Your total is about $876 right now. You aren't taking advantage of sale pricing or pricematching so your total can be a lot lower. In addition, a GTX 460 is overkill for 1024x768, it's an okay choice of a card if you plan on upgrading your monitor to 1080p but there are better choices than it though.
Intel Core i5 2500k & MSI P67 C43 @ $320 ($300 after mail in rebate) http://ncix.com/products/?sku=62550&promoid=1370
Mushkin 2x4GB @ $38 ($33 after mail in rebate) (pricematch with http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=16950BD3503 ) http://ncix.com/products/?sku=55544
Corsair CX430 V2 @ $35 http://ncix.com/products/?sku=60345&promoid=1370
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB @ $40 (pricematch with http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=16950AC9911 ) http://ncix.com/products/?sku=58402
Fractal Design Define R3 @ $115 http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=53537
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 @ $94 (pricematch with http://www.bestdirect.ca/products/222137/GFC-00599/MICROSOFT/ ) http://ncix.com/products/?sku=45271
XFX Radeon HD6850 @ $149 (with promo code COLLEGETOUR11 ) ($119 after mail in rebate) http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150516
This comes to $791 before mail in rebates, taxes, and shipping. Slightly better power supply. Slightly better graphics card. More memory.
Add in your wireless for $26 and it becomes $817: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=49999
The easiest way to subtract from your total is to forget about overclocking or get a less expensive case.
The Bitfenix Shinobi is a nice in-expensive case for $50: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=60584&promoid=1370 Though it isn't sound dampening like the Fractal Design Define R3 but it would take more than $50 off your total.
You also don't have a DVD burner, don't know if you need one but if you do than that's another $17: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=60857&promoid=1370
You also don't have an aftermarket heatsink for overclocking which is another $24 (pricematch with http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=11130AC8843 ): http://ncix.com/products/?sku=41337
If you take away overclocking and go down to a Core i5 2400 and a H61 / H67 motherboard than that would take roughly $60 off the total.
If you know you are never going to get a new monitor with a higher resolution than you could get a weaker graphics card and still be capable of playing current and upcoming games on reasonably high settings at your current resolution. The Radeon HD6850 that is recommended is capable of playing current and upcoming games on reasonably high settings at 1080p.
Take note that some of these sales end on Wednesday.

I'm looking into getting a 27in Monitor. I'll have a 560ti with my new computer build and was wondering if it'd be able to push high settings pretty easy in SC II, WoW, and The Old Republic when it comes out.

I know you'll get a better answer than this, but I've been seeing a lot of videos on YouTube of people showing off their build, etc., and a lot of gaming builds have a 560Ti running a lot of modern games (e.g. Battlefield: Bad Company 2, StarCraft II, etc.) on maxed or almost maxed settings while getting a respectable framerate.

What is your budget? $500.00-900.00
What is your resolution? Will be upgrading to 1920 x 1080 I have a 19” and a 32” to plug into it. A Sony Bravia 32” and an Acer x193wb at the moment.
What are you using it for?
Strictly gaming. I can not run Deus Ex on my current computer. I would like to play Diablo3 and Battlefield3 when they come out all maxed out.
What is your upgrade cycle?
2.5 years
When do you plan on building it? ASAP
Do you plan on overclocking?
Not unless I have to.
Do you need an Operating System?
Gah. Is Win 7 really that good? I’ll have to add that.
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire?
The eventuality of two GPUs is probable.
Where are you buying your parts from?
Newegg unless you have a better idea.
I currently have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229038 and would like to use as much of it as possible. Case is good, PSU, DVDs, HD (recently replaced).

Yea, I know it'll run those games great and all, but was just wondering about it running them great on a 27in monitor or if it even matters since it'd run it at 1920x1080.

Ya... a GTX 560 Ti is definitely capable of running current and upcoming games on reasonably high settings at 1080p. I don't know why you would doubt this and I don't know why you are going to purchase a 27" with a 1080p resolution since it's going to be pretty terrible.

Because I need more info about monitors and am stupid about it. What would be a good resolution on a 27 in monitor? Is it even worth buying a 27 in monitor for mostly gaming/surfing/and some photo editing.

27" resolution is 2560x1440. Not much choices here, you have either the Dell U2711, Apple Thunderbolt, NEC PA271W, and maybe some others? All of which cost somewhere around $1000. Probably not worth it to you? For most people, it's best to just get a single or two 22" - 24" 1920x1200 / 1080 monitor.

Ok, Thanks.
The monitor I was looking at was at Best Buy for like $400. I believe it was this one:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung - 350 Series 27" LED Monitor/2602307.p?id=1218339239795&skuId=2602307
I thought it looked cool, nice and big. I'm saving up for my computer I'm going to build so I was looking at monitors to throw into the budget. It looks like the 1920x1080 is max resolution with this one. I may just go with a 24in monitor if it won't look the greatest at 27in.
This is the reason why I ask first, simply because I'm ignorant of monitors and what to use. I'd rather ask here, then buy it and learn the hard way.
As I read up on it, it doesn't even have HD.

@Skyr Apple Thunderbolt doesn't work with PCs/consoles since they don't have Thunderbolt. If you are getting an Apple 27" display for a PC, it must be the old DisplayPort model

Go into a store and take a look at the monitors. Do you buy high end speakers or televisions by listing to random strangers on the internet? No you don't, you go into a specialty store and take a look at the products on offer so you know whether or not you like them. For instance I love Klipsch speakers but a lot of people absolutely cannot stand the tweeters they use and they won't know this unless they've tested them in a store.

Well, I did that. As I stated in another post above, I had went into Best Buy, saw the 27 in, thought it'd look nice and be nice to have. I was just getting some more information on a monitor and how it would work with a 560ti. I would rather make an informed purchase rather then say 'Oh pretty!, I'll take that one' which was my first inclination. Just getting facts now.
I do have some good feedback to go off of now and probably won't purchase the 27in but rather go for a 23 or 24.
All the help is appreciated.

The thing is, that is literally how you buy a modern day TN monitor. You look at a monitor and decide whether or not its pretty or not. There isn't anything to be informed about because its low end consumer technology at this stage.
That Samsung you looked at is perfectly fine. I have no idea what you mean by "it doesn't have HD" because it definitely does 1080P and it definitely has HDCP through DVI. If you like it, and you can't find a better deal elsewhere, then you probably won't be disappointed with your purchase.

Yeah, if a display looks good to your eyes, who cares what a spec sheet says? And who cares what a spec sheet says if it looks like crap? It's like the one piece of hardware you should buy off of nothing but subjective impressions.
The only objective considerations are support and warranty.

@locodoco
I dont know of any koreans speakers that come on this thread, so the parts you would need basicly are :
i5-2400 cheapest h61 motherboard 4-8 gb ram depeding on price for lol i guess a gtx460 or even gts450 would be more then plenty ... any 7200 RPM hard drive xfx 450w power suply, or could you find the page where they are and link it to us rather ? and for the case that's your personnal choice

@mojachiee
When you say "But the higher the better" for your resolution, do you mean you'll be upgrading your monitor? Do you expect that budget to include a monitor? This is crucial.
Also, if you're planning on building in a month, come back at most 1 week before you plan to place your order. Pricing&sales will most likely change by then.

I don't include the monitor in the budget.
