That doesn't answer my question though... does it take less computer power to achieve the same quality when streaming? yes/no? is it only far far far ........ better because its free? Id like some numbers/ images or vods ![]()

I am almost certain it is not more efficient than xsplit. It will either provide more CPU use, or less quality at the same bitrate, unless i am wrong. There could be differences in performance hits for screen capture etc (i dont know, its not an issue for me either way), but in terms of CPU drawn to encode the video, and the video output, the results should be at absolute best, around the same as xsplit, if it was set up to use the same amount of CPU resources

I dont believe that to be possible. Do you know what the program is encoding with? I checked the website but it was not obvious anywhere. Xsplit uses x264 for a reason, i seriously doubt it can be matched with less CPU power in that kind of enviroment

I get different FPS results all the time, I get high FPS at start (~150), while dropping to just 30-40 after 10 minutes. The most annoying part is that my stream crashes all the time and it's annoying as hell. are you updated to the lastest patch? have you tried a fresh ffsplit extract and then update? And if your getting the error "FFmpeg has stopped working" they have a thread on their website about it. After deleting my old ffsplit folder and getting a new one and updating I had no problems with crashing. On June 20 2012 23:52 Cyro wrote: I am almost certain it is not more efficient than xsplit. But the difference in machine use is considerable. My review was on the front page of the website and I mentioned that it had more pixelation @ 1080p on the same preset but used like 40% less CPU, Ive done more testing since then and the pixelation isn't all that bad once i was streaming 4000kbps which was only a 1000kbps bump up, which for my internet is nothing. But for others if they want to sacrifice performance for quality then its obviously better, and another plus is the audio isn't shitty like free xsplit version.

From the audio source I dont see ffsplit audio listed there so I selected stereo mix VIA but audio is very low. Check and make sure the stereo mix audio is not set too low in the Windows sound settings. Little audio speaker right click -> Recording Devices -> Right click on Stereo Mix - Properties -> Levels

Also, whenever i begin streaming, i'm unable to watch myself and keep my dashboard open, it just shows up as black or my default offline screen. Can anyone help me out? And lastly, my stream will often shut down by itself after 1-2 minutes of broadcasting. If anyone could help me out i would be very, very much appreciated. ![]()

Make sure you're up to date on all those and then post your VHScrCap (if applicable) and FFSplit settings.
