Thanks. I managed to install it now, which was a major headache. Apparently specifically my laptop (Asus T100TA) involved a lot of weird problem that were basically unsolvable before finding a guide by someone who already installed linux on specifically that system.

For example, while having a 64bit system, the laptop apparently has a 32bit Bios, which meant that both the 64 bit and the 32 bit distros were not bootable on the system.

I'm looking to buy a monitor that can run above 60 frames. I found this one pretty cheap on amazon and was just wondering if there's anything I need to know about it because I don't recognize the brand (I'm not super into computer stuff). Also is there anything I need to to do to run on higher frame rates or do I just set the games to unlimited frames. thanks.

That looks like it was cheaply built, not just with a cheap price tag. The stand isn't good and i'd check a few reviews at least to see how the overdrive performance is (to avoid excessive blur or artifacts) - that tends to be a notable difference between more premium monitors and the lower end cheap ones. Definitely don't count on the freesync being usefully implemented unless reviews say otherwise. Amazon reviews are not promising for it lol

On the technical side, you just need to set the refresh rate on the desktop or GPU driver and it will run at that refresh rate. Sometimes you also have to set a game to the correct refresh rate if it's using dx9/dx11 exclusive fullscreen mode.

Hi guys. Maybe someone can help me. since i changed my twitch name and it got updated on the tl page the automated settings doesnt work any more. It doesnt set my stream as online and also doesnt set the current game any more wich it did before. Is there a way to fix that?

ctrl+e works, so I'm assuming it's unintentional.

Looking at the event listeners, there's an event listener that listens/catches it:

Not gonna look into what/why it does it since it's obfuscated.

It's a very old hotkey used by the reply window, Ctrl + B, U, I for bold / italic / underline and Ctrl +K to insert a link.

I bought an album from Itunes (well apple music now I guess) but didn't download it on my main pc and just streamed it or whatever. on my laptop i downloaded it. however it has since been removed from the store and I can't access it on my main pc, I also can't redownload it. Does this mean that If I hadn't have downloaded it on my laptop I would have permanently lost access to it? I get itunes not selling it anymore but removing the ability of people to access it who have bought it without a refund seems weird.

do I just not understand how buying music digitally works and is this normal?

Does this mean I need to download everything I buy on itunes in case it gets removed from the store?

on a related note how does steam work regarding games that get unlisted for some reason? can I still download something after it gets unlisted if I've purchased it before it got unlisted?

Yeah once you own it you keep it. There are a bunch of games that are no longer available to be bought. Alan Wake was removed due to media rights expiring (they gave out the game for free for the weeks leading up to that). It was expected to be permanent, though it later got re-added. There have been other games that have done similar things.

In the case of preorders that got pulled (the whole Epic store drama) they refunded the cost.

I am having a problem with my computer. yesterday when I started playing everything was fine. so as I was drinking my beers probably I pressed some combination of keys and there is a circle-crosshair in the middle of my screen everytime I play a game (RTS, FPS etc etc). I was searching the internet if anyone had this problem and I haven't found anything. Then I thought that it could be from the nvidia the overlay and I was changing the settings or resetting them and nothing happened. So because I was on Steam I thought I pressed something there so I went to play some other games and the same problem persisted. I don't know if I can upload any images here.

It might be from keyboard/mouse drivers/software as well - logitech/razer software might be enabling a "FPS game mode" setting?

It was the Alienware sound centre that did that. I didn't expect it at all and I hope I wont get anymore any of these problems. also if someone else has problems with the sound then just exit the Alienware sound centre and it will fix the problem. this happened to me in hearthstone broodware and heroes of the storm.

Where is a reliable place to get drivers? Had to rebuild my computer recently due to a failed drive and the driver CD that came with my motherboard doesn't work anymore. I was able to get most of them from softpedia, but missing a few. Any other reliable sources out there?
