me

MIcrosoft is the best mouse, very sturdy and with a really nice definition, if u are in windows XP u can overclock the sample rate, otherwise its still great. Why acceleration? play in a bigger surface, that gives u more pressition

I switched from the DA to the Rat.7 and i prefer the rat so much more. I have it set up so it fits my hand perfectly and the clicks are a lot more tactile, so my micro has improved greatly. Thanks to everyone who posted opinions, leading me to buy this great mouse.

I've been looking at a lot of mice, and it seems that the steelseries ikari or one of their other high-end laser engine mice would suite my needs well, anyone have any feedback? I presume you've tried it without any grip? It's incredibly light that way, and works well if you're a fingertip gripper.

Edit: I don't really feel comfortable using this mouse. Lol it is strucuted weird than deathadder or mx518 I own. Deathadder feels exactly right for me. I might return this mouse and order a Logitech g1. Anyone used deathadder and used g1 that can tell me how they feel different?

I put all the weights on cause I'm used to a heavy mouse, so it doesn't really bother me...idk. So far the mouse feels really good, I like the tactile feel of the mouse buttons, the movement is very responsive (turned off acceleration in the menus) and I really like it so far. edit- with continued use, I've notice that I don't exactly like the scroll wheel click- it requires a bit too much force for my tastes. It's not that I don't like a clicky/firm scroll wheel, it's that the G9x seems to take it too far, so that I can't click it as fast or as easily as I want to sometimes. Might be something that I just have to get used to.

Otherwise I like it alot. You can change the speed and whatnot in three different modes, all of which have come in handy at different points. Probably gonna buy a nice mouse from razer or so next time I need one, just because the name 'razer' sounds pretty awesome. That's generally how I pick up new hardware by the way.
