If you don't overclock, there are Xeon CPUs for the same socket as i5 and i7. Those Xeon CPUs have the same price as an i5, but have that hyperthreading the i7 has. The Xeons are missing the integrated graphics. The 3570k you are thinking of will beat it handily in any task you look at as you can overclock the 3570k.

Other than that, it's the same, except more expensive. New generation should be available in less than a month. A different design means better performance. It's unknown how much better these will overclock than the current processors (or possibly worse), but overclocking on any of these modern systems is pretty easy—too easy, according to many computer enthusiasts, who would reminisce on years past. edit: as noted above, unless you're using the computer for some other heavy work, you probably want an i5, unless the ~$100 difference in price for pretty much no benefit sounds like no problem to you.

You can actually enable onboard graphics in the BIOS even with a graphics card installed. You will then be able to use both at the same time. Windows will use the hardware where the monitor is plugged in.

edit: Nvm, it was a windows setting. Apparently you have to tell it to search inside documents,

I am looking to be able to play all current games, obviously I don't expect ultra settings on everything, but something, that will be able to handle games for a few more years. Thanks

1. It needs to be a laptop, right? 2. What else would you use it for? 3. Would you be using its screen? Do you have another? 4. Would you be using its keyboard? 5. Are weight, noise, general build quality, etc. any concerns? 6. You're buying online? Or where? In USD, shipped to a US address?

2. Other than gaming, normal use (web-browsing, school work) , nothing like editing or rendering or anything like that. 3. I would be using it's screen 4. I would be using its keyboard 5. Build quality is important, however weight or noise isn't too important. 6. I will be buying online moost likely. I live in the US yes. Ty for the quick reply !

http://www.logicbuy.com/categorydeals/computers/laptops A lot of times you can just look around for coupons or check general sites like Newegg, Amazon, etc. Or manufacturer websites. e.g. Lenovo Y500 at Lenovo site ($850 i7-3630QM, ~GTX 660M rebrand, 1080p screen) It's pretty much impossible to find anything with the next tier of GPUs under $1000 without a great sale. That'd be something higher than GTX 660M (GTX 750M) and HD 7770M (8790M or so). Haswell drops in a few weeks, but new laptops probably won't be cheap. There shouldn't be more than a say ~10-15% (accounting for a small clock speed bump) max difference in most tasks compared to what's currently available. Most games other than SC2 won't really appreciate that difference.
