Now I know that there are a few topics floating around here about this mouse, and I've searched through and read them all, and while they have solid information regarding user opinion/technical specifications, I've yet to see a post confirming the longevity of the mouse.
I'm currently using a Microsoft Habu mouse, which in my opinion is a great mouse, only I've had it for just under(?) a year, and I'm starting to have severe issues that affect game play.
The USB wire will lose connection if it's moved at all in any direction except for the specific way I have it laid out when it's currently working, and I'll lose mouse control for roughly 10 seconds. I also have an abysmal double click issue where it will occasionally click twice instead of once when I use the left mouse button. This is terrible when I manage to pull off all of my workers when I meant to grab one.
Anecdotes aside, anybody who's had the Deathadder for more than a year or two is urged to respond with any and all opinions/criticisms of the mouse, as it's very similar to my Habu in it's shape, and I'm leaning towards buying it pretty heavily unless somebody can tell me why this mouse will be no better than my current one in roughly a year.
Thanks.

i have had it for over 2 years and never had a problem with it, dropped it a couple times and everything

I've had mine since it was released in 2006. I thought I broke the mouse3 button once when I dropped it, but after a week or so it fixed itself. I highly recommend it.

Had it for over two years as well, no problems. Best mouse I've used.

Had it for over two years also. I've used intelli's, mx310, mx510, mx518, g5, and deathadder. deathadders the best IMO.

had my death adder for around 3 years now and have had 0 problems with mine.
smoothest mouse i ever touched.
use to love the mx logitech series till i got this.

No problems with my deathadder.. i think the braided cord helps a ton!
|
One year, no problems. My favorite mouse ever.

I too have had mine for at least a year, but more towards almost two. Still works completely fine and mine is the older model with the basic wire. I know the newer versions have this "rope" feeling wire which feels a lot more solid and resistant to friction against a desk edge, etc (not that the original had an issue with the cable).
edit: 500 posts!

Had mine for 2 years, no problems - i bought it cos a friend recommended it to me as he'd used his since they were first released, he still uses it now

Thanks guys, I'm gonna be picking this mouse up tomorrow. I'm excited.

Its a very different shape from other mice, so it you'll need to adjust to its weight and buttons, but its probably the best mouse Ive used.
|
I also had the Habu before i got the Deathhadder and i have to say The Deathhadder has a way longer lifespan than the Habu i had the Habu for maybe half a year and it broke and the other i have like for 3Years and it´s still working( except for the third mouse button for some weird reason)
