Hopefully the information was sufficient. Just curious as to what the better deal is. Using this computer for standard gaming uses (SC2, CS:S, TF2, WOW, etc).
I'm not sure about your math or where you're getting the components for that custom build, but I'm adding up to around $1020. Also lol @ that Dell ... without the monitor, the price would be approximately the same as the prebuilt but that's with poor optimization, probably a mystery PSU, and that's at a 35% discount.
My math includes labour to build it, shipping charges, and a warrenty that the guy building it is giving me.

That explains it I guess I was spoiled by paying a grand total of $10 in shipping for all of my parts (similar parts to yours), plus I built it myself and did not add any extra warranty or shipping insurance.

Since I am getting the Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 mATX: http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=61004 and I am guessing it comes with 2 SATA but I will have a DVD/HD/SSD, I went looking for a SATA cable and found an old Dell prebuild. Can I take out the cable from that? It had a CDplayer (not DVD) and obviously a hard drive. how do i know if its ATA or SATA?

Seems to be a BIOS problem for that specific model from what I just read. It'll be fixable but I would advise getting a different model.

Im a programmer, not a computer maker... If i try to do something with my clumsy hands, ill fail.
BTW: anyone who has time to show me how to build a computoer, pls PM me in TL.

This is a good starting point.

Have fun =)
OK TL i need some recommendations for a case for a new build mATX for factor, so I want a smaller case
What I'm looking for. (in order of importance)
Dust filters. Really important to me. Decent cooling, at least 2 120mm intakes or equivalent. Less noise if possible, at least some kind of dampening on the hard drives. Doesn't look like a piece of turd (well it the other 3 criteria pass this one is less important) USB3.0 ports on the case
What I was looking at previously was the Lian Li PC A04
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/LianLi/PC-A04B/
I can get it for GTR Lian-Li PC-A04/BK 鋁合金 (黑色) Micro ATX Tower Case HK$ 670 670 Hong Kong dollars = 85.81628 U.S. dollars (that's at a brick and mortar store, not much online shopping over here.)
But I was wondering if there were any other cases that looked/performed better that you guys might have come across.
Thanks =)

How many 3.5" hard drives do you have? If just one, you can use the Silverstone TJ08-E and take out the hard drive cage. If using more, then use the hard drive cage, but you may need to use some padding to reduce vibrations. They already use rubber on the insides apparently, but it is not enough given the lack of support for the hard drive cage.

But that price for a PC-A04 looks pretty good.

What is your budget? 800-1100
What is your resolution? I have no idea
What are you using it for? Gaming, Watching Videos (Mostly Destiny )
What is your upgrade cycle? Until the desktop breaks
When do you plan on building it? 2-4 months
Do you plan on overclocking? Probably not; Its mostly because I have no idea how too
Do you need an Operating System? Yes, Windows 7
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? If I have enough money left over
Where are you buying your parts from? The Cheapest place
Additional info: This is my first time building a computer. Can someone give me a link to a video that teaches how to build one?

Yeah pretty much. Read that review as well, the case looks reallllllllly nice but I wasn't really sold on the 180mm fan concept. (and it's smaller than the A04 to boot which is good but still that fan.....)
Was planning on a 120g ssd boot drive and a 1 or 2 tb data drive, so only 1 3.5, need to go check if the A04 has a seperate mount or if i need an adapter.
And fans without LEDs are a PLUS. they're annoying.
Thanks for the recommendation, was only wondering if there was any other good case that I missed other than the PC A04.
Peace.

What is wrong with a single 180mm fan? Just curious...yes you can hear it but you can also hear OEM quality 120mm fans which may end up being actually louder. The 120mm fans are potentially better if you have a lot of hard drives as you benefit from more equal air distribution but the AP181 fan is sufficient for such a small case and the hard drive cage serves as a duct to direct air towards your hardware (notice the hard drive cage is exactly the same size as the 180mm fan). Anyway if you want any fan setup to be quiet, you will need to undervolt your fans with a fan controller or 3-pin resistors adapters.
Anyway, the Lian Li A04 is extremely easy to work in however runs into all of the problems faced by all-aluminum cases - easy to damage as well as extremely prone to vibrations. It doesn't help that Lian Li's hard drive dampening system is more suited to convenience than actual noise reduction.
Keep in mind the Lian Li A04 has CPU clearance issues. It can fit smaller coolers but will absolutely be incapable of fitting any of the typical full height tower coolers like the Coolermaster Hyper 212+. I think the max clearance height is like 154mm.
There is more to "quiet computing" than sound dampening foam and rubber grommets. I can tell you that for fairly powerful systems, it will be easier to make the TJ08-E quiet than pretty much any other mATX case on the market.
Hard mounted (or close enough) hard disks in the TJ08E is an issue but I'm fairly sure foam weather strip along the side panels should be enough to eliminate all of the audible vibrations - no idea why Silverstone, or any other case manufacturer, can't take a leaf out of Antec's book and use gooey silicon mounts instead of the rubbish they put in all of their cases. I know everyone has hard ons for the tool-less concept but they all either suck or are absolutely redundant.

and which one would u recommend? the EVGA or the MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II OC 880MHZ at the same price.
I know one is known for customer support and other for cooling and I also know alot of people purchase the Twin forz, just wanted your opinion.
