There's "mouse gesture" addons for the browsers. For back and forward actions, you can do for example hold right-click down and then press left-click, and the reverse hold left-click down and press right-click. Another method to get two new actions is hold right-click and scroll the mouse wheel. There's also painting lines with the right mouse button. A line to the left can be back, line to the right forward.

Not sure if they are being made or not but you're looking in the wrong places to buy them. Newegg used to have them but no longer stock them. Read my post on the previous page to find links.

Hey all
Since this thread seems to be active and related to my question I figured I might as well as post here.

For a few years I've been using this small cloth generic mouse pad so I've decided to upgrade it!
I wasn't sure what to choose so I went with the most popular as well as cheap one which turned out to be SteelSeries Qck When I got the Qck earlier today and started using it I noticed that the surface felt very slippery due to lack of friction compared to my old pad. It was like I was suddenly using acceleration haha

Anyway just curious, is this happening because it hasn't been worn out yet? Or all other mouse pads like this.
I'm using Abyssus btw if that matters :0

The qck is actually far from the slippiest as far as i know. I've heard it was one of the more grippy ones, or at least middle of the line. Good mouse pads don't have a ton of resistance, while using mouse on harsher surfaces can feel very different

Now that you have freedom to move your mouse properly, maybe take the opportunity to lower DPI and gain accuracy from it~

It will get somewhat sticky when it gets dirty from your skin. If you have the thin one, it manages to not die when being washed in the washing machine at the lowest water temperature. The thick one, you should better wash by hand in the sink.

I don't think it will actually ever really wear out as long as it's just the mouse feet touching it and never plastic from the mouse shell scratching it up. It will not feel like new after some time and some washing, but I don't think mine ever got a spot in the middle that felt different than the rest of the surface.

The one I used to use when playing CS 1.6 7 or 8 years ago sure did wear out :D It's entirely grey/white on the most used areas, and I tried washing it to no avail. But 6 good years for a 20 bucks pad is a pretty good deal anyway.

What happened for me is, I have a QCK+ and the surface is still fine but it is not flat any more. I used that mouse pad a lot with a small mouse where the base of my palm and the ring finger, pinky and thumb were resting on the mouse pad while gripping the mouse. The rubber base got out of shape in those areas and mice that have very large mouse feet now get somewhat stuck in those areas of the pad.

Thank you all for the responses
Hopefully this pad will last long or longer than my old one.
I'm getting used to this new speed too

I was looking for a small, claw grip mouse.
Bought a Abyssus(not the 2014 one) and didnt like it all, the buttons are very stiff.

Then I discovered the Logitech G100s and man, this mouse is awesome and affordable.
Its very light and small but its perfect for me.
The software is a little funky but overall, loving this so far.

tl;dr: I want a Logitech Mini Optical replacement.

My LMO is worn out. I want something new that is similar with a better sensor and buttons. I just got a Logitech G100, but it is too big. I feel like I have to claw grip it and it feels weird and slow. I also have a cm spawn and it's way too big on the edges. I feel like I'm palm gripping it. I have small hands, use a fingertip grip with thumb and ring finger, and frequently lift the mouse off the mouse pad. I took the weights out of my LMO to make it lighter.

I've read several comments praising the G100, but I just want something newer and better that feels like the LMO. I would get another LMO, but I'm playing Age of Kings. It doesn't let you change mouse sensitivity, so I have it on 100% in windows and it still isn't sensitive enough. I would like to have it set to 6/11 in windows and then adjust the dpi so the mouse is more accurate and sensitive.

The mico sensor skipping scares me, and I would have to wait longer to get it since no amazon prime shipping.
The abyssus seems to have lots of negative comments on the sensor and durability.

It seems like every mouse has a problem with firmware or the sensor skipping. It can't be that hard to find a newer and better LMO, right?

Roccat sells a tiny mouse called "Pyra" (look at the wired version and ignore the wireless one). It seems to have a different shape than the LMO, but its small size might still make it a good replacement. I don't know how much smaller it really is compared to a G100s, as Google Image Search can't findcomparison pictures. It does not have a lot of fine DPI steps, can only do 400, 800 or 1600. It has one thumb button.

