I click yes but gives me the same message. You actually don't need the filter(i don't think). Just make sure you have a screen capture program installed like vhscrcap or dxtory or the other screencapture program

This is true. However, if you want to use the filter, open the FFSplit folder and run the RegisterFilter.bat as an administrator.

There could be differences in performance hits for screen capture etc (i dont know, its not an issue for me either way), but in terms of CPU drawn to encode the video, and the video output, the results should be at absolute best, around the same as xsplit, if it was set up to use the same amount of CPU resources In my experiences its better in every single way.. except the odd features xsplit offers like overlays and stuff like that. Xsplit uses x264 for a reason, i seriously doubt it can be matched with less CPU power in that kind of enviroment FFSplit uses x264 as well. Sorry, that was not my intention. I am fine with xsplit though, more features, and i am able to stream @1280x720 at 60fps and about 250fps ingame for sc2 earlygame (dropping over time, but that will happen regardless of setup) on a system that is now pretty mediocre. I think there should be much more distinction between performance hit from screen capturing, etc, and actual CPU use for encoding, everybody seems to get them mixed up and x264 is incredibly CPU light

yea xsplit is by far the better program if yo are willing to pay for it. i can barely aford to feed my family and make my bills at the moment though so paying for xsplit is out of the question. this is more of a free alternative to xsplit for people that miss good audio and/or have weaker systems. I can run this on my current build (1045t stock) with no problem. I can run xsplit as well but the audio quality is a lot weaker.

FFSplit 0.3.5 now natively supports stereo mix and microphone together.

Is it possible to make this work with Dxtory somehow for a better fps?
|
You can use Dxtory as a Video source.
|
It won't let me install the filter.

I would just like to add that to get Dxtory working with FFsplit, you need to make sure that the framerate you set in FFsplit must be the same frame as Dxtory. That's the only issue with Dxtory that I know of.

Also, try posting on the forums or IRC if you're having technical issues. It's easier for me help you from there.

Aye, I've found it better to extract a fresh copy of 0.3.2 to update whenever a new version is released.

When I open FFSplit It says that in cant find java.log. in the FFsplit folder, and when I continue I can't find a video or a audeo source. I have everyting installed but when I try to install VC++ Runtime it says that there is a later edition already installed, I also did try to install the 64 bit one, (I run 64 windows)

Does anyone know who actually made FFsplit? I'd like to contact them ^^

run the updater as administrator
