Okay so i have an i7 2600k and this internet : http://www.speedtest.net/result/1553742321.png
Running windows 7 home or w/e

Why does this do this? I have my max bitrate to 2000 and my buffer set to 2500 but i only get 600-800 on xsplit while im live? This causes my lag and I don't know why it's doing this? Help please?

you are gonna be streaming 720p+ which isnt true 1080p for h264 encoding. True 1080 is 3000-5000kbps, It will be crisp but sadly you are a little short of true 1080.

2500kbps will spike to 3k+ in xsplit. Your processor can handle FME which is better and doesn't spike like xsplit. There is some guides you can use, I recommend 2.5 cmd version of FME. Only downsides of FME is you can't use the overlay system for pics etc, etc. There are some programs you can run in tangen with FME that will be able to do some overlay things. Alot of people don't use the overlay system unless they are promoting a team/website/sponser.

If you wan to stream with xsplit and manage to be able to keep it under 2.97mbps your gonna have to set xsplit to like 2.2-2.3kbps It will spike to roughly 2.8-2.9kbps, this is the only downside to xpslit that ive encountered.

Your machine can handle just about anything, except like the person above me said, is that your internet can't handle true 1080p. Your viewer end lag is just that, their end...their internet probably can't handle 1080p streaming.

Set it to 720p and a 2-2.5k bitrate. The problem you'll encounter is that xsplit randomly spikes the bitrate up which will go over your limit. May cause a dropped packet or 2. If any of those are a key frame your video would go out til the next one is sent.

i've seen people who can stream 1080p with no frame drops with worse specs than this guy and 3mb upload. They said that if you set it to 1080p and 2.5k it works well.

They may have it set to 1080p, but if their camera is constantly moving, the bitrate can't keep up and it'll artifact some areas for a few frames while it catches up...leads to a "less than ideal" quality.
For a high quality stream they'd be better off setting to 720. most people won't notice the difference anyway.

i always notice the difference massive difference for me on 1080p oh well, 720p is nice as well. most downloads can run that as well, most downloads cant run 1080p so its a good setting if your not partnered with twitch.tv/ justin.tv.

I wish you good luck ~<3 have fun and have some good games.

Your internet is not powerful enough at all for 1080p, which requires around a 4k bitrate while at the same time you'll need some overhead for actually using internet yourself (for gaming, you'll want at least 500 remaining). Try 720p streaming, which should work perfectly fine, with a 2000 bitrate. Also make sure to use FME 2.5, since it's probably the optimal encoding software for streaming.

On screens with less activity, you'll be using up far less bandwidth (i.e. sending less data) because they're just isn't as much to update. Normally, this is a good thing, but that can also trigger lag if the encoder isn't using enough bandwidth (this is particularly troublesome when switching between scenes with vastly differing activity).

If it's exactly the same while you're playing a match, then your problem would be that XSplit simply isn't working well for you, in which case I would recommend trying out FME 2.5 as your encoder with a separate capture device.

The issue with FME is that you need to pay for VAC to work, and i can't find an alternative. ANd yeah btw xsplit is super choppy for viewers, here is my xsplit settings. http://i.imgur.com/wsMo9.jpg

A quick question, is your 2600k overclocked and is it laggy for you?? And if your using FME why would you need to use VAC? Stereo mix allows you to capture sound your pc inputs/outputs, unless you use a dreadful USB headset....

Uh for your xsplit settings and how you say its laggy for viewers, change the location xsplit sends the data to accordingly, so if your on westcoast set it to westcoast cluster etcetc.
