안녕하세요, been awhile since I posted but this is driving me insane! I am trying to change my ID on the korean server to korean characters but it will not allow me to type more than one character ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I have the language settings all in korean, on the korean server, and have the korean keyboard installed on my computer and still I have this problem. Any insight as soon as possible would be lovely. 감사합니다!

If you use English does it let you do a full name?

Yes it does and it lets me copy and paste Chinese names in there as well

I would make sure that your korean settings are 100% correct. If you are able to type in korean in a regular chat in the menus then I'm not sure what to say, but if you can't then I would check your language settings. Or you could just do a barcode llllllllllll haha ㅋㅋㅋ

I can type in chat and in chat channels and switch back and forth all the time on both NA and KR ladders so I have no idea......
And frankly I am playing dia's on KR ladder a llllllllllllllll account isn't much use atm

Unless you bought a Korean key when servers were still separate then I don't think can enter Korean name as it still recognises your client as NA in origin. (unconfirmed conjecture on my part)
I know people who got TW key to play on servers they were not able to enter Korean characters for ID so perhaps there is still that?
Otherwise you could try setting your windows system language to Korean as well as sc2 client to Korean

Nope. I don't have Korean key but my KR account name is in Korean char.

Just copy & paste it from outside SC? That's how I inputted my name for my KR acc
and my acc is originally EU

if you cant even copy paste then go log from a friend or give the acc to a friend so he can change cuz probably the computer settings are broke

@fusefuse I already stated it will not let me copy and paste it into the box.

@Meatex I already stated that I have the sc2 client in all korean. I don't think I would need my entire computer system to be in korean for this. What would be the point?

Please read the OP before suggesting what was already tried. Thank you for your help and suggestions though

If you created your username on that account pre-HOTS, then the account will likely be TW bound so it only allows chinese and english names. This happened to my account because I used global play near the end of WoL. On the other hand, every account that I've used global play after HOTS has been korean bound so I can make korean names. If you aren't able to make your name korean, then it is likely that your account is TW and not KR even though it is on the TW/KR server.

Damn.... that sucks and most likely the case since it was a TW account I bought in WoL ;; but how did you make yours Korean bound badcop? Or am I forever TW bound.... :,(

I am using the KR client haha everything is in korean as in the language is and the voices are so I am doing but you mean download the whole game from battle.net as the KR client?

Its a bit dickish to tell me to read the op when you didn't even read my post (not how I said "well as sc2 client to Korean"? guess not)
lastly having played japanese and korean games extensively there are times when system language must match game language for all features to work
And I also said what badcop said regarding TW accounts not accepting Korean names but as you didn't bother to read my post.. ah well

My keyboard is in Korean and I type in Korean completely fine in Starcraft and chat channels both on NA and the KR server as well outside of the game all the time. So at this point, I do not think I can get the Korean ID which sucks but it is what it is unless you have a firm solution I don't know about?

Sorry if it came off as rude. I didn't mean for it too. I did already state it and the read OP was not directed at you, it was directed at those who were stating what I had already tried so they would not suggest it again. Just want this to be a productive topic, not a repetitive one. Plus, I did say thank you for your suggestion. Don't mean any hard feelings mate

It probably has something to do with the language packs. I have the exact same problem as you and I've talked to many NA players on KR server with korean names and they simply just paste the name into the box but they do not have the language packs installed to actually type in korean.

But it will not allow me to copy and paste the Korean into the box. It will let me do it for English and Chinese but when it comes to Korean, it will not allow me.
