Since the refresh processors have no real difference vs non refresh in the standard lineup but have questionable compatibility unless you're using the newer chipsets (i don't think they replaced h81..) then you'd be better off trying to get a 4570 or 4670, which is guaranteed proper support on h81 without worry. | ||

I'd like one that is durable since I like to dance around while listening to music. All of the ones I've bought (all wired) always have some problem and lose the sound on one side after a while. The latest I've tried (and suffered the above problem) is BOSE QC15. | ||

As I said, it never crashes when I'm actually on the computer, only when it's sitting there idle. The only programs running are HexChat for IRC and Skype in the background. Maybe I'll start by closing those when I leave next. Any ideas? Event logger just says "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." | ||

In the meantime, I have not been able to get my onboard GPU to activate. I can get into BIOS (no option for VGA there btw) and select safemode, but then I just get a black screen with a mouse cursor. It's an HP Pavilion. P6210. I decided to shuffle my RAM in and out to see if one of them could be a problem. One got stuck on Loading Windows Files and the second one has sent my computer into chkdsk. Fun times. | ||

Did you get to BIOS using onboard or video card? Was your video card removed when trying to use onboard graphics? When you say you can get into BIOS and select safe mode, I'm assuming you mean two different things here (you can get into BIOS and separately you can get to the prompt to select safe mode for Windows). Was this with the graphics card present or not? Have you tried to boot into safe mode command prompt? | ||

After that, I was able to boot normally but even then my desktop had that super shitty resolution, it was even worse than safe mode. I assumed that there was some sort of basic display that kicked in that wasn't my onboard, because this looked way worse than my onboard ever did. Maybe I'm wrong, though. Later I removed the card completely and could still get into BIOS and had the option to select Safe Mode, etc but it would go to the black screen with the cursor. I'll try to see if I can get into the command prompt: Negatory on the Command Prompt. It goes to Loading Windows Files... Then to a black screen with the mouse. Thanks for your responses! | ||
