![]() The port circled in yellow is a single-link DVI port. It doesn't have enough bandwidth for you. The port circled in green is an HDMI port. It doesn't have enough bandwidth for you. The port circled in red is a dual-link DVI port. Presumably this is the one you're using to get your single monitor working. The two ports circled in blue are mini-displayport ports. These ports have enough bandwidth You might also have a full-sized display port connection. Like mini-displayport, a normal display port connection will have enough bandwidth. So you have probably 3 ports capable of running Achevia Shimians on a 7950 (and I'm sure there's at least two on a 6950, for that matter). The problem is now adapters. HDMI to DVI adapters won't work... not enough bandwidth through HDMI in the first place. The tricky part is most displayport/mini-display-port to DVI adapters won't work either. Most of these adapters are only single-link DVI adapters, which don't have enough bandwidth. What you need is an 'active' adapter specifically capable of dual-link DVI. Unfortunately, these are somewhat expensive. After a few searches, if you have a full-sized display port connection available, you can get the 2nd monitor up and running for about $50. Something like this should work: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-BIZLINK-DisplayPort-Adapter-Powered/dp/B003XYBA72/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1347927992&sr=1-1&keywords=dell dual link adapter The mini-displayport to dual-link DVI adapers are more expensive, coming to about $100. Something like this should work if you need to connect o a mini-displayport: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0FU0BA4839 If you were planning on adding a third shimian for eyefinity, you'd need an active displayport adapter anyway to make that work. Unfortunately, I don't know of any cheaper solutions. P.S. Note in the product descriptions of those adapters they specify the ability to run resolutions up to 2560x1600. Cheaper adapters might look like they'll work, but check product descriptions carefully. They probably specify they can only run resolutions up to 1920x1080 or 1920x1200, and will fail at the 2560x1440 of the Achevia Shimians.

FML, for a hundred bucks (more) I could just go buy a GTX670. Thanks for the knowledge!

(Whoops. See below.) You might be able to go with the cheaper $45 adapter if your card came with a mini-DP to full-size DP adapter, by chaining adapters. Though I don't know if there would be problems with that kind of thing. I'm not that knowledgeable. P.S. If you can still return your 7950, you can probably use your old 6950, which likely has both a dual-link DVI & a display port connection. Though of course that also means dropping back down to less graphics oomph.

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-670/specifications This says One Dual Link DVI-I, One Dual Link DVI-D, One HDMI, One DisplayPortStandard Display Connectors. Shouldn't it work?

Can anyone confirm if this is true? I only have 1 DP monitor and I want to use my HDTV as a 3rd monitor to watch streams which uses HDMI. I could never get it to work even after I used an HDMI to DP converter. I heard converters can be the cause of it not working so I'm about to buy a DP cable and actually use it for my DP monitor, while my second monitor uses DVI and my hdtv uses hdmi.

Would I be able to use 3 displays with DVI, HDMI, DP? I couldn't get my current setup to work which was DVI (main monitor), HDMI (second monitor), DP (HDTV with HDMI to DP converter).