Looking for a new mouse. Having used random two button and a scroll-wheel HP/Microsoft/Dell mice for all my life, I honestly don't even know what I want or what to look for.

Random thoughts:

I use a fingertip grip.
My thinking is that I'd want a slimmer/lighter mouse, but I'm not 100% sure on this.
I'd like to have a few programmble buttons, but don't really need anything excessive.
Don't really play FPS, more stuff like RTS/MOBA/MMO/etc.
Anything below ~$100 is fine.
Instantly adjustable DPI sounds like a nice feature, but I'm not sure if it's something I would really use. I don't think I need any obscenely high DPI mice.

I'm currently looking at something like the SteelSeries Sensei or the Logitech G502s. Any input or advice is appreciated, or just for tips on other mice to look at. Thanks.

I have the G502. If you play for a long time you might get tired from the weight. It's a great mouse, very customizable and easy to get used to with a finger-tip grip.

1. What's your grip style?
fingertip/claw

2. What's your sensitivity?
1200 dpi

3. What's your maximum budget?
100 USD

4. Do you want additional buttons?
no

5. What games do you play?
sc2

6. Do you mind angle snapping?
yes

7. Other relevant information:
I've owned a Razer Abyssus for 3 years now and I can safely say that it sucks. The mouse is very uncomfortable to hold, it makes the area around my backhand hurt because my thumb cannot tuck itself deep enough. This also negatively affects my play by making me play slower.

I want something like this http://i.imgur.com/AxjfxDg.jpg this is probably the most comfortable mouse I have ever used in my entire life, and it's also the mouse that got me to masters before I bought the Abyssus.

Thanks in advance.

I used to have a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0, recently bought a Razer Deathadder 2013 because it was onsale. Synapse completely ruined my mouse settings, I don't know what it did but even when i uninstalled it and plugged my Intellimouse back in it didn't feel the same (i think it had no mouse acceleration and i play with it normal settings). Now I am trying to configure my Deathadder to replicate my Intellimouse but I need help. I have no idea what to put my DPI, Acceleration or Polling rate to. I've been playing around with it and still can't understand it fully. If someone here who knows more could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

feel free to PM me, Thank you in advance for the help.

Polling rate doesn't matter, early 3.0 had 400 dpi and the remake had 450 as far as I know, acceleration should probably be off (even if you used the windows accel before, I guess you should turn out the synapse accel anyway).
If you have the same DPI on the mouse and the same windows settings it should feel the same, I've never used synapse so if it doesn't I don't know how to help you further :<

Polling rate isn't completely irrelevant and you should put it to 1k, acceleration etc should just be off completely.

Your windows mouse sensitivity should be set to the middle bar (6/11) with enhanced pointer precision DISABLED, then you can adjust DPI to adjust sens. That old mouse had ~400-450 i think too, so you can match that, but i have the feeling that you were probably using some form of acceleration or scaling above 1.0x, which you should probably take the time to remove now that you have a new mouse if that's true

What I meant is that it's irrelevant to the sensitivity, isn't it? Even though 1K hz may feel different than the 3.0's 125hz I suppose

Yea it's irrelevant to sensitivity but it's better because 1000hz adds 0.5ms of average latency while 125hz adds 4ms + Show Spoiler +
and 125hz also matches up badly with 60, 120 and 144hz which causes dragging a window or turning around in an FPS game to be less smooth, because the time between update and refresh and also the amount of updates per refresh is variable and causes some motion artifacts. That's mostly a small issue, relevant more for people using CRT's or other solutions for low motion blur (where it stands out 10x harder) but it affects everyone so it's worth a mention~

This is what it looks like, not very practically useful for most people but interesting i think

Ideally we would have selectable polling rates like 600, 1200, 1440, that would fix this synchronization issue, by giving etc 10 polls between every refresh, instead of sometimes 2, sometimes 3 with 60hz screen and 125hz mouse. Until then though, raising polling rate a lot helps to mitigate the issue, because even if the ratio is still off, one poll at 1000hz being missing is much less important than one poll at 125hz missing, which creates a disruption of motion that's even visible to the naked eye with some setups.
