That doesn't answer my question though... does it take less computer power to achieve the same quality when streaming? yes/no? is it only far far far ........ better because its free?

Id like some numbers/ images or vods

Yes, it's far far far better because its free and gives the same, if not better quality, and seems to run better, IN MY EXPERIENCES.

I am almost certain it is not more efficient than xsplit. It will either provide more CPU use, or less quality at the same bitrate, unless i am wrong.

There could be differences in performance hits for screen capture etc (i dont know, its not an issue for me either way), but in terms of CPU drawn to encode the video, and the video output, the results should be at absolute best, around the same as xsplit, if it was set up to use the same amount of CPU resources

In my experiences its better in every single way.. except the odd features xsplit offers like overlays and stuff like that.

I dont believe that to be possible. Do you know what the program is encoding with? I checked the website but it was not obvious anywhere. Xsplit uses x264 for a reason, i seriously doubt it can be matched with less CPU power in that kind of enviroment

FFSplit uses x264 as well.

I am having a problem where my audio is very low. From the audio source I dont see ffsplit audio listed there so I selected stereo mix VIA but audio is very low.

Check and make sure the stereo mix audio is not set too low in the Windows sound settings.

If it also uses x264, how is it magically using less CPU? Why cant you just mess around with presets and command line settings in xsplit to match whatever quality and resource drain it is giving you?

I appriciate the free option but it seems to have a lot of issues and lots of people with baseless claims about performance.

Ok. Don't believe us, its really up to you, why don't you actually try it instead of theorycrafting?

You tend to come into most threads in tech support and shit on everything that people say. You should try it out yourself. You may like it.

I have no interest in convincing you, I was just saying it ran off x264.
Might makes right.

Tested FFsplit on Phenom II X6 machine on 720p, 30fps, 1500bitrate, 112kbps audio rate and faster preset.

http://www.twitch.tv/thezwow/b/322213849

Runs smooth . Some SC2 in the end.

Use vhscrcap as camera, and what's the live-lhr-backup in your stream key?

Any twitch RTMP that works with FMLE or XSplit should work with FFSplit. I use the Miami one my self.

edit: And, yeah, VHMulitcam is not what anyone should be using. It's VHScrCap that you're looking for.

As a matter of fact there's no reason to open anything other than the VHScrCap config program.
Might makes right.

Ok well, did using vhscrcap as camera rather than VHmulticam work for you?
edit: ok yeah, aero, are you sure you needed to edit settings in VHMulticam for your setup?

Guys,

Thanks for your help. I found the problem.

For me, I needed to set both VH Multi Cam Studio resolution and FFsplit resolution should be exactly the same. They were different (a known ratio) for me. When I set them to equal I start streaming.

Now an another problem occurs that frequently FFsplit crashes without any notice. I am trying to figure this out.

FFsplit actually crashes or your stream crashes but ffsplit is still on?
