im steaming. every once in a while, in little streaks, my sc2 will crash with a message telling me that my installation is corrupt. it asks if i want to run the repair tool, which i do, but it does nothing.
ive had this problem for several months, but its so inconsistent, i cant narrow it down to a pattern. i would say it happens 5 or 10% of the time i load a ladder game. the match will load, but right before it actually starts it will crash.
i have run the repair tool like 15 times and uninstalled/reinstalled starcraft TWICE, with no help.
i have probably 20-30 losses on my account from this.
i have searched here, on google and on the bnet forums. the most common response i see is just a fresh install, but that obviously isnt the problem,.
please help. thank you.

always consider reinstalling windows. (ofcourse you wait first for other replies. )
a tip: if you want to save files and dont have a second hard drive, then create a new partition and put the files in it, then you can format the partition where windows is on.

Is any other software in your computer crashing fairly often?
Ram problems can cause this

If your SC2 installation was corrupt it'd fail more consistently, for example every time you loaded a particular map. Otherwise it's a corruption-in-memory problem, most likely a RAM or timing fault but possibly a cell fault, CPU fault, motherboard, disk or disk cable fault.
Diagnostics: Get Prime95, run both large and small FFT torture tests. Run memtest86 overnight. Get HDTune, check the data value for UltraDMA CRC error count.
Don't reinstall Windows. That'll just end up corrupted too.

This happens all the time to me. SCII doesn't play well with Win7 x64. Have fun crashing until they fix it, I've submitted countless logs to the bliz forums with no help whatsoever. Same problem.

it was a bad memory stick. running on 6 gigs now instead of 8 and havent had a problem yet. we will see.

Try, right click, run as administrator. That usually works for me on all Blizz's games when they say that they're corrupt.

Maybe it isn't only because of Win7 x64, as I'm using it and never had any issue with SC2 crashing.
I'm not saying it isn't the reason of the problem, I'm just saying maybe there's something more to it than only Win7 x64...

i had the same problem, for me it was faulty ram causing it as well, unfortunately i only have 2 gb left instead of 4 and it makes my PC alot slower T_T

Same problem with Window 7 32 bit. Seems to be hardware problem since I reinstall everything I can. Even just pure window and SC2, it still keep corrupt every other day.
However, the problem happen only just a month ago on 1.1.2 patch

I have the same problem with my EU version, but only that it's never happened before... ever, and today when I tried to start I got this error e_filecorrupt, and I can't get it to start at all. I tried to run the repair, but it just shuts down after telling me which version I have, 1 min after I run it, so thats not much of any help.
Then I tried running my SEA version for SC2, and it runes with no problem. I tried copying the files from the SEA version to the EU that were corrupt, but it just comes up with a new file that's supposed to be corrupt every time.
Any advise on this problem ?
