Edit. Actually I think I am fingertip. My palm slightly hovers over on the back on the mouse but not on top of it. What would you recommend if I didn't like the abyssus

Question since I should get my new computer pretty soon, if you are going to increase your screen resolution, would the same DPI setting on your mouse feel slower on the bigger screen(Will be going from 1080p to 1440p).

I like the spawn/xornet shell for most games, but not really for low sensitivity FPS (such as using half a meter to do a 360 degree turn) - pretty hard to recommend between mice for shell, grip etc because it's so subjective

It would, but it's easy to adjust, especially since 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 are the same aspect ratio.

You can just increase DPI by 1.333x (1440/1080 = 1.333) and that will maintain the exact same amount of mouse movement to cross side to side or top to bottom of your screen.

You might want to make minor adjustments to sensitivity if you're already adjusting to a new screen though, especially if it takes up a significantly different amount of your vision

Shit misread that, yes it will, just multiply the dpi to get the same ratio If I'm not retarded if you used 800 dpi on 1080p you'll need ~1100 dpi to get about the same sensitivity, though I don't put much faith in my ability to do even basic maths.

I'm still using 1080p (My laptop can't output more), but yeah minor adjustments seems like the way to go.

I mean like, 1000dpi and 1300dpi can be very similar amount of distance moved to cross the screen edge to edge if you go 1080p to 1440p, but it will feel different if you have a 27" screen at 2ft away from you instead of 22" screen at same distance

Hello, people!
I am interested in a new mouse. Now I am using Logitech G1, and I am satisfied with it's shape and weight. But the wire is stiff, materials are cheap etc. I want something like G1, but more classy. I wanted to buy Zowie mico very badly, but now this one is unavailable. I heard other models of Zowie are much bigger than Mico :/ Is it true? Or are there other suitable mouses? Thanks in advance!

I think the G100S is a decent mouse and has the same shape than the G1. Some people complained about faulty clicks though, do some research about it I guess

I am in the exact same situation: I have the G1 and I bought the G100s to see if I can replace it in the future. I personally don't like the texture of the G100s because it feels slippery, despite it being anti-sweat material. It feels like it has no grip, like it will slip out of my hands while I'm playing, but it really shouldn't. Sizes are kinda similar, but the G100s I think is higher and less wide; it seems more curved at the top. Are a clicks a concern? Probably in the future. It's an odd design because unlike the G1 where the left and right buttons are distinguished from the body, there is basically only a slit on the top shell of the G100s to make the left and right buttons so it's one piece. I think the tracking on the G100s is okay, but I haven't used it enough yet to compare with the G1, but the G1 I know is perfect. Logitech could have definitely done better but it seems like an alright mouse.
I am still unsure whether I will use the G100s, but I know that I will use the G1 until it dies, hopefully in 100 years.

Personally, the G1 trumps all other mice I have used in terms of size, shape, weight and tracking. I have yet to find a good replacement for it. Baffling that I got the G1 for $10 is better than most gaming mice I have used.

Zowie mice other than the mico are definitely larger - similar sizes to the steelseries kana/sensei - razer deathadder type.

Despite how much I avoid razer products, I think the razer abyssus might be worth trying if all else fails. The CM Storm Xornet/Spawn are also rated highly.

I don't think the abyssus is a good mouse, the "original" is similar to deathadder 3.5g but you can't update firmware and they both only work properly with the sensor at the 1800dpi native setting~ If you want to use that 1800dpi native setting and/or scale from it, rather than natively selecting a DPI, and you're also fine with 500hz (i think that sensor doesn't do 1000hz stable, or is that just DA3.5g?) then it's usable, but you need to get one with a good firmware. I don't think the bad firmware mice are still in circulation but some years ago that was a major problem with people buying an abyssus.

the deathadder 3.5g and the new abyssus don't have onboard memory so they force you to use the synapse software which causes some problems such as aparant smoothing, negative acceleration etc and acts funny with recalculating DPI, often (or always) from the highest step available on the mouse, so for example with deathadder 3.5g, even though 1800 performs great and 3500 performs terribly, unless you use a legacy driver the sensor will be in 3500 mode. Razer really messed up with their software side; if you don't have onboard memory in the mouse you NEED to get that right.

Has there been any word of an update to the ec1 or ec2? Seems like they would be next in line for an update.

hi guys!

i'm currently using a logitech mx518 for about a year now, and the shape has been starting to annoy me since it really doesn't suit my claw grip. what kinda mouse would you guys suggest me?

i'm currently using my mouse at 1000 dpi for sc2 and 450 dpi for fpses. budget would be around 60$ maximum and i'm using a steelseries 4hd mousepad.

angle snapping doesn't really bother me, unless it's really apparent and high.

i've tried out the kinzu v1 and the sensei and i disliked the kinzu's sensor and the sensei's finish (and it's a bit too big for my liking).

i've had my eyes on the zowie mico for a while, but i'm kinda turned off by the jump bug.

Ordered the Abyssus 2014,I now have the old Abyssus, but this one, the scroll wheel is like the hole room can enjoy I am scrolling lol.
Abyssus always been my favorite mouse since it is release, I am also very happy that they made the decision to make the mouse durable, something the Abyssus now lacks.

Can't wait for this "small" upgrade.

I was looking for a small, claw grip mouse.
Bought a Abyssus(not the 2014 one) and didnt like it all, the buttons are very stiff.

Then I discovered the Logitech G100s and man, this mouse is awesome and affordable.
Its very light and small but its perfect for me.
The software is a little funky but overall, loving this so far.
