And unless you're overclocking, the stock heatsink is fine. Unless you want a super quiet PC or have terrible ambient temps.

You're saying I don't need to worry about that unless I'm overclocking?

It'll come with a stock heatsink that's fine with the 2400, but make sure you don't buy your mobo from newegg but get it from microcenter as well, as they have crazy bundle deals. My MSI H61 board was $19.99 off from $64.99 because I also bought the i5 2400 with it.

I checked Microcenter, but it seems like they only have 3 bundle deals (looking from the mobo side) is there some other way to check? And alright, thanks about the fan!

Yeah they're bundle deals weren't online, so I was super surprised when they told me about it in store, as I was going to pay the full price for them. They were like "oh yeah, that board is $45 off the price if you buy it with the any sandybridge processor" which is actually better than the $40 off deal they had a month ago or so!

Ohh, alright, thank you! It might be location specific, idk, but it worked for me at the Tustin/Orange County store if by any off chance that's the one you're near! If they don't have the deals, it's usually around $5 more expensive for the motherboard, so not a huge deal, so if you don't want it then you can just order it from newegg afterwards.

Without knowing exactly what two sets of RAM you're talking about, answering that is impossible. Could be branding, heat spreaders, voltage, or the fact that CL11 2000Mhz is essentially the same as CL9 1600 in a lot of kits?

Im currently shopping for a new setup and thought this would be the best place for advice. I am looking into getting my first 'real' gaming desktop and am looking for guidance in terms of specs. I am planning on doing some overclocking, nothing too extreme however. the budget would be approximately 800$ and I already have a monitor so it would be just for the tower. Thanks ahead of time.
