Just upgraded to windows 10 about two weeks ago because I couldn't keep using Windows 7 and I must say that it felt just a bit bothersome getting used to the new changes. But I must say my windows 7 reformat took place about a year ago and I had no problems under windows 7. Upgraded to windows 10 and for the past two days I have had this issue while streaming:

I have no clue what is causing this issue what so ever. It becomes most apparent when playing CS:GO or Overwatch while streaming with xSplit. I also have an I7 4790k. Whenever I'm at the main menu for overwatch I don't have any issues, but when I start playing the game from the select hero screen, I start to have issues.

At any rate I find this issue quite frustrating and it makes my gaming experience / streaming experience completely impossible. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Update: I just shut off my stream and exited the game I was playing and the amount of RAM available to use gradually began to dissipate as well. This screenshot is one that I took just minutes after shutting off my stream.

If I remember correctly when you switch over to windows 10 it has some services automatically running that you need to go manually turn off. I am running on 2.6 gb right now with windows 10. Unfortunately I forget what services they are but maybe google how to tweak windows 10 performance in the mean time until some one smart answers

looks like some memory leak. Check resource monitor (or w/e the equivalent is in win 10) to see which program is using that memory.

I see a huge problem here...it looks like you may have a virus called Windows 10. All jokes aside, nothing in my experience would have a program using anywhere near that amount of memory. As EmKey mentioned, go to the windows task manager to the processes tab where it actually divies the RAM usage per program and see whats using it. Then follow the process tree. This is pretty dang suspicious imho.

Edit: As a side note, what type of GPU do you have?

GTX 770.

Restarting my PC fixed the problem. But it is worth noting that going to tab you guys mentioned showed nothing that indicates something was using literally gigabytes of RAM.

Virus infections can cause things like that to happen.

Either that or Microsoft was just siphoning all your data and storing it on their servers and was using your computer to do masked tasks.

ok well that wouldn't take that much ram and they're likely not using your computer to run tasks but they are storing every keystroke you make on their servers, even if you edit all the privacy settings in the os. Yay for built in keyloggers!

You can turn off the key logger in the privacy settings, though you need to disable Cortana too.

There are some other data collections that take place that you cannot turn off in the settings. Someone ran a study where they turned off every setting so that 'nothing was being collected.' Yet it still pinged something crazy like 150 different microsoft ips.

had the same problem and this is what i did, and what was eating all the ram for me

Open up the Xbox App
Click on the gear
Click on Game DVR
Make sure record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR is switched OFF
