GA-Z77M-D3H MoBo i5 3570k CPU Ripjaws x series 8GB RAM Antec true power 750w PsU already have an ATI 5550 graphics card. i know the video card isnt the best. my question is, is this a build that would have anything wrong with it? im new to the building scene and would like to know i didnt screw myself lol. | ||

I would recommend a Seasonic M12II 620W because its modular and theres a pretty big discount on it. You could also go with XFX Core Edition PRO550W if your budget is tight. | ||

I'm not sure how to remove tooltips from the taskbar only, but if you're fine with them being gone everywhere, open regedit, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced], select ShowInfoTip, and change the value to a 0 (from a 1). All ATX towers have mounting hole positions for microATX motherboards. There just won't be any motherboard slots corresponding to the bottom three chassis expansion slot covers, since the motherboard does not extend down that far. | ||

Thanks in advance. It's probably windows aero theme trying to generate the preview window. It's not as resource intensive in 7 as it was in Vista, but aero theme still chews up a bunch of memory and CPU usage creating those previews. With a fully 3D application, its probably just chugging along. It's possible to disabled dwm, which is the part of windows aroe theme that generates those preview dealies. But then, it might also just be easier to move the taskbar or hide it all together. | ||

I then tried to run the site thru hidemyass.com and it got it working for a short while but now even that doesnt work. I can't reset my router because i plug my TP-cable directly into the wall.... need help Edit: Problem just went away for no appearant reason. | ||

I plan to upgrade my Desktop for the very first time tomorrow, moving on from 32 bit to 64 bit windows 7 so that I can also finally move on from CS4 etc. I currently have 4 gigs of RAM and am planning to buy another stick tomorrow to install. I am aware installing RAM is fairly simple, however what kinds of steps should I take to purchase the right kind of RAM? In case you couldn't tell I'm a bit nervous about all this... haha just don't want to brick my PC or anything... Is where a certain kind of RAM I should be looking for? How can I check what kind of RAM will work well with my PC? If anyone needs to know more information about my desktop I will be happy to supply you with it. Thanks in advance! Edit: I must admit my fear really originates from my vast arrogance and partial understanding mixed together. Just keep worrying about things like will my power supply be enough and things like that.... *sigh* | ||
