Hmm.... I think I fixed it. Mostly. I noticed the polling rate I can set via the program that came with it had a huge influence (1000Hz = every 3-4 minutes, 125Hz = every couple of hours - both while playing Dota aka lots of clicking) and the amount of clicking seemed to have an influence (Even on 1000Hz it took hours to notice it in DayZ but only minutes in Dota).

I tried uninstalling everything driver related via windows hardware config (I tried it before and didn't change much, but apparently installing both the Avior and Naos software made it a LOT worse) and now it happened like 2-3 times in the last 5 days total.

Any tool recommendations to REALLY make sure any and all drivers are gone to completely take that out of the picture? There might still be something conflict-y around that causes what's remaining. :3

I think there is a specific program for that kind of stuff.. Driver sweeper or something? Not sure, never had to use it :x I hope you fix your problem, it's a pretty odd and frustrating one.. The fact that it's affected by both the number of clicks and the polling rate seems really strange, as I suppose only a very small part of the bandwith is used by clicks as opposed to tracking information... Maybe someone will be able to help you with this information though

Sadly I still couldn't figure out what causes the mouse being dumb but at least I know it's absolutely not the mouse itself. ;;

He said before it happened with his old mouse too, so it's definitely not a faulty mouse.

Yeah I'm aware it's not directly related to the mouse, it just got notably worse from installing the software from both mice.

Do you have a bunch of errors and warnings in the Windows Event Viewer? You could try to research with Google if some of those might be related.

It's also typically possible to hunt down solutions to all errors and fix them so that the Event Viewer looks completely clean. I don't think that will help if it's just random unrelated stuff, but you never know.

oo

I just checked this thing for the first time ever, is it normal to have thousands of entries under "Information" and the category below that (should be something like "successful surveillance" in English)? Got like 60 errors in the last 7 days, I shall grind through them.

On the left pane at the top under "Custom Views" there's one filter already set up by default named "Administrative Events". That will collect all errors and warnings from all sources. You only need that list. You can sort it by date and then see what happened around the time when the mouse had that issue.

the event list has a ton of stuff on every PC, dont worry about that.

They can affect things from tiome to time, which is why you can filter and look around.

Looking to buy a Deathadder, however they don't seem to be stocked in many places apart from the Razer store which is rather pricey (I'm buying from the UK). Has anyone found a Deathadder cheaper than the Razer store? I'd prefer the CLG edition of it which I imagine is rarer but neither seem to be available anywhere.

On that topic, does anyone have any experiences with the newer Deathadders? I've been using a Razer Imperator for the last 2 years which I liked, but the side buttons and scroll click have got really unreliable, I was hoping that the newer 2013 Deathadders have better build quality since the 2012 Imperator only lasted 2 years.

They're still not known for their build quality and the 2013 deathadder is also a downgrade from the 3.5g in several ways:

no onboard memory so you have to run the driver program 24/7 to use anything but default settings - but it also messes with sensor performance in some way

and different sensor is supposedly not as responsive as the one in 3.5g, but it does have some higher performance characteristics that are relevant to some users but not most

Just got my mech keyboard so i might as well get a new mouse for work...Any recommendations?

1. What's your grip style?
Claw

2. What's your sensitivity?
High

3. What's your maximum budget?
~50?

4. Do you want additional buttons?
5-7 would be nice.

5. What games do you play?
Work

6. Do you mind angle snapping?
uhhhh

7. Other relevant information:
A bit of weight would be nice. I have giant hands. I loved my MX518 til it died on me and now it's discontinued Some extra buttons would be nice for work functionality but not necessary.

High

define high just because it's extremely subjective, and which type of games (etc LoL/sc2 is different from an FPS game)

DPI is used to measure sensitivity, assuming you're not using positive/negative acceleration or multiplying cursor speed in windows or a game/program

G400 and G500 are the ''sequels'' of the MX518. I've been using a G400s for a while and it's just great for things overall. It's big, cheap, has a really good sensor and works for every grip (mostly claw/palm though.) The G402 or 502 might also be worth looking into, but they're a bit more expensive.

Well, my sensei just gave out, it was a great mouse. Loved everything about it except those extra buttons on the side.
But I'm really tempted to buy one of those cheap logitech m110 with which I always had a great feeling...

Is there any practical difference (optical 4000 dpi vs lazer 8000 probably wont' really be noticeable) besides the adjustable weight?

It probably will be because all of the high DPI lazer sensors that i know of have major flaws like moving the cursor inconsistent distances for the same hand movement. That's why some of those other sensors are better (and because who cares if you have 4000 or 8000dpi when you're using 750dpi anyway)

Hi. I play starcraft brood war. I have been debating between the corsair m45 or the cm storm spawn from what I've read in this thread. Currently I am using the abyssus for several months. I don't really care for it. The way the mouse feels, I don't feel like I have much control. I have used a death adder in the past and when I was used to it, I think I preferred it better. I have also used a diamond back and a Logitech mx310 in the past. What do you recommend between corsair m45 and cm storm spawn? Any other mouse that you recommend? I think I have sort of a claw grip. It is kind in between. My fingers bend but not too exaggerated. Thoughts? Sorry I don't know much about mice.

The most important thing for "claw" vs fingertip grip is if your palm (especially the back of it) touches the mouse or not. Claw uses that, fingertip does not

this is fingertip grip on xornet (same shell as spawn)
