When watching video in firefox, the image sometimes stops, but the sound continues. If this happens, the computer appears to mostly lock up (Sometimes other programs still work, sometimes they work very slowly, sometimes nothing works at all), and the only fix i have found so far is to completely reboot. It happens very irregularly. Sometimes i can watch videos for hours and there is no problem, sometimes it happens after half an hour of videos. It doesn't seem to be based on where the videos are from (the same thing happened with youtube, twitch and the lolesports site). I have googled a lot, and applied all of the commonly recommended fixes. (Enable/disable hardware acceleration, disable playing DRM content). I haven't found anyone who describes the exact same symptoms as i have, though.None of them seem to really influence this behaviour. This happens exclusively when watching videos on the internet, so far no other activity has lead to the same problem. Anyone got an idea what might be causing this, and how to approach it?

hi. Please help! Hotkey for Keyboard Language Question: Here is how you do it as far as I know currently System Settings (home) > Time & Language > Language > Choose an input method to always use as default > input language hotkeys PROBLEM here: I CAN ONLY choose between Left Shift+alt OR ctrl+shift BOTH are inadequate for my Starcraft play (interfering with game play, not directly, but it happens you press them - apparently, both, as I use shift, ctrl and alt alot...) ??? Please help - I know you can set your own hotkeys somewhere, I think I did it in Windows7 that way... however in Windows 10 I can't seem to find it, and only have these two options, however I believe it should be possible, right? It would be awesome if I could simply remap it to the RIGHT ctrl+shift. Putting off, is also not an option to me, as I need to switch to korean or other language sometimes. Thank you. PS: I liked the default setting so far, then I can use "Alt Gr" to switch between hangul and english .

Let's say a smartphone is connected to both the internet and cellular data network (WIFI and 3G/4G/LTE) (1) Would a hacker be able to use the device's connections to covertly infect the smartphone with malware (ex: insert malicious code/files/software/program targeting the phone/texting apps or device information) that reports back SIM card information to the hacker? (2) Then use the information to create a clone of the SIM card that will function/pass/evade the cellular provider's security verification protocols?

I'm still using old Windows XP and wanted to upgrade it to Windows 10 but before I want to know its latest features, benefits, ease of use, speed, networking etc. ![]()

There's a good reason XP is end of life. Get off of XP if you meet minimum requirements for 10.

You're better off just searching for Windows 10 features / functionality. If you're familiar with XP you should be able to identify the differences, but even if you can't you really only need to know what W10 has.

(Virus, you deleting the wrong stuff while somehow bypassing all safeguards,...) Since you seem to get to a point where something tries to launch an OS and fails(and not stop at beep codes or so), most of your hardware is probably okay. Even if the battery were dead, if the ac adapter were providing Power, then I should be able to turn on the laptop right? This leads me to believe either my adapter is dead (no replacement so can’t really check) or the port on my laptop got fucked somehow Any disagreements with this assessment? Not necessarily. My laptop (Asus T100TA) does the same thing when the battery is completely empty. For some reason, it needs to charge for a while before launching. If you let it charge for an hour and nothing happens, you are probably correct in your assessment.

Agree with your assessment - to check you'll either need a different charger/adapter or use multimeter. Or give it to some nearby pc repair shop, they must have the right stuff to check everything and can do it in few minutes.

My pc disconnects from internet randomly 5-12 times per day. I contacted my ISP and they didn't notice anything weird with the connection. Usually I just get randomly dc-ed, but I noticed lately that it always happens like 10 mins into some game. My gf is also having this problem after installing latest windows update (win 10). She connects via wi-fi i'm connected via cable. I installed newest drivers, tried turning off the option to save power on router in device manager, tried factory resetting router, but to no avail. Anyone have any idea?
