One thing I've noticed for a while but not done anything about is for some reason, there seems to be an underlying bass rumble when I stream. It's quite clear, you can hear it from the beginning of http://www.twitch.tv/firebolt145/b/346605520

It's not my mike but just the overall audio, when I play music etc. Any ideas why? I'm currently using the AAC codec with a 128 bitrate.

Can I stream with such low speeds?

Maybe 360 or 480? But unlikely.

I'm having the exact same problem here. I just bought a brand new PC just a couple of months ago. My drivers and directx version seems to be up to date. Kind of giving up on it because of super slow up/down speeds though. Still wouldn't mind figuring out how to make it work though.

sick, that fixed it. Also, much to my surprise, I think I have a working stream now. Looks pretty decent too imo. Anxious to find someone to give me some feedback.

Edit: Got some positive feedback on it so far, but newest problem is that I'm getting some weird audio loops. For example, I tapped on my mic to see if it was on, and the sound of me tapping just kept playing over and over and over.... Not sure how to fix that yet T.T;

Mute sound everywhere for as long as the delay is between you and the stream, and make sure you are not watching the stream with sound enabled on it

Can anyone tell my why my stream quality is poor? I'm trying to stream at 1280x720 but my monitor is 1680x1050 so I only get downscale option 1120x700, is there any workaround for this? PC Specs i5 3570k @ 4.3Ghz GTX 650 8 GB ram [image loading]

Currently using 2000/2000 bit/buffer 10 quality @ 60 fps, downscale is 1120x700 everything else default. Here's a test I did http://www.twitch.tv/zorked/b/347379228

yeah; quality looks pretty dang nice man. way better than the majority of streams.

My best attempt so far: http://www.twitch.tv/laus_deo/b/347390410

1500 max bit rate
1500 buffer
Quality 7
downsize: 1280x720 (my monitor is 1920x1080 if that matters)
30 fps

I've decided that my bit rate and buffer is what causes my video stutter. What is the limiting factor on bit rate/buffer? My i7 3.4ghz processor, or my upload speed?

Also, I can't figure out what affects the clarity/crispness of the picture. Is it resolution? A combination of things?

Or this seems to work: http://www.twitch.tv/laus_deo/b/347392344
1k/1k bit rate/buffer
quality = 5
1920x1080
fps = 20

But again, I'm not sure whats best from a viewer's POV. The whole thing is so confusing to me, and I've been tinkering with it for the last ~4 hours. I feel like that optometrist, "1 or 2, which looks better? Ok, 2 or 3...."

Yea I actually think its just because I'm full screening it so it's stretching to fit my resolution which is why it seemed blurry for me. If it isn't full screened it looks crystal clear though.

I said use Quality 10, and 1000-1200 video bitrate

Im not sure how OBS quality works, but if it is anything like Xsplit's implementation, then you dont want to be using it at all with 1200 kbit video on 1280x720@30fps.

I've decided that my bit rate and buffer is what causes my video stutter. What is the limiting factor on bit rate/buffer? My i7 3.4ghz processor, or my upload speed?

Bitrate is simple, the bitrate you are uploading at. If you have 1600kbit upload, you cant tell OBS to use 1500kbit for video, 128kbit for audio, and then expect to have room left over for bitrate spikes (over what you set), running the game, any other programs, or small drops in connection speed. You are going to get bad latency, ping spikes, and/or a ton of dropped frames in the video if you set it too high. CPU doesnt factor into it.

Clarity/crispness is down to resolution and bitrate. At any resolution using a higher framerate at the same bitrate will make each individual frame look worse than with a lower framerate, because you have less bits per frame

As you can see from your own tests while 1920x1080 looks awful with camera motion or action going on, but it looks better than the 1280x720 at times. I think some people would like 1920x1080 @20fps more than a higher framerate lower resolution or just flat out lower resolution stream, which is why i mentioned it, but you are probably better off going with 960x540@60fps @ veryfast or 1280x720 @30fps @medium encoding preset if you can find that setting. Use Veryfast in general though.

zOOOrK, you might want to just try a stream without downscaling. 1680x1050 is a pretty high resolution but on Veryfast you could probably pull it off @60fps and if not then definately 50 or so.

OC'd 3570k is a beast.
