Hey guys was wondering if someone could help me out real quick. I have a GTX760 for my gpu and im looking to get a new monitor today. The two deals I have found but not sure if they are good prices or not are:

1)
http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX2252MH-22-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00EZSUWFG/ref=sr_1_11?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1417199674&sr=1-11

2)

If either of those are good gaming monitors for under 200 usd and think they are compatible with my gtx760 that would be great.

That Viewsonic goes on sale for about $130 pretty often-- if you want that monitor, you'll be able to find a better price. That BenQ is occasionally on sale for $170 so this isn't a particularly good price for it either.

If you want a cheap Hd monitor, the Asus VS239H-P is currently on sale for $140: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236288 with promo code SAVE4FALL23 (ends today so decide quickly).

There's also a $10 MIR but generally people don't use those.

Not sure if it matters but i meant the 24inch for the first one. Is that a good price for the 24 inch viewsonic?

The 24" one often goes for like 10 bucks cheaper also. I recommend the Asus that I linked. It's an IPS display and it's cheap.

I have access to amazon prime so free shipping, this is the same monitor as the newegg one right?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B008DWITHI/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

is at the 139.99 so wouldn't have to worry about doing the 10 dollar rebate on newegg that is initially 149.99.

Using the Promo code on Newegg compared to the Amazon one is the same-- $140. On Newegg if you use the promo code AND the mail in rebate, you can get it for $130, but most people don't bother with the MIR.

Dell has their black friday sale going on. u2414h for 230(218) with employee discount. Have one already and picking up another.

Absolutely beautiful monitor to run multiple of. The thin bezel really is something.

Hi, i need some help. If i get this adapter:

Will i be able to use a 144hz screen and 2 other monitors on my 7950? (baring in mind that the other 2 are using non DP connections)

i just got the monitor and tested it, the monitor works, but it cant be set past 60hz, and AMD catalyst driver is saying it has a maximum refresh rate of 120 hz, can someone help?

i'll leave some more information for people who haven't seen my previous posts

I bought the benq xl2411z (144hz monitor), it has 1 HDMI,1 vga and 1 dvi port. My gpu is the HD radeon 7950, it has 2 mini displayports, a hdmi port and a dvi port.

I have 2 other monitors, 1 is using a dvi to mini displayport passive (i believe) adapter, the other is using a dvi - dvi connection.

The 7950 doesn't allow more than 2 non - displayport connections.

So i bought this adapter assuming that it'd be able to both allow me to have 3 screens, but also allow me to have 144hz.

I've tried disconnecting another monitor, it still doesn't allow 144hz.

You're connecting with dual link DVI? Regular DVI isn't enough, nor is HDMI

It's decent but not particularly priced attractively.

For $10 less you can buy another IPS monitor also from Asus that has a much more stable and adjustable stand, slightly larger size, included USB hub, extra DisplayPort input option, in a better and more expensive product line, that includes speakers (PA238QR for $140, price ends today):

http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&sku=80244&vpn=VG248QE&manufacture=ASUS&promoid=1029

$240 (ends today, so probably in hours)

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B2HH7G0/?tag=pcpapi-20

$251

Also options are IPS or 1440p monitors, but IPS (though there may be some around that lower price range) and 1440p are both usually 60hz

^i paid the equivalent of ~$450usd for one of those, and i would do the same if i lived in the states and had to, damn american prices. The xl2411z is a little better at some things and probably objectively a better monitor, but while it's cheaper in europe now, it's like $40 higher in the US so not worth.

hey thanks for the suggestions, i just have some questions since i don't fully understand how all these specs work. i just wanna make sure this will work based on my needs as well. I'm more of a casual gamer that wants things to look good. i'll play some fps shooter here and there but mostly good singleplayers. Will it be worht spending the extra money for a better monitor such as the one you suggested?

edit: also i should care more about the 144hz rather than the 1440p?

For twitch games, anything competitive that's not turn-based, definitely the refresh rate is more important to the experience for most people.

Mostly single player, slower paced, I'd think twice, especially considering that the 2560x1440 options tend also to be IPS. And also for use outside games, the higher resolution and picture quality are more important for most people unless they're unusually sensitive to mouse and other motion even outside games.

A 970/290 will just be overkill for 1080p60hz unless you want to run graphically demanding games at max settings (take crysis 3 for example, but instead of turning down a few settings for 1.5x fps, running everything max with 4xmfaa) and the options above that are either getting 2.4x higher refresh rate (and getting strobe backlight support, if that interests you) or one of those 1440p IPS monitors (~78% more pixels with a screen that's a lot bigger, 108 pixels per inch instead of 92)

I had to take the 2.4x refresh rate and i kinda regret not doing it years earlier, 60hz for desktop, mouse use and general gaming is just too low for me. It's one of the biggest sources of input delay on a modern system and the difference in smoothness between 60hz and 144hz is as big as between 24hz and 60hz. Some people don't particularly care about those things though, and some can't live without higher resolutions or IPS in the same way

yeah honestly i don't think the refresh rate would bother me too much because i've always played pc games on my laptop with it's integrated graphics card that could barely run anything at even low settings so anything should be a huge upgrade for me but even going and playing on my friends pcs that are much better i can't really tell the difference that well with frame rate wise. also i don't think i want to go bigger than a 23 or 24 inch because it would be much to big for my desk and what i have set up at the moment. so for my usage which would mainly be wanting to run singleplayers on max settings and some shooters here and there are the recommendations you gave worth the extra money? or should i still try and get a better one than what i ordered and try for a 23 inch 120 hz at least?if that's even possible. i didn't seem to find and 23 inch range 1440p monitors

this is the current one i've ordered btw but can always reverse the order

Time to use DSR for a couple of years I guess.

GTX 970 on 1080p60 is kind of ridiculous, yes. But maybe you should try it first. edit: considering it's Asus, I bet you could probably run 75 Hz or so on the monitor with custom timings if you really wanted.

If you're used to a cheap laptop, it's going to blow you away regardless.
