look for something with i5, 8gb ram, and intel 4000 gpu and you'll be set

None are particularly good for gaming. If you want to play SC2 on a budget machine, don't get a laptop.
The Asus X55 is useless for you, its C-60 CPU is very weak and not suited for anything above casual stuff like browsing, text editing, etc... (and running my NAS/server ). The Asus with the A8 and the HP with the i3 CPU are both okayish. The i3 is the superior CPU, but the integrated GPU of the A8 is quite a bit better.

Yes this one Sager NP2240 can support Starcraft 2, processor is good Sager - 3rd Generation Intel® Ivy Bridge Core™ i5-3230M (2.6-3.2GHz, 3MB Intel® Smart Cache, 35W Max TDP) but the graphic card is minimum requirement for Starcarft 2, you will be able to play on low graphic only. On this web site , there is some Game Benchmarks for different game like starcraft 2 : http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Graphics-4000.69168.0.html StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (2013) low: 88.9 95 106.1 110 111 129 178 ~ 117 fps Compare med.: 25 25.1 28 28.2 31 38 40.9 ~ 31 fps Compare high: 14 15 15.4 15.5 19 21 22 ~ 17 fps Compare ultra: 7.6 fps Compare
sager-np2240 can work but I have to suggest you Sager NP4650 because this model have way better graphic card NVIDIA GT 740M and i7 processor. You will be able to play Starcraft 2 on high graphic with this model. http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-740M.89900.0.html StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (2013) low: 216.5 227.4 ~ 222 fps Compare med.: 76.9 86.8 ~ 82 fps Compare high: 41.2 51.9 ~ 47 fps Compare ultra: 15.2 19 ~ 17 fps Compare This model NP4650 starting price is 909$ but its way better than np2240 but it depend of your budget. You will probably need to add operating system +95$ and maybe ssd +85$ + tax + shipping. For hard drive I suggest you SSD 120GB Crucial M5 Series Solid State Drive [SSD2 Serial-ATA III] (SKU - S5R061) ( + 85 ) it make big difference .

You gotta be careful with benchmarks too because there's such a wide variety of ways to benchmark sc2. If they have 200fps they're probably staring at a mineral line with 12 supply on the map. If the GPU can keep 90fps on whatever resolution doing that though, you're probably cpu limited where it matters

If you can find a cheap Y500 Ideapad its probably a better deal, since the 4700 Haswell is not a significant boost from a 3630 Ivy. So if your budget is around 900$ the Clevo or Ideapad is what you're looking for if you desire to run SC2 decently. Don't bother with the NP2240 Clevo if you want more consistent game performance.

Any other suggestions on laptops that would be good for me? I'm looking for direct links and exact models. I can probably do $800-$1000

Make sure not to skimp on the CPU, that's what typically bottlenecks SC2.
