Hi TL,
I was installing the latest firmware update for my Razer Deathadder 3500 which explicitly states do not unplug the mouse or shut down your computer during update as it can permanently damage the mouse. I was typing something in another window while updating and a window popped up saying windows needed to restart after installing updates right as I hit enter causing my laptop to restart.
Now my mouse isn't responding at all. When I plug it in it says USB device not recognised. The deathadder driver software is not registering it. It's not showing up in device manager under Human Interface Devices or Mice and other pointing devices. There is "Razer Device" in device manager but it's there even when the mouse isn't plugged in - I think that's just windows registering teh installed driver.
I've emailed Razer support and waiting to hear back from them but thought I'd post here and see if anyone could help. Please tell me it's fixable mouse is brand new and my laptop has just been in the shop getting fixed for a month. Was about to get my first SC2 fix in a month but was updating all my drivers and stuff before playing ><
EDIT: In device manager it shows up as "Unknown Device" under USB controllers. When I right click and tell it to update the driver and manually locate the driver on my computer it tells me "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date"
Also, if I try to run the firmware updater now while the mouse is plugged in it says "This firmware update is only for Razer DeathAdder 3500DPI Mice. Please make sure the latest Razer DeathAdder driver is installed before running this firmware update."

Do you have another computer? Redownload the drivers on that computer as well as the newest firmware. Install the drivers. Restart the computer when they tell you which should be right after the drivers are installed. Then flash the firmware and then unplug your mouse and replug back in. This should work properly.
Also, if you don't have another computer, try using a different USB port and also uninstall the razer drivers completely. I believe CCleaner can help with deleting everything. I had this problem happen to my DA 3.5g but one of the microswitches broke inside the mouse and it was outside warranty so I decided against getting it fixed, replaced it with an abyssus.

I tried that on another computer. I installed the driver and restarted and it still wasn't recognising the mouse, so when I then tried to run the firmware updater it didn't work because it's not registering a connected deathadder. Unplugging and replugging after the restart still didn't work - says usb device not recognised.
Also tried your second solution. Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and plugged it into a different usb port. Still not recognising it
Thanks for your help though <3

I think you have a dud. I would return it for a new one or get a refund and try your hand at a different mouse. The DA 3.5G is a good mouse and I would try again with another one.

Are you just plugging it in, or are you holding down left center and right click as you plug it in. To run the firmware on razer mice its gunna be "turned on" with those 3 held down, enters the mouse into a failsafe or something
